Cornelia lets out a sigh of relief once they finally make it safely to the safe house. Before doing anything else, she quickly goes about a very regimented routine of smoothing out any wrinkles in her clothing and securing any stray wisps of hair back into the tight tail at the back of her head. Once done she lets out a sigh of relief. "I hope those fools do not get caught."

Green, now able to see, note that both him and Blue are covered in blood, and that many more enemies are coming at them. "Lets get out of here, it isn't worth dying over to stay here!" Both Green and Blue withdraw and flee the area. Red, still hypnotized, doesn't do much but stand there.

Rodala, if you desire you can still get an AOO against either Blue or Green. Not that it will do much but assuage your anger.

Zefiro, once everyone has gathered back, tells you all of a major piece of evidence that he has found. Slide 10, Handout #2 He also thanks you greatly, and time and time again, for getting Mireille to safety.

Zefiro informs you that are welcomed to spend your last night at the West Drenches’ Wicked Fork. It’s a weatherworn building marked by a trident with the central tine broken off and run by a talkative proprietor, Neld Havasavu. When you awake the following day, you find Cassian already downstairs, drinking at the bar. His disheveled clothes, damp hair, and grimy brow suggest he’s had an industrious morning—or perhaps just a sleepless night. After he downs another shot, he informs you that he’s through sneaking around for Zarta. He tells you that he met with her contact, the same Tamrin Credence they met at the docks, and delivered Zarta’s message. Neld inches closer as you all speak, working over a glass with a dirty dishrag.

Cassian continues, “Then I come back here and find that rat is an agent for the Aspis Consortium!” Neld leans in and states, “Well, that’s what I heard, anyway. His ties go back— way back. But that’s how it goes around here. Everyone ties their cart somewhere, you know?” Cassian tells you he couldn’t sleep, fearing that Zarta is slipping into old habits too quickly. He collected their supplies early that morning to keep his mind off these developments. You find everything is loaded and ready for the trip to the Eismonts.

SLIDE 11 - EMBERHOLD SURFACE

Little remains of the town of Anglemire. Nature is reclaiming the few sturdy stone buildings still visible from the coastline. At the north end of the city, where the Eismont foothills meet with the rocky steps of the Menador Mountains, is a short square tower surrounded by the crumbling walls of Emberhold. Thick curtains of lush, green ivy reach upward from an ocean of waving grass and cling to the cracked stone walls—all that remain of the keep.

If there was any last minute shopping (or planning) to be done before leaving, do it now. You also have time to go to the boat to pick up anything that you left there. We will continue when everyone has checking in by posting, as well as placed their marker on SLIDE 11, at/near the entrance to Emberhold, though players are free to walk around/observe the entire structure if you so wish to do so..

The first thing Roldala does upon arriving at the Wicked Fork is demand a tub or basin to scrub the blood from her skin and tools.
The next morning she's thrilled to discover Cassian has taken care of preparing her real weapon and the rest of the supplies, but just scowls blackly as he raises his concerns about Zarta. Can't say I'm too surprised.

Looks like there's a fair number of windows, what sorts of things can we see through there?

Finding part of the structure collapsed, she takes a look around the rubble to see if she can catch a glimpse inside.

A fire long ago removed the roof and floors of Emberhold’s great hall. Five thick columns still stand amidst a dense gourd patch at the bottom of the large pit that remains. The main doorway on the south side is flanked by two stone staircases that wrap around the interior of the west and east walls, much of which have crumbled to the ground. To the northwest is a square tower that’s only partially standing. Weeds have overgrown a doorway on the east wall, which breaks on the northeast corner for a wide set of stairs descending from the ground level. A rusty iron gate still stands at the center of the pit’s northern wall, rising from the densest portion of the gourd patch and fencing off a descending set of stairs.

Sanja, you swear you hear some sort of scream or wail or something being tormented or tortured from below, coming from the gate across the hall.

As you also see, the place is overgrown with weeds and gourds.

Everyone inside, I need a Profession (Gardner) or Know(Nature) check, please.....

Well, good news for the group is that Cornelia knows quite a bit about what you are facing here. While it is a field of gourds, and a quite well tended field, hidden within are several Grand Gourd Leshys. Generally quite docile and friendly, they tend to stay hidden unless intruded upon, or their fields damaged (which they take great pride in maintaining). They are very good at collecting, repairing, and maintaining items thanks to their Keepsake ability.
