I would think the mitigating effect here may be Than's 1, I would say his intimidation comes off as wholly ineffective and that would mean the grapple would have happened. My intimidate happened after the grapple not before. But if the DC to beat was say between 7-10 we go to sleep but if the DC to beat was 15 or higher a character who rolled a total of 5 wouldn't be taken seriously... no offense Than... either way, you tell me if you want to roll my will save.

The patch of sand that struck at Belvica grows taller. Flowing sand compacts on itself forming legs, then a torso and finally two arms and a head. Zelekhati steps away from the fallen dwarf and human. She points her fingers at Mazon and greenish ray shoots toward the half-orc. The ray of energy sizzles as it burns Mazon.

Round 1 Before casting burning hands, Mazon had taken a 5 ft step forward to include Belvica and Willem in the damage with the spell.
Round 2 Mazon takes a 5 ft step back, loads her crossbow, and leans down to slap Badriyah awake.

Sir Willem & Belvica should Reflex save for half against burning hands (DC 15). Then roll initiative and post an action if it is higher than 16. Remember weapons have been peace-bonded and are a standard action to draw instead of the usual move action. This actually means Mazon has to choose between waking Badriyah and loading the weapon. :) (Roll ini Badriyah if your awake)

The the two flame-wakened Pathfinders regain their feet and attempt to join the melee. The sandman throws a stony punch at Mazon. Connecting with a meaty thud.
Standing is a move action. Picking up a dropped item is a move action. Moving is a move action. Grapple is a standard action. But I will fit what I can in the first round and use these rolls for the second round if that is OK with you (you can wait until R2 to decide). You can stand and take a different standard if you want, or not stand and... etc.. Also there isn't room for both of you to be adjacent to her.

I shouldn't have to pick something up that should already be connected to my elbow and forearm at the same time. If i can stand up and attack that is ok, if i cannot both stand up and attack, I want to attack. The Aoo for me is irrelevant. I want to hit that woman. The shield should not have to be picked up. I should be in melee with the woman because I did attempt to grapple before I tried to intimidate Thanks

The dwarven ranger puts her shield full-force into the face of the proprietor. The women falls onto her backside with a hand lifting to her bleeding nose. Barely awake herself Badriyah pulls Mazon from the reach of the sandman. The creature seems to freeze instantly. The result being another example of fine sculpture in the garden.
The few remaining customers have moved to hiding or running up the stairs to leave the place.
Zelekhati finishes twisting the ring on her hand and she yells in pain. "Alright! Alright I surrender!" I'll tell you what you want to know."
After taking them out of earshot from any remaining customers she explains her story. She inherited the ring from her family, guides in the Underdunes region of Osirion’s eastern desert. She was not with her family when one of the region’s infamous sand-slides buried them.
After her sorcerous abilities manifested, she encountered the sandman, and the ring awakened. The mostly dormant ring of elemental command allowed her to command the elemental and she has used the creature ever since. The creature spies on the customers by hiding in the sand of the garden. Additionally, she can sometimes enter the stone columns or walls to spy on her clients.

Fixing the woman with a cool stare that offers Zelekhati a better choice. "If she were willing to share her information and some of the profits from her operation with our benefactor then I believe he might be willing to leave things be. Perhaps even provide a little additional security and assurance. What do you think?"

After returning the party to consciousness the Pathfinders return to the White Ureaus. Offering the artifacts from the well and an appointed time to meet with Zelekhati as well as the news about the book being placed on the caravan, the party completes Torch's list of favors. Grandmaster Torch is pleased and snaps his fingers. One of the half-orcs retrieves a bundle from a chest against a wall and hands it to Torch.
Grandmaster Torch pulls out three sheets of aged paper. "You have fulfilled your part, so now I fulfill my part of our bargain, Pathfinders," the information broker says and hands the papers over.
One is a map of Osirion, clearly marking Eto and an unnamed site to the north. The second map has a much smaller scale and marks the route between Eto and the mystery location. The last sheet has a charcoal drawing that depicts two large rock outcroppings connected by a smooth wall with a single gate. It is entitled “Seeker’s Folly” and signed “V.L.”

Ah I can see what you mean, like laughing at someone who threatens to tie your shoelaces together when you're holding a battle axe. :)
Intimidation is specifically accounted for in the scenario. (A suspicious person in her own building with her own guardian and an immunity to the guardian's abilities.) Not beating the DC has consequences and not beating by a certain number has more consequences. This is part of the reason I PMed a couple of folks about aiding Than's roll. ;).
Even if his roll was ignored (valid point in most circumstances), grappling Z sets the guardian sandman to attack. Belvica's intimidation also missed the DC, though just barely, giving three reasons it will defend the half-elf.
I hope that makes sense.

Weekly update: I finished another GM PbP today, the other one is on the final encounter. If it goes quickly, I will start recruiting for part two next Monday. If not the Monday after. This group gets priority on all slots naturally :)

I will finish chronicles for my other PbP tomorrow and am inviting the two best posters from that game to this one. If they are interested, we will be at six, which is where I like to start as PbP can have a high dropout rate. If they do not, I will recruit for a couple more (unless someone here minds random newbies. (? :)
If I do not need to recruit I may just use this thread and continue. intros should start late this week.
