Thanks. Missed that. Not sure how binding one characters opinion is :-).
At the player level I admit to being very uncomfortable with the idea of playing with a small group under military command with the person in command being a NPC. That kind of automatically eliminates a whole set of interesting interactions (such as the current one). And runs the very real risk of us becoming largely GM sock puppets, getting input only on tactical decisions. Heck, if carried to its logical conclusion Beck will be making even those decisions.
Note : That is NOT meant as a criticism of the current GM. I've had unfortunate experiences in small military groups in the past and am likely overreacting.

Works for me either way, I just figured we were hung on the "who's in charge" question, so I'd pick something that didn't give anyone "control" over the group, so to speak. I was also expecting Beck to die soon anyway, so the idea had that going for it. Also, out of character assuming the older guy was higher rank, for the most part, it would make sense.

Ugh. Still feeling pretty lousy. But I think I'm coherent enough to get some posts together. Been taking care of sick toddlers while sick doesn't leave much energy (physical or mental) to catch up on PbP. I've fallen asleep while crafting posts several times, only to have the situations change by the time I wake. Hope to have something up soon.
