Not suggesting this Glaive get hit with the Ban Hammer, but HOLY CRAP.
I'll be the first to admit to being an optimiser (hopefully made up for by being a good role player)
But I am a little surprised a material like this exists at such low cost in game.
A metal that ignores enemy metal armor. So like, 80% of enemies wear metal armor. Even given the weapon is considered to have the Broken condition, that -2 is far outweighted by being able to ignore anything more Armored than +2 Scalemail.
It's even worse when you consider the flat bonuses That Grungsdi, Karnog or Duncan could drop on it.
For example, if we melt this Glaive down and make a Longsword, Duncan's class abilities mean ANY longsword he wields is considered Good Aligned.
Any chosen weapon changes the base damage to 1d10.
I could drop a Gtr Magic Weapon to make it a +3 1d10 Longsword that ignores ALL metal armor....

The metal is not the hardest to sunder though. Although I do agree it needs to cost more. $5000 is too cheap especially at these levels when cash is not a true issue.
Lots of examples of how a system breaks. I wouldn't doubt that some designer had to figure out how can to counter +40 AC's.

Duncan learned his lesson years ago when he put on an armor that had the markings of a different god cause it had a much better enchant......and then promptly lost all his spellcasting cause his god was angry with him.

Absolutely.

BTW, just found out about this feat: Summon Good Monster.
Wish I had found that before I took Spell Penetration at 15th lvl
Oh well, if we survive perhaps I can retrain back at town.

I'll let you swap it out when you rest and pray the next morning.

Oh wow, that's quite generous.
Thanks, GM, appreciate it!
Of course, that suggests well be approaching the "no prayers, no summoning or teleportation" zone of evil soon.
C'est la vie, eh.

So far you can feel your God on this level, so unless you die in battle you should be ok.

He once had a cursed tiara one of his dwarf's couldn't take off in this game. That was humorous.

So many curses in this dungeon...

Not sure if that last action will work.
My plan is for everyone to gather round me and next round I'll cast Water Breathing on everyone.
Hopefully the earth elemental can grapple the giant and then the Hound archon can Greater Teleport through the barrier and reverse the first lever, opening the door behind us or the second lever stemming the flow of water.

A summoned monster cannot summon or otherwise conjure another creature, nor can it use any teleportation or planar travel abilities. Creatures cannot be summoned into an environment that cannot support them. Creatures summoned using this spell cannot use spells or spell-like abilities that duplicate spells with expensive material components (such as wish).

Crap. I totally forgot that part and didn't bother to Re-read the spell description.
Wasted Action.

it simply makes the game more interesting.

Much like making our drowning chamber smaller...wa-waaa

Duncan Redhammer |

I'm not too stressed about the drowning. Unless the Giant dispels my water breathing spell I am casting next round.....

Desmond Aeros |

Alright so I'm kind of lost on what's happening tactically right now. Is the summary that we are going through the hole to approach the giant who is no longer protected by an antimagic field? Or is there still some other kind of physical barrier in the way?
Definitely enjoying such an interesting challenge but I have to admit I'm confused at the moment.

Karnog Kegmeister |

1 wall to the east, that has been "breached" by way of a (now flooded) 10x10' cube underneath.
Just to the west of that, Karnog and Duncan (and Grungsdi?) Aare at another invisible barrier.
Elemental triggered a big put trap just west of that, and recently poofed back into existence once Kalim wished away the giants AMF.
Giant is in melee with the elemental, and its Desmond's turn.

Desmond Aeros |

So we still have no way to reach the giant than, correct? I'm not sure what Desmond can contribute at this point since he's entirely non-magical.

baldwin the merciful |

Karnog summed it up well.
As far as you know you don't have a direct way to reach the giant. Nobody in your group has cast see invisibility.

baldwin the merciful |

Just so everyone is clear you don't see the invisible walls. Nobody has cast a see invisibility spell.
I placed the light blue line between squares M and N because water flooded into the room and you could see something - a barrier - held the water back. The big red crossed out marker is a hole that Kalim made under the invisible barrier.
Karnog, Grung, Nym, and the chain of perdition have moved using the hole that Kalim created. note: the hole is now filled with water because the room is still flooding. Karnog and his group have run into a second invisible barrier.
Kalim, Duncan, Desmond and Duncan's hound have not moved under the wall. You are currently in a room filling with water.
The yellow section on the map is a collapsed trap/pit that the earth elemental set off. You can see a massive cave in there.

This is definitely a situation you have to think and wiggle your way through, bum-rushing just to bash the enemy is not going work. Your enemies are much more tactical at these levels.

Has a heart attack and gives us all his treasure for free?
Hey, a dwarf can hope, right?

Duncan Redhammer |

Nom,Nom, Nom.
Duncan munches on the Giant's Heart.
Man I LOVE Dwarven Hatred Style, Dwarven Seething.
It's like free Gtr Wpn Focus, and Wpn Spl vs Anything that hits you AND it stacks with those feats.
Stacking Feat trees is Why Fighters (and any class that gets fighter bonus feats) are awesome.
Even though Duncan is not much of a damage dealer, he trips and intimidates the crap out of whatever he touches which helps everyone.

When I was on my gaming hiatus I had picked up supplement from Rite Publishing to make the Big Bad Evil Guy's more challenging. To quote the publisher:
" BOOOORING! Do your boss fights fizzle?!
Did you spend four hours designing an
awesome antagonist only for it to get
one-shot to over-optimized characters
with unfair action economy?! Do your
players laugh at you behind your back?
Are you sure your players don’t laugh at
you behind your back? (Hate to break it
to you, but I’ve laughed at you with your
players behind your back.) Well look no
further, pal, because this lil’ supplement
lets your boss fights be all they can be!
Finally, GMs can hold their heads high
and shout, “I win Pathfinder!” as loud
as the players! It’s hunting season on
murderhobos, and there’s no kill limit!
- Metadventurer
DM interpretation:
"No more kick'n the DM, I'm gonna boot stomp you back."
- Baldwin the Merciful Merciless.

Duncan Redhammer |

I'm on the train laughing at this.
I always interpreted our boss fights of either us shining or me getting KO'd big time with very little middle ground.

Karnog Kegmeister |

Gonna get to Karnog SMASH for the first time, I think.
Unless Grungsdi and Desmond slay him first, of course.
