Mireille gasps as Sanja and Shera relay the bad news. "Hurry, there is a secret exit over here. Marked on map S Lets get out of here. If we can sneak past them, or get past them without them seeing me, well, all the better. I have a place nearby that I can use as a safehouse. Get me there, please. Marked on map, T Don't fight them unless you have to, I don't want to see you get in as much (or more) trouble as I am in!!!

I fail to see what your intent here is. Your group is in combat. Amarandlon's spell started combat. They are going to be coming in the door (or around, or something, who knows?) There is nothing to be gained here by 'feinging' a fight with a fellow companion.....

Continuing to press their attack, Blue and Green continue their assault on Rodala. They have seen one flee completely, and another back away. They think that they are winning. Red, hypnotized, lowers his weapon and doesn't attack. He can't figure out why. He just, well, doesn't want to.

Roldala has the Hunting Lodge vanity, which gives her the option to use Survival. It's found in the Pathfinder Society Field Guide, page 61.

Text:

Hunting Lodge (2 PP): You are a master hunter and have been recognized as such by being invited to join an elite hunting lodge. As a member, you may take part in special hunts for rare and exotic prey each year, both on restricted hunting grounds and in the wild. You can use Survival to make Day Job rolls.

If I recall correctly, I believe the Hunting Lodge vanity allows a PC to use Survival as a Day Job skill.

I think I'm starting to understand how these cards work. So dor Let Bygone's Be, I crossed off a box "[] Resolve a combat encounter nonviolently..." as we negotiated our way past the leshys. That's fine?

Now I have a box that says "[] Undermine a rival entrepreneur or merchant so that you can claim his market share." Do I have to actually meet a merchant during the scenario or is it assumed to happen 'off-screen'?
I have another goal which specifically states "a named NPC merchant" so I assume for that one I actually do have to meet someone.

Anyway, assuming I can, I'd like to attempt to undermine a rival merchant...
Profession (Merchant) DC 19: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
... And I guess this is a question for future reference, so at least there's nothing for you to amend on my chronicle sheet.

I think the rival merchant does have to be undermined in play (or at least in the epilogue while we wrap up the scenario) - my understanding is that only the goals which are worked on in lieu of a Day Job don't have to happen during a session.

Grand Lodge

There are several scenarios that interact with Merchants (in one form or another). Glass River Rescue, for example. Or, Consortium Compact. That is what they are talking about....

There are slim odds that my lvl 5 will finish their scenario before March 1st. If I can I will attempt to do that, it makes the upcoming Outpost suduko easier. So I'll going to hold off committing between a lvl 3 or a lvl 5 until the 1st. If you start the briefing before I commit, I'll be using the lvl 3.

Grand Lodge

Honestly, I'd almost love to see the level 5 join in, and I don't care what it is. That would, without a doubt, put the group in the full high tier game, and not the 4 player variant, which would make it a different, and more enjoyable, experience for all.

I am going to strongly suggest you guys take a moment or two (like a day or two at least) to get some plans and ideas together on how to deal with guards. We can retcon it to plans on the boat without issue. Do you go in swords drawn and kill everyone? Do you explore everything you can then execute a plan? Do you stealth and sneak around?

Thanks, Emmjay. Talk of killing aside, I'm in favor of maintaining the cover story as long as possible. Exploring, making friends with the guards, getting a good lay of the land, then trying to find a way to do this with discretion.

All that said, I'm game for anything.

Poe definitely leaves the Wayfinder on the ship.

I vote for exploring, with our guide, then taking each of the guards down in a methodical and hopefully nonlethal fashion. While Min is more bloodthirsty than most, he recognizes that killing willy-nilly will only bring more heat down upon them and the Society.

Roldala will grumble about how it's all going to come down to killing them anyways, but I definitely think scouting the place out, hopefully finding our intended rescuees, has to come before we start taking down guards. No matter how subtle we are about that, eventually someone will notice that there aren't as many of them as there were...

Agreed. If we can just get our guide alone, Amarandlon does know charm person and could try it on him (or on any given, random guard who's alone). That should help get us access...though if he happens to have a high will save it could be a problem.

I agree with all of the above. If we can stick to our story and get the lay of the place without raising suspicion, then rely on stealth or charms to fulfill our mission, we might be abke to get out of the prison before anyone knows something’s up. And if we’re caught, we try and take out whoever has caught us as quickly and quietly as possible. We have our silence scroll up our sleeve to muffle the first combat at least.

As I am sure that everyone here is aware, Paizo has decided to not support Pathfinder in its current form, instead later this year release and promote its new form, 2E.

As a player (and GM) who has spent tons of time, energy, and effort in playing, promoting by GMing, and paying this game, I think that that is a complete slap in the face. Especially since they have stated that when 2e comes out that they will stop supporting and producing content for 1e. That is a slap in the face to me, the paying player.

As such, I am done being a GM. I am not going to support a company by using their products and leading groups of players if they are going to abandon us. I am sorry that it has come to this, but quite frankly I'm pissed off with them right now.

Sorry to everyone concerned.

I am sorry to hear you are throwing in the GM towel Emmjay.

I was devastated to wake to the news that Paizo were bringing out a second addition. Pathfinder has always been my favourite system, not least because its rules have remained consistent throughout my eight years of play.

I'm personally taking comfort in the fact that there are still many adventures left for me to play and GM in the 1E back catalogue, as well as countless 3pp resources to explore.

For me, now is not the time to give up on a product I love so dearly.
I do hope you will do us the honour of guiding us to the conclusion of this trilogy before you depart. I can understand your frustration though, and will respect your decision either way.
