Welcome to Quest for Gloriana, a Pathfinder adventure set in the world of Quest for Glory (the adventure/RPG hybrid from Sierra Online).

Players, please set your tag line as follows:

HP: xx/xx, NL: x | AC xx/xx/xx | F+x R +x W+x (save modifiers after the save) | Per: +x | Init: +x | ammunition, limited use abilities, or whatever else you would like to have here to keep track of.

Inventory wise you are allowed to start with the following:
1 set of armor you are proficient in.
1 melee weapon you are proficient in (dual wielders may have a set).
1 ranged weapon you are proficient in.
1 set of clothing.
1 kit appropriate to your class.
1 magic item of your choice worth 500 gp or less (buying price, not crafting price).

The items cannot be masterwork or made from a special material (with the exception of the magic items, of course, which are often both by default).

Once everyone has dotted into both threads and set up their characters we will begin. Any questions go here.

For me, I enjoy the process of characters getting to know one another. I think it makes for good rp.

I would doubt that Felitcia ever met either Trathling (he left the country before she did and he likely wasn't in any vampire courts) or Marche (similar reasons to Trathling). It would be possible that she'd run into Trath after the Darkone's defeat as she fairly quickly beat tracks out of the country, but I find it unlikely myself or if they did it was only in passing since she tried to avoid most people from Mordavia.

BTW, everyone selected their background skills, right? You get two ranks per level to spend on background skills and the following skills qualify:

Appraise
Artistry (a new skill, covering creative works which aren't specifically about performance or building with hands, such as Artistry (painting))
Craft
Handle Animal
Knowledge (engineering)
Knowledge (geography)
Knowledge (history)
Knowledge (nobility)
Linguistics
Lore (a new skill, covering specific branches of knowledge. Lore (plants) for instance)
Perform
Profession
Sleight of Hand

Remember, a background skill is not a class skill unless it is on your class's skill list with two exceptions. Lore is considered a class skill for ALL classes, while Artistry is considered a class skill for any class which has Craft or Perform as a class skill.

Ahh. I see. I choose Craft and Lore (Olympian Gods) as my two, seeing how both make the most sense to my Background spoiler.


Okay! Opening pose has begun! Here's some stuff to be aware of.

Starting Point

The game starts under the assumption that you are in Raseir (one of two cities in the Sultanate of Shapeir) and that you have signed in with the local Adventurer's Guild. Likely you have already completed a few tasks (maybe killed a few bandits in the desert, maybe collected some ingredients for the local apothecary, maybe found someone's lost pet. Small stuff like that.). How long you've been around is up to you but probably only long enough to make your presence known.

About me as a GM

I'll get this out of the way first. I'm a professional game developer (in that people pay me to write, develop, edit, and so forth RPG products). A lot of my work has been for Pathfinder compatible products. That being said, I am not an encyclopedia. I don't have all the rules memorize (I do a lot of looking stuff up as a I write) and I prefer not digging into the finer points for RP. I play things loose and happy. To me, this isn't about "do the players achieve their goal" but the story involved in achieving it (or not on rare occasion). So, hopefully we won't spend too much time getting bogged down in rulings.

I hadn't written in, but I figured original conscription would take place about 16-18, and he spent at least 10 years in the service, so mid-to-late 20's, at the minimum

Pretty sure JGRAY just typed the wrong name there since Hektor missed on his attack this round.

But Hektor may have only missed because he rolled a D10 instead of a D20.

I don't think anyone can use the magic missile wand. Do we want to hang onto it?

There are five healing pills (each is the equivalent of a cure light wounds potion) should we all carry one?

120 dinars that would be 20 dinars each... I guess we have walking around money or do we want to pool our cash?

I like your suggestions. Hang onto the wand; it might lead to the mastermind's identity. Split the pills and dinars.

Thanks for the heads up on the HP. Fixed.

Hektor took 1 CLW pill, as to the money, it can become heavy, I don't know if we want to split it out now or haul it around in a big pile but I'm fine with either.

I can carry it until we need to split it. My carrying capacity way exceeds the rest of the party. If one of us casters trains UMD the wand could make a good ranged backup weapon.
