I'm guessing either a dragon or a magma elemental.
Either way, we need to skedaddle, asap.

Then he remembers:
-The cursed evil sword
-The vampire biting his neck
-The demon in the bedroomAnd a dozen other misadventures that nearly ended in his death and/or dismemberment due to his poor choices.
Should he really just reach down and grab this random gem in a hostile dungeon without consulting the party first?

.Of course he should. How else would he add to his collection of stories? He snatches up the gem.
Why thank you, I am here to please :)
But seriously, what was the loot? I mean I have to get something for making these awful decisions :P

I swear, Karnog goes out of his way to defy stereotypes and be non-dwarfy, but he keeps getting pulled back in.

I honestly love the classic feel of this game. In so many recent games these days it feels like nobody is willing to play unless the least complicated build is a goblin NG inquisitor/barbarian. Getting some classic role-playing where the dwarves are dwarves, the sorcerers are haughty, and the rogue gets into trouble is extremely fun.

Oh yeah I love this game. So many great moments abound. If I can find some way to unroll all the posts and consolidate them, just imagine what that story would look like.
Adventure, struggle, loss and heroic sacrifice, so many crazy shenanigans, so many "skin of your teeth" wins. It's really great.

And the Drow is extremely suave

If I die though...I want to make a halfling cleric of Abadar who charges a premium for healing, once you hit your adventure quota it is free.
I had a cleric in a table top game, FYI his name was "Baldwin the Merciful", who use to have the party members tithe to his church for healing. He would gather quite a haul of funds then give it to his church or a charity at the next town.

Initially it upset a couple players at the table but as the character and game developed everyone saw that I wasn't pocketing the loot. Plus, I never left anyone in dire circumstances but they also realized that I was not their heal bot for minor injuries. He was built for battle with the old 3.5 rules.

That does remind me on one game where a similar character actually caused the game to end. Our alchemist was in peril so I rushed in and took quite a beating to keep her alive. She healed me, but then gave me a bill. Like, a full bill, as if we hired somebody from a church to heal and were paying full price. I told her I wasn't paying and eventually the argument boiled over to discussion and caused the game to end.
Oddly enough another game I was in with that player also ended due to an in character argument becoming an out of character one.
Not a pleasant person to play with.

I should start billing Desmond for physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
J/K, of course, but its a funny thought.

Desmond Aeros |

Desmond will be happy to tithe for his physical and mental health, but as far as he's concerned his spirit is right where it should be at :P

To my knowledge, none.
Maybe a reduction to penalties from ground conditions but that's all I can think of

Heads-up folks.
I've asked Felicitas to step out of the game. She was a long time player with a wonderful character but unfortunately, an inconsistent poster for quite some time. This game demands role playing, in-game player interactions, attention to details, and active participation. The game requires more than an infrequent one line post or dice roll.
Right now, I will DMPC her character until I can find a good stepping out point for her.

Karnog Kegmeister |

Fair enough, GM.
Let's hope she goes out as a hero, at least that will put a good end to her story.

Duncan Redhammer wrote:What's the bonus to Stealth when using magical flight? I can't find the reference...I'm not aware of any bonuses to stealth.
Maybe I'm remembering a 3.5 rule.
Something about a bonus to moving silently because you are floating rather than walking.
Desmond Aeros |

Personally I've always ruled that magical flight gives you a bonus against hearing-based perception checks as long as you're floating away from the walls and ceiling, but pretty sure that's a houserule.

Sorry for the infrequency lately.
Just started a new job and it took quite a bit of learning. It was getting better, but I can understand.
But then the game picked up lately with quite some pace I sometimes missed.
Now that my probation is over I could be much more diligent, but alas, I understand if you prefer me leaving.
It has been an high honor to fight the enemys of mankind.

Dropping this in all my games. I started a new work assignment today that leaves me with less posting time. How much less I'm not sure, but my teacher hours mean I can still post every day. I'm not quitting by any means, just letting you know my posting hours will be more limited.
