Lumo, in case you missed it, just to point out that you find out from your knowledge(religion) that the use of its frightening ability, i.e. where it appeared and scared you guys, can only be used once a minute. So it is not likely to manifest visibly again anytime soon.

Oh yes. You know how that cultist was running into the darkness? Why? Well, he was going to provide flanking for the assassin, because ... surprise surprise, she has sneak attack. So if Tellerin hadn't taken him down, that crit she did on William would have another 4d6 of damage ... :P

And oh, good going on the eagles. Other than all the damage it did (man I've never seen that many series of nat 20s before), it stop the assassin on its tracks early enough (and I put in so much effort to prepare the chase cards!), and soaked up the scorpion venom on her sword. :)

Oh yes, there was a question about our score tally. Without spoiling too much, although we are not leading the pack, we are doing quite well. This is despite certain sections which I feel is disadvantageous for lower-tier tables. For example, for the chase, the DCs are fixed and don't scale by tier. Also, having the ability to fly or teleport bypasses the chase completely. In the table I'm playing which is tier 10-11, all of us could fly so the chase took one round.

Alright, we're coming to the end of the scenario so it's boon rolling time. I usually let the players roll for themselves, but the powers-that-be has dictated that the GM roll for everyone. So I'll roll using the usual initiative order, replacing myself for the monsters' roll. ;) A 1 or a 20 for a 1d20 wins a boon, and a 1d3 determines which one.

Not trying to meta game here but in a FtF game I played recently, I sent a duo of yeth hounds at a level 5 group. Arn't they like a CR2 or 3 alone? That is a rough fight for a 1-2 level group. I am definitely in for leaving. I don't want poor Nigel to die here haha.

Yeah, Yeth Hounds in groups are a lot worse than their CR would indicate. So this is a fight that I'd consider dicey even for a tier 3-4 group! As I said over in gameplay, I'm OK to tap out.

With all of our front liners running, I'd say we tap out.

Normally I would say running them around in circles is an option, but our only people with brains left are gnomes so... unless either of you have a crazy climb or acrobatics or Escape spell, I don't think you'll make it the few rounds before warriors start coming back online.

Yeah, you're right. This third wave is a big jump in challenge for tier 1-2. It is actually the first wave for tier 5-6. :) And it is definitely meant to be a stretch goal, hence the tap out option. Seems that consensus is to tap out. Now if some people could role-play that in the gameplay thread, then I can take over from here.

Just a bit more background info for the game. The cultists are dedicated to Lissala, one of the 7 Runelords of ancient Thassilonia. They wanted to steal the ancient artifact for their own mysterious purposes and the portal they planted were meant to aid their escape or exact revenge, depending on the theft.

Otherwise, thanks for the fun game all. Really enjoyed the RP and I think we worked together well (especially when Tellerin was a bit of a dead weight in the final sequence :>). Hopefully we can all play together again in a future game.
