Hidden among the back alleys and tent stalls of Katapesh, there are tales of one Yin Hu. Precious few ever see Yin Hu coming or going, and her stall often moves throughout the bazaar. She is small--many say she must be some kind of gnome, although others describe her as looking like a stunted gnoll. They rarely describe her as that twice. Most of the time, however, she keeps herself tightly cloaked, looking like some kind of hunchback.
And yet, the various descriptions of her appearance, and the inconstancy of where her shop is located, increase the allure of her destination. Yet even though this is enough for the seasoned adventurer or dealer in chance, it is not all that make her sought out by noble and commoner alike. She is reputed to have some of the best deals in all of Golarion. This is because although she will accept coin, she prefers to deal in action. If you find something you like in Yin Hu's stall, and you haggle, she is likely to make you an astounding offer for merely a pittance! But for every deal, there is an action. She will require that some service be performed. Some of them are small, such as buying meals for the next ten beggars you meet, and some are great, such as slaying a local group of cultists to Rovagug. What will she offer? No one knows.
Character Generation:
Ability scores: 20 point buy.
Race: Human, gnome, halfling, suli, gnoll, catfolk, ratfolk. For the gnoll, we will use John Mangrum's version. Note that they get -2 Int, NOT -2 Cha. The catfolk and ratfolk are rare, but present. If you must try a different race, I'll listen, but don't think that this means you can let in anything.
Class: anything from the PRD will be considered.
Equipment: average starting.
Languages: "Common" in this case, will be Osiriani. Kelesh, Vudrani, and Polyglot will also be human languages of importance.
Traits: Choose 2 traits from different categories. I will give the chosen players a third campaign trait, based on how they will fit with the campaign start.
Basic background: The adventure will begin in and around the wandering stall of the eccentric Yin Hu, purveyor of odds, ends, antiques, trifles, and if the rumors are correct, services that seem to be impossible.
Questions, hopes, characters?

PbP game, right here, starting at first level. Posting once a day.
My style is cinematic and RP-heavy, even in the midst of combat. I will endeavor to provide combat maps, but cannot always promise them. So combats will be a bit more on style than substance. I like to vary the challenges in many different ways, with chases, combats, skill challenges, tough choices, anything that gets the blood pumping. As far as style, in this case, I'll be going for an Arabian Nights feel (as the title suggests).
I'm also a big believer that heroes are made from the choices they make, not necessarily from the outcome of those choices. Although I'm not restricting alignment, I'm looking for PCs who are ready to be heroes.
Hope this helps!

I was playing a gnome sorcerer (for a week) as my first pbp before it died. :-/ The game, not the gnome. (this alias, tho)
I'd love to resurrect him here. I appreciate the RP heavy style, especially as I'm a wee bit new to pathfinder, and like the RP aspect.
Will update to make sure he hits your specs after work.

I'm also rather interested in this. Probably a catfolk or suli, as those both interest me... however, would you allow dhampir, on the premise that even Indian culture IRL has vampire-like creatures, which are also in Pathfinder? If not, that's fine, but I like dhampir :)
Probably going with a skilful character, most likely a rogue or something similar.

Eesh... OK, I hate to step on another potential player's toes but I may have to. Sorry. I'm intrigued to play a Gnoll and the three best options I found from an RP and thematic POV were:
Gnoladin - a Gnoll Paladin. It's just too whacky an idea not to make me smile. However, I think that really stretches believability, so I've tossed it out in favor of:
Gnoll Ranger (2-Handed Combat Style) and no archetype. It fits thematically, racially, and in my preferred playstyle - lightly-armored and fast. And a Hyena animal companion is just too cute. The looser alignment options (than Paladin) also open up some very fun RP possibilities.
I believe someone else pitched a ranger so if that doesn't fly with you IIV, I could switch from a Ranger to:
Gnoll Fighter (2-Handed archetype) - it lacks the versatility, fun spells, and interesting ranger stuff for more of a straight-up slug-festing machine.
Thoughts?

I am also interested. I, like Stormraven, am also interested in playing a gnoll - though fortunately our ideas vary considerably.
Gnoll Magus (either staff master or Kensai) who has taken up the arcane arts in a quest to uplift his otherwise savage and unsophisticated people.
Gnoll Monk - would be an outsider to his kind, probably raised by a human monestary.

:) Truth to tell, I considered Magus. I also played with Gnoll Samurai briefly.
If three or more gnolls get accepted, it will become a gnollathon or gnollapallooza.

I think Kitchikez, a Ratfolk Rogue (Survivalist) would be a blast. Furtive, survivor, and sneak. Raised in and around Katapesh, Kitchikez hopes to join the adventure and find his fortunes... or some bread.
Attributes:
Strength : 09 (+0)
Dexterity : 16 (+3)
Constitution : 16 (+3)
Intelligence : 12 (+1)
Wisdom : 13 (+1)
Charisma : 10 (+0)
So Kitch learned to keep his tears inside, and soon began making forays of his own into the caravans. The guards paid him little notice, he and his mother occasionally slinking into camp to search the garbage pails of the merchants and the guards. It was during these nights that Kitch would hone his skills of sneaking in the shadows, and take the favorite toys or one of the shoes of the spoiled merchant children. "What thief would steal a child's toy or take only one shoe when there was wealth and jewels available?" the parents would say as they switched their children's behinds, and Kitch watched a good distance from the camp, the wails of the brat music to his furry ears.
GM - If you like the concept thus far I'll flesh out the character completely.

Aasimars are allowed? I assumed only the races you listed were allowed.
I didn't say aasimars are allowed. I've just been presented with an aasimar as a possible PC.
DaWay, I would prefer a human. Also, just to let you (and everyone else) know, the blackened curse isn't in the PRD. It's in the d20PFSRD and it's straightforward, so I'll allow it, but I did stipulate PRD.

Everyone:
On formatting: although I find the stat block presentation useful for an NPC or monster, I find it less valuable for a PC. I like being able to trace how the character was built--especially with a spelling out of where all the bonuses come from. It's a bit more work in putting together, but it's very convenient for review, whenever you gain a level, and when certain conditions apply--you can tell at a glance what needs adding or subtracting.
I'll post a sample character to show you my preferred layout.

Shaggar |

"If these entrails speak true," acknowledged the grey muzzled hag, "then a War Leader you shall be in your time. Rovagug favors you."
Shaggar (Shuh-GAR) eyed the patterns in the Suli's steaming rope of intestines and grunted, having no reason to doubt the seer's words. Even as a whelp, his strength and cunning were well known (Trait: Killer) - showing his worth to the clan and ensuring his future. But the hag's prophecy would be proved untrue by the young gnoll's arrogance, intellect (INT), and - most especially - his naivete.
Destined to lead as he thought he was, Shaggar turned his mind to the problems and needs of his clan: the struggle for food, the toil of constant raiding, and the cost of continuous skirmishes with the muzzle-less races. The results were plain to see - their clan was growing weaker and smaller. He reached a conclusion. What would best serve his people was a truce with their closest enemies, one that provided a chance to study them to learn how they continued to flourish depite the warfare.
The Fall...
Shaggar openly advocated the need for a truce in council. He trusted that the prophecy and his destiny would make this revolutionary idea take root. He expected that the hag-seers, having seen his glorious fate, would support his call for reform. He failed to realise that the seers were the power behind every War Leader. And he assumed they weren't charlatans that would twist any foretelling to serve their own purposes. He was monumentally mistaken.
Shaggar was denounced by his people, by the elders, by their War Leaders, and most certainly by the hag-seers who declared that even mighty Rovagug stood against his heretical and cowardly ideas. Shaggar was branded an outcast and traitor - a Blackmaw - and driven from the clan's lands on pain of death.
The Blackmaw...
Cast out by his people and betrayed by his god through Rovagug's faithless servants, Shaggar has rejected his former god (Religion: Atheist) and works to carve a place out among his former enemies. Being without clan, pack, or friends over the last two years has tested his mettle (Indomitable Faith - reskinned a little) and his worldview (alignment shift).
.
Now, Shaggar moves quietly among Katapesh's muzzle-less citizens to continue his reconnaisance mission in the hope that some day he may rejoin and lead his clan towards a lasting truce. In the meantime, he works to find packmates among his neighbors while he hunts among the 'citified' gnolls - to ferret out and slay infiltrators and scouts.
Appearance
Shaggar is a tall and well-muscled gnoll with a rangy build. His ruffed fur is in shades of patchy brown and dirty yellow. His muzzle is a deep black. His red eyes shine out in stark contrast.

Regarding races and extra feats, etc. for everyone:
I've mentioned what I'm looking for above. I've given a race list, and asked for PRD besides. If you want to add to it, it'll be easiest if it's small, straightforward, in theme for Arabian Nights, and available via d20PFSRD.
So, that's why I'm willing to say yes to the blackened curse and no to the periblooded aasimar. I'm not sure what to think about the dhampir, but if there's a good way to make it Arabian Nights themed, I'll think about it. Right now, I'm inclined to say no.
Also, remember that you're trying to get chosen over other possible characters. The easier it is for me, the easier it is for me to pick you.
I'll be reviewing and asking questions of PCs during the week next week.
