Deciding to press on and explore as much as the temple as you can you move to the next door and Pokey uses his wand to enchant his ammo and then open the door to reveal;
Carved nature scenes cover this chamber’s walls, depicting humanoid figures hunting a wide variety of prey—crocodiles, elephants, hippos, leopards, lions, and even stranger beasts. An open sarcophagus lies at the far end of the room.
In the room is a skeleton wearing a breast plate and a shield and wielding a long sword, near him is what looks like a dried out great cat

I'll assume that it makes more sense for Vanya to run away through the areas she already knows, so she will make her way back in a few rounds unharmed
The skeleton had a sword, a shield and a breast plate with him...all old..but might be worth something.
The cat had nothing.

Pokey is able to find a few secret doors that have been previously missed by searching members
One in the corridor (16):
This long, low corridor is decorated with hieroglyphs and carvings depicting kings, gods, and sphinxes in orderly geometric rows.
However, the mechanism for opening the door is a puzzle: five of the carvings surrounding the door are buttons that must be pressed in the correct combination to open the door. The carvings depict five sphinxes, each with a different head: a falcon head, a female human head, a jackal head, a male human head, and a ram head.
Pokey is also able to determine that the door is trapped when he takes a look at it after Vanya points it out
One in the room with the illusionairy oasis (12)

My apologies..when I mentioned you had no more exits you hadn't explored yet I was mistaken..there's actually one exit early in the pyramid where you went through a secret door before exploring the visible north exit..since there are no monsters there I'll list the room descriptions now
(7)
A black granite statue of a pharaoh stands on the polished alabaster floor in the center of this chamber beneath a vaulted limestone ceiling decorated with gilt stars. An engraved panel of granite stands against the western wall, carved to resemble a door. A flat granite slab lies on the floor in front of the false door. (Pokey is able to that the false door hides a secret door).
be easily removed from the chamber (it weighs upward of 500 pounds)
(8a and 8b)
The two smaller rooms off the sanctuary are shrines to the Ancient Osirian gods of kingship.
The southern chapel (area 8a) contains a statue of a lean man with the head of an animal with a curved snout and erect squared ears.
The northern chapel (area 8b) holds a statue of a strong, powerful man with a falcon’s head topped with a solar disk.
Pokey is able to notice a secret panel in the base of the statue in area 8b.
Where do you want to go first? What do you want to do?

Sarephta examines the glyphs intently. While drawing blanks on some of it, she is fairly confident about some of the religious significance.
"The false door symbolizes a threshold between the lands of the living and the dead," she surmises. "This shrine represents Set, the Ancient Osirian god of darkness, deserts, and storms, and the patron of pharaohs and undead alike."
The aasimar thinks of the best way forward. "Perhaps we should focus on opening the secret panel at the base of this statue. I guess we need to find additional clues before solving the puzzle further north."

well its going to take me several hours to search the whole complex, so the casters should almost be done resting. i vote we wait for them to finish and recover there spells and the move on to the hidden chambers.

![]() |

I'm fine resting...I could recover my channels. I still have 3/4 spells. At the same time, we did have a competing group or something coming behind us. If we hurry through, we may be able to avoid them entirely.

![]() |

Yeah, you can rest if you want. You have a bit of lead on the competition..it's a bit iffy that Pokey would go poke around inside while everyone else rests somewhere outside ..since it doesn't seem too safe to me to wander around inside the pyramid by yourself, but why not.....seems you got lucky and nothing jumped you while you were looking around ;)
Just let me know what you want to do first and we'll pick it up from there

Looking at the five sphinxes Zarunkumar says "I've seen these creatures before." She points to each of these one by one naming them as she goes. "This is a hieracosphinx, and this is a gynosphinx, ooo and this one is a cynosphinx, and I've only read about it but I'm pretty sure this is a androsphinx, and lastly this one is a criosphinx. I'm not sure if that will help us figure out the puzzle, but it's really cool to see them in person for the first time."
Getting to the room with the false door, Zarunkumar thinks there might be something interesting about the carvings on the granite slab, but she just can't put her finger on what that might be.

Moving forward well rested back into the pyramid the party decides to check what's behind the false door they found.
Pokey makes sure he has enough ammo with a wave of his wand before Belka opens the door to reveal;
An elaborately decorated sarcophagus stands among the heaped treasures and offerings in this burial chamber. Ancient Osiriani hieroglyphs on the walls proclaim this to be the tomb of Pharaoh Sekh-pa-Mefer III, the Pharaoh of Sphinxes.

Sareptha takes out a longsword and from lying on the floor is able to hit the mummy in it's ankles ..slicing one foot almost completely off
Vanya goes fully on the defensive (after stepping out of the way of Pokey's line of fire), afraid that what happened to Sareptha will happen to her next.
Pokey fires another round of musket bullets at the mummy and his first bullet just grazes a bit of bandage (not enough to get through DR) but his second bullet leaves a hole in the mummy's chest.
The mummy seems to twitch a bit and topples over.

before looting him of his amulet (which detects as magical).
You then start to search the room to find out that “riches” in the false tomb are actually mundane items gilded with a thin layer of gold. If the entire collection, which weighs almost 1,000 pounds, is gathered and transported back to civilization, it is worth only 500 gp in total.
