Karnog heals, sure, but hes mostly about keeping the team alive and well before the damage comes down.

Your cleric's awesome and you play him well. He is definitely a team player and he's not afraid to mix it up.

man, tough to keep up with you guys lately.

Stupid construction, stupid convention (no I take that back, that was awesome), stupid house disastor

I've been swamped and haven't been able to post. I'll try to get something up later today.

Sorry about the delay in posting. I was busy at work then I decided to spend the last couple days golfing. I've played 36 holes yesterday and I'm heading back to the course in a few minutes for another round or two.

I was tempted to smite the Vrock instead, but I have a feeling I'm gonna need them...

This is a double edged sword. Duncan is brimming with Buffs but something tells more than a few will expire before this fight is over.....

Plus, I can't even get myself back to Full HP cause I have no way to remove the curse damage from earlier.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, welcome to a challenging high end game.

From a DM POV it is exceptionally difficult to create encounters that challenge 15th level characters. This string of encounters have been a blast to run. It's taken a lot of creativity to have a battle where it is a do or die situation.

I say well played Sir, you are right about the difficulty.
2 Mages and 2 divine casters is difficult to counter when you consider the sheer coverage of problem solvers that many spell slots can cover.

I am actually kicking myself that I only had one lesser restoration prepared, nor do I have a wand of it.

It takes alot of system mastery to present challenges when the party can basically warp reality or magic away problems.

And throwing beatsticks at us (while fun) doesn't really solve the issue either with a well built fighter like Grungsdi who can chew a level appropriate opponent.

This is tough. Good but tough. I suspect there will be a lot of reshuffling of loadouts moving forward

Yep. Not particularly complicated, however, the battles to test our endurance have been good but the hungry darkness spell is a good one. Brutal and still effective at this level (I am kicking myself for not having a wand of Lesser Restoration), I'll try to fix that if we survive.

Evil GM

I'm thinking about running a one-shot or a mini-campaign and I was curious what your favorite ones are. I'm fishing for ideas.

I have a campaign setting regarding towns and one town that has a bit of detail is Falcon's Hallow. this sets up well for Hollow's Last Hope and the Revenge of the Kobold King modules.

What are other fun modules. I'm not interest in APs

I love Hook Mountain Massacre for this kind of thing.

Or the first book of Kingmaker.

Some overland travel, bunch of varied encounters and novel places/scenes/npcs, then a tough, nasty fight through a medium sized "house/dungeon" and a really good payoff at the end.

The Hollows Hope mod gets good reviews, as does Kobold King trilogy.

Of course, there's always We Be Goblins...that's pretty fun too.

I would like to base the one shot or likely, mini campaign out of town incorporating something out of campaign setting: Towns of the Inner Sea. They have 6 towns/villages described in some detail and that would be a good homebase. I'd like to do a little adventuring in the town and surrounding area using a combination of pregen source materials and homebrew stuff that I need to get out of head.

No. If you are medium sized and on the ground you need a reach weapon.

Between Orctown and the mission to clear RA, I kinda think we ADE playing Dwarf Fortress.

I'm still a good week or two from beginning this recruitment but I'd like to know who, if anyone including lurkers, are interested in a module/mini-campaign? I'm gauging interest right now before I put something up for open recruitment.

I wanna play a non-caster basher type for reals

Male Human Ranger 1

Well if nobody wants to be a Healer I am keen on trying a Healing focused WITCH!

AND I won't even min/max the crap out of the char.

Male Human Ranger 1

Or a Stalker if we need another beatstick. I have always wanted to make a Artemis Enterie type char and I think that class does it.

I would potentially be interested, I think my life is starting to calm down soon so I would be able to pick up another game.

Also PLEASE throw me, it's almost a crime we haven't tried this strategy at some point yet.

I see from your profile you are in a RA game. What level are you on and which levels have your gone through? I've made many changes to the dungeon, so it may not resemble what you've done.

I see you are fighting ogres in your game, this group had a memorable encounter with ogres and actually befriended one "Meat'd".

The RA game in in is quite slow paced. We began as 3rd level characters and are now 6th level. It began in 2015 so less than one character level per year.

We've gone through the Mouth of Doom and the first 2 or 3 levels of RA... So far it's been mostly rats and ghouls.... But those black skeletons can be quite nasty.

Doesn't look like we'll be making friends with any of the ogres but we did knock the insane barbarian unconscious and cured his insanity

As originally written this level had difficulty level of CR 7, but it amp up to a 10 if the temple was assaulted. So overall, it was suppose to be a low-mid level dungeon level for the party. However, this is your second time on this level, you all first came and fought ogres (befriending Meath'd) and left. Essentially, you by-passed 90% of the level. I think you all were around level 6 or 7 at the time, which was right around the level you needed to be to challenge you as the book was written.

Since then your party has progressed to level 15, and too powerful for the original content, and you have gained the attention of the Prince of Undead, so he had his Priest's enhance it's defenses. I've made this much more of a challenge for this group given your character levels. I haven't spent time calculating the difficulty level but I'd suspect with the traps, curses, and unique monsters, its right around 18/19. It took a lot to get you all to burn so many resources.

That being said, the following passage appears in the book:

"Several, if not all PCs may perish in an attempt to destroy this den of evil. Wise and well versed in combat, the priests never surrender or parley. Anyone captured alive is either immediately killed or sacrificed to Orcus after the battle. Combat like this is the stuff of which legends are made. GMs should play these NPCs with all their guile and skill. If their PCs finally defeat them, GMs should buy their players a drink and pat them on the back; they have done well."

I know we've mentioned this in previous posts but is anyone here actually purchasing P2 game books?
