I like IPAs too, though they're kind of saturating the market right now. I've started to actively look for alternatives. If I run out of time to make a character before start of play I'm going to clone my level one pfs inquisitor to play, otherwise I'd like to make something new and fun given the extended time frame for this adventure. Does anybody else know what they'd like to play?

I'd like to participate. I'll be on the road a fair bit for the first couple weeks but should be able to keep up with daily posting. I'll put a character up soon if you like.

Interested!

This sounds awesome to me. Seems like a good place to start out a fresh PFS character. As you can see by the posts so far, I'm sure you'll get more interest than you can handle. Are you going to have a selection process or go with first come first served? By my count I'm 6th on the list :)

About Ratfolk:

Well that's very cool DM. I'd really like to come up with a concept that works with that, since it represents an uncommon roleplaying opportunity. Ratfolk's status as hunted and marked for extermination suggests that a ratfolk pc had better be able to conceal their presence if they want to live long. Thankfully stealth isn't hard for them, but the role seems to suggest a skills character. Alternatively an Illusion specialized Mage of the Veil with Face in the Crowd and the disguise skill might be able to pull off appearing as a member of a more inoffensive small sized race most of the time.

DM, can I ask how you see ratfolk's place in the city? It's interesting that you include them. I'm not aware of any lore that places them in Kintargo in large numbers but they're one of my favorites.

Hi! This is a great place you've got going here! I'd like to sign up for 4-11 the Disappeared.

I like the setting. I'm one of those poor benighted souls who think that ratfolk are cool. I also want to try a wizard. So, ratfolk wizard maybe? Ooh, or maybe a sage-blooded sorcerer.

Both the varisian caravan and Sandpoint native concepts are good hooks for a common background. I suggested a common religion because Jacob's post seemed to be looking for a group that wanted to take an extra step towards thematic consistency. Certainly a varisian caravan could fill that roll with mechanics and backgrounds carefully crafted to reflect that specific life style. In that case the exclusion of non-human backgrounds can be seen as a strength rather than a weakness (though again, you probably wouldn't find a paladin or a monk).

I think AP begins with the Swallowtail Festival, right? The party could consist of followers of Desna. That would be explicitly tied to the setting and less general than all Varisian, though more limiting (and might preclude paladins and monks).

I think it sounds fun, a chance to develop a character in a very organic way. I shall keep my eye on this. I'm sure you'll attract all the interest you can handle.

I feel a bit late to the party here, but I'm a PbP rookie who would love to get his feet wet. I've been looking at playing a druid or oracle. but I can imagine having fun with just about any class.
