Dailung |
Pointing to Silmor, Dailung smiles."Failed aspirant of blades, Hollis Thorne, whose blade shattered. It seems obvious to me. Well, maybe because I am using a blade." With that she waits for her more erudite party members to add their opinion.
Dailung |
Sighing Dailung replies. "Well do you remember the note in the abondened house. It said Hollis Thorne!"
Apart from that 4 people have not replied in 4 days. I think this adventure is almost finished. Could we get some spirit back?
Jiggo Maelerant |
"I suppose so. Let's see if the password works here."
Jiggo walks up to Silmor's shrine, clears his throat and utters the phrase
"Wiffle"
and gestures dramatically towards the shrine.
Traflet |
Traflet immediately comes over to see Silmor's shrine, staring around to see if Jiggo's actions have any effect.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
GM Lamplighter |
Nothing happens when Jiggo says the magic word, but he notices that the brass nameplate is held tot he altar by only a single screw, and is hanging at a slight angle. Carefully examining it, he discovers that the plate swivels to the side, concealing a slight indentation. The opening revealed contains a small black slate and a piece of thin chalk.
Extrapolating to save time...
When you write the word "wiffle" on the plate, there is a grinding sound and a piece of the western wall opens, revealing a dark passageway beyond.
Jiggo Maelerant |
"Oh! We're supposed to write this down. Now I look silly."
Jiggo casts light upon the end of his staff and heads into the passage.
Dailung |
"Woohee. Lets get down!"
GM Lamplighter |
Moving this along, since half the party has basically stopped participating...
The tunnel appears to be of natural stone, but Traflet can recognize that it has actually been magically shaped and made to look natural (probably with stone shape or similar magic). The tunnel goes through soem twists and turns and ends in a stone-flagged room. Several desks are arranged along the northern and eastern edges of this small stone alcove. Whereas the stonework leading to this chamber is rough, the walls in the alcove are polished. A single gem rests among the neatly filed papers on the desk, emitting a soft luminescence that brightens the small room.
Jiggo Maelerant |
"Wow! What have we here?"
Jiggo takes time to look around and reads some of the papers on the desk. Assuming the gem isn't obviously cursed, Jiggo will also inspect it.
GM Lamplighter |
1d4 ⇒ 2
The gem appears to be a nice piece of cut alexandrite, with a powerful continual flame spell cast on it. (Heightened to 3rd level!)
The papers are largely written in Azlanti, but the few that are not seem to be the notes of Eylyssia, the Pathfinder who was hoarding her knowledge. There are files on dozens of unknown sites which once decoded will be a valuable resource for the Society.
Traflet |
Traflet stares in awe at the gemstone, and it is several moments before he can tear his eyes away in order to begin going through the notes. This stuff looks really interesting, and probably really helpful for the Society. Should we gather these up and bring them back to the Lodge?
Dailung |
"Indeed. This will at least get us a smile from our superiors!"
Jiggo Maelerant |
"I can't read most of it, but it looks like we have what we've come for."
Jiggo helps carefully collect the gem and the papers.
"The venture captain should be quite happy, eh? Whenever we find him."
GM Lamplighter |
You collect up the papers and books, and head back through the tunnel to the shrine. As you exit the shrine into the main hall, you see a group of three humanoids entering the hall from the main stairs. They see you as you see them, and you can tell that they somehow recognize you.
The "leader", a half-elven woman carrying a dagger, points at you and shouts, "It's the Pathfinders, just like she told us! Kill then and take their precious books!"
The other two, a hulking Shoanti with a greatclub and a robed man carrying a morning star, prepare for battle.

Kazzak Ebonheart |
Sorry was attending a confrence and WiFi at the Hotel was 10 € a day...
You'll regret that biatch! Kazzak threatens the Half Elf.
Go get her Puss!
Garikai Frendosherks. |
Garikai watches her, holding his action (but ready to use his shield to guard anyone who is under attack and is still next to him.)
"Magic missiles, no doubt," he replied. "I'd say I'm impressed, lady, but I'm not."
Holding his action. If she fires a magic missile again, he will counter by moving in front of the target and casting his Shield spell, which defeats magic missiles.
Traflet |
Traflet draws his crossbow and mutters quietly to himself. Instantly a bluish force-field appears around him, creating a small protective bubble.
He'll cast mage armor.
Kazzak Ebonheart |
Kazzak mumbles the words of a prayer and steps up alongside Puss baring his wepon in a defensive stance.
Cast divine favor. Move to cover and threaten at 10 foot reach.
Dailung |
Moving forward Dailung smiles, drawing her rapier.
Jiggo Maelerant |
Readying his quarterstaff, Jiggo closes in and casts bless. "Kill us? Haha! Erastil protects his flock against fools like you."
bless Grants +1 bonuses to attacks, skill checks and saving throws against fear. Will last 1 minute (10 rounds, basically)
GM Lamplighter |
Round 1 (continued)
Jiggo closes in and casts a spell. "Kill us? Haha! Erastil protects his flock against fools like you."
Dailung moves forward, draws her rapier, and smiles.
Traflet draws his crossbow and mutters quietly to himself. Instantly a bluish force-field appears around him, creating a small protective bubble.
Kazzak mumbles the words of a prayer and steps up alongside Puss baring his weapon in a defensive stance.
Bless is in effect, +1 to attacks and saves versus fear. You're responsibility to remember it!
The Shoanti watches the enemy deploy, and sizes up the competition. He then lets out a battle cry and charges Jiggo, spittle flying!
greatclub, rage, power attack, charge: 1d20 + 5 + 2 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 2 - 1 + 2 = 26damage, rage, power attack, charge: 1d10 + 3 + 2 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 2 + 3 + 2 = 18
Jiggo crumples under the fury of the onslaught, hitting the ground hard and not moving.
The robed man mutters some arcane syllables and spreads his hands over the room.
From behind the pillar, a halfling steps out of cover and throws an object at Dailung! ranged touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 The object misses and bursts nearby, scattering a sticky goo all over the floor. The halfling looks disappointed that his trick failed, and he brandishes his rapier at Dailung.
Piety is up, Garikai is still on delay! New initiative order: half-elf, Garikai, Jiggo, Dailung, Traflet, Kazzak, Puss, Shoanti, robed man, halfling, Piety.
Jiggo Maelerant |
Jiggo is clobbered against the stone pilllar and hits something hard.
Damn you charge! My only weakness!
Stabilize, DC 19: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Using my inspired ability to reroll
Stabilize, DC 19: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Nope! Now at -10 out of -12!
Dailung |
Sorry to ask... but did you add 2 to bonusdamage for charging?
Waiting for Piety and Garikai.
GM Lamplighter |
Piety hasn't posted since Feb 22, so I'm NPC'ing the character until they check in.
Piety advances and casts cause fear on the barbarian. Will save: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 2 + 1 = 23 The Shoanti's eyes go wide for a moment, but he shakes it off and looks at Piety with murder in his eyes.
End of Round 1!
Jiggo Maelerant |
Jiggo attempts to stabilize. Also, I thought that was a fort save, when it's actually a Con check. Didn't affect my failures, though.
Con check, DC 18: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Nope! Jiggo is at -9 of -12.
Dailung |
Seeing her friend being attacked Dailung moves forward to engage the barbarian.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 111d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 Well he was charging and is raging...there is hope
Garikai Frendosherks. |
Immediately, Garikai heads toward Jiggo, and kneels beside him.
He smiles, finally glad to be of use. Calmly, he touches Jiggo, releasing the power of nature that he knows so well to ensure Jiggo's stabilization and reverse part of his serious damage. It's going to take a second application, naturally, perhaps even a third, but this is a beginning.
Cure Lt. Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
"I'm here, mate. Just relax. I'll keep you safe, and patch you up."
At least Garikai is good for something. He is a medic. And more importantly, because Jiggo is immediately next to him, he can protect him with his shield, so Jiggo is not helpless. No coup de grace here.
Jiggo Maelerant |
I think there's an extra 20 in that Cure Light Wounds...although I wouldn't mind getting 29 hp lol
Garikai Frendosherks. |
Fixed that. Though it would be splendid if I could heal D28 damage. . . At least the cure spells automatically stabilize a patient. The trick is keeping you alive for the next turn so I can cast another one. You may need all three, which would deplete my stock, but, hey, maybe when we reach level 2 I'll multi-class as cleric or witch so I'll have lots more cure spells.
Jiggo Maelerant |
Many thanks, Garikai! Jiggo may be a sissy but he's a (currently) living sissy!
Garikai's efforts pay off as Jiggo's wounds stabilize.
Kazzak Ebonheart |
Puss moves in on the shoanti while Kazzak has plenty of time to live out his dislike for halflings on a particularly unpleasent specimen.
While Kazzak is way to angry to focus Puss pulls a mean trick on the shoanti and assault him from behind and leaves the man shaken.
Puss and Kazzak both move and attack Kazzak threatens. Attack Kazzack1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Damage 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 Puss attack 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24 Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 Rattling Strike if attack succesful shaken 1d4 ⇒ 3 rounds also free trip 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
GM Lamplighter |
Round 2 (continued)
Garikai, Jiggo, Dailung, Traflet, Kazzak, Puss are up!
Garikai heads toward Jiggo, and kneels beside him. "I'm here, mate. Just relax. I'll keep you safe, and patch you up."
Jiggo lies there, but he has stopped bleeding.
Dailung moves forward to engage the barbarian, but her attack just misses.
Traflet delays.
Kazzak moves in and attacks the Shonati, but misses.
[b]Puss heads in to attack as well, but doesn't seem to comprehend the complex maneuvers Kazzak has planned. Puss doesn't have the "Flank" trick, so all she can do is move in and attack. The cat tears into the Shoanti, who falls to the ground, shaken by the fury of the assault.
The Shoanti swings his greatclub from the ground at Dailung, just hitting! greatclub, shaken, prone, bless: 1d20 + 6 - 2 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 - 2 - 4 + 1 = 19damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 He then stands up, provoking attacks from those surrounding him.
AO - Dailung: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
AO - Kazzak: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
AO - Puss: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
He falls under the weight of the attacks.
The robed man opens a scroll and casts a spell.
Spellcraft - Garikai: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Spellcraft - Piety: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Spellcraft - Traflet: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
The halfling steps inside Kazzak's reach and stabs him with his rapier. rapier, bless: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 1 = 19damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Piety is up!
Dailung |
The post saying I will do a Dodging Panache, was eaten, my fault, my problem, have to live with it. But She will do it next time she is attacked.
Dailung will attack the Halfling trying to end this danger
Riposte: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 221d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Traflet |
Whoops, my bad. I didn't realize it was my turn. If it's okay with you, I'll take my action now.
Traflet moves a little closer to the fray, still trying to avoid harm's reach, and he slides a small bolt into his crossbow.
Garikai Frendosherks. |
Garikai will put all of his attention on the healing and, if necessary, protection of his patient, Jiggo.
For now, Cure Lt. Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
I believe his hit points are now at positive 7, which should wake Jiggo up. Am I correct in this assessment?
If I am, Garikai then stands to the side, ready to offer Jiggo immediate defense with his shield, as his patient revives, having been brought back to the world of the living.
"Not all at once. You're still fragile and I've only one healing spell left. Stay behind me."
Jiggo Maelerant |
Jiggo's eyes flutter awake and he coughs. "Garikai? Thank you. That club packs a mean punch!"
Not sure if it's Jiggo's turn yet. Also, is The Shoanti still near us? There's an icon to the right I don't recognize...
