Just a heads up, I will be traveling/at a conference from this Monday the 10th to the following Monday, Novemeber 17th. I don't know how much time/internet access I'll have during that period, so feel free to bot me.
GM - Mark Garringer |
Sorry, haven't had much time the last few days. I'll get caught up later tonight.
GM - Mark Garringer |
Liam - your action will complete on your initiative, so you'll still have your full normal turn and the door will be unlocked.

I should have the Chronicles scanned and available tomorrow, I'll get this reported today.
Hopefully you guys enjoyed this little romp through Absalom. I had a great time writing it and running it for you! You guys got some pretty awesome rolls in the last two fights, I've seen those fights swing pretty wildly both ways depending on the dice. :)
I'm happy to answer any 'behind the curtain' questions you may have as well.

I just wanted to say that when I ran this game, I had an older guy at my table, and when he heard the ship's disguised name, he heard "Cat Stevens" instead of "Kat Season". It was worth a few chuckles.
And I GM'ed for the higher tier. The party had a gunslinger with dragon's breath cartridges. Totally overwhelmed the high tier first mate. But I just HAD to GM an NPC gunslinger.
I enjoyed both playing and running it Mark! You did an an awesome job, and I look forward to the upcoming sequel (The Slave Master's Mirror) in December! I assume that's where your PC has disappeared...

A mighty thanks for this game and for writing this scenario, Mark! I really enjoyed it. I almost wished we had seen the trollhound in action, it died so quickly because of me...
Can I ask what's the deal about Sahar? Is that a foreshadowing of an upcoming scenario?
I also saw that on several occasions, you expressed the preference to run this scenario on the higher subtier for other tables. Can I ask you why?

I am super excited about Slave Master's Mirror! Cat Stevens, I love it!
The young trollhound can be quite a pain, but the pair of trollhounds can bring some serious hurt!
I like the higher subtier mainly just for being able to run the gunslinger :) The two trollhounds make that hold fight a bit more frantic and the Captain is a bit better with having her ranger spells and favored enemy human in there. But I love that smart players can do a lot of neat stuff in this scenario.
The stuff with Sahar (who is actually one of my PFS PCs) is just a way to personalize the running and trying to connect Rilla to her rescuers as a fellow Pathfinder. Build up a little bit of tension and excitement with Rilla asking about it, only to be crushed by Valsin's bleak "No contact."

Thanks for the scenario, Mark. That was really ace GMing, amazing! It was a pleasure to see all the backdrop you've added - I can see you gave this a lot of thought.
I really liked that touch in the debriefing, and it also serves a good purpose in making the debriefing an integral part of the scenario. Often the conclusion of a scenario doesn't rely too heavily on a report, but here is really is an integral part of the story.
When running the scenario, I really appreciated the enigmatic questioning style of Darchana. I tried to put a touch of that in the Hellknight's feast game I ran lately (in which her personality is portrayed as a bit more jaded). And I think you saw I really digged the Chelaxian lawyer.
It's a fun scenario, and I'm seeing myself running this again for newer players.

I liked the ship name. Also, I think it'd be cool if you managed to run the game with a group of characters who had met your PFS Sahar character. But I would imagine that might be hard to arrange.

Chronicles have been sent, let me know if there is a problem with any of them. Thanks guys!
