With the heart of the Stolen Lands explored and the bandits who ruled there scattered, the long-contested realm finally lies open for pioneers and settlers to stake their claims.:
Amid the rush of opportunistic travelers, the PCs find themselves stewards over a new domain, tasked with the responsibility of guiding and guarding a fledgling nation struggling to grow upon a treacherous borderland. Yet the threats to this new nation quickly prove themselves greater than mere bandits and wild beasts, as the monstrous natives of the hills and forests rampage forth to slaughter all who have trespassed upon their territory. Can the PCs hold the land they’ve fought so hard to explore and tame? Or will their legend be just one more lost to the fangs of the Stolen Lands?

Scarlet very quickly dashes into the tavern through the back door, past the cook and in front of her friends, while wielding her stick. She kicks dirt as she runs through the back and into the tavern. She notices the bleeding man and Alia's red blade, and the two remaining thugs.

"Heh. I guess you're keeping the sword arm fresh, Alia. Did me and Zokon miss anything?" She does a quick jig.

That's 70 movement. Scarlet's Fast Movement gives her 40 ft of movement, so she double moved. Maintaining Bloodrage.

This turned uglier than I expected. But I daren't start fires here.

Alia fully intends to not lose anyone else she cares about, and any such threats will be met with extreme prejudice.(Well, it was a crit. Bad luck for Wyne, I suppose).

Posh takes note of Alia's reaction and nods.

Considering what just happened I think Posh is more concerned about Alia than he is chasing people down. Not like he can do much if he did catch up to them.

Posh puts his weapon away and then turns his gaze to Alia.

Numalar and Zokon (for free), or anyone who can make a Knowledge (local) DC 10 check:
That depends on a few things. You could probably flash your charters and point to the sap in his hand and call it good, maybe throw a few coins at the problem to make sure, but if these guys are working for someone higher up the ladder, say a city official, guard captain, nobleman or very rich merchant, you might be in for some trouble. How much, depends on relative power and influence.

After about three straight shots (for her nerves you see), the barmaid seems to calm down. A number of diners make to leave--for quieter taprooms you'd guess.

Posh puts his weapon away and then turns his gaze to Alia.

"Are you alright?" he steps close for a second, but stops himself remembering the look in her face just then. "I was afraid they were being honest too. I'm glad Scarlet and Zokon are fine." he gives one of his bright smiles as he says this in an attempt to calm her down.

"I...am fine. Thank you. I just...i knew this was a rough land...but...I am not used to death." Not ones caused by me, at least...with the archer at the bandit camp, it was him or me...this guy?...whole different story... With Level 1 and the first time out of Kyonin, I expect that Alia will not have killed any sentient beings before joining the game, as such, its somewhat of a big deal to her. I don't mean to dwell on it too long, but it would feel wrong to just ignore such an event, shrug and move on

Alia fails to register the Bar Maids reaction, instead staring at her comrades, Red, and Wyne, then repeatedly wipes her blade clean in a meditative trance before resheathing it.

Before Posh walks off...

Posh nods his head as he understands.
"I know. I almost lost control myself, but our friends are fine." he states, reaching up as high as he can on his toes to try and tap her on the back in a comforting way. He stops for a moment as someone grabs his attention and he silently leaves her behind.

"I'll do as you wish, friends if you get chance buy some more food, rope and arrows please"

Zokon will grab his gear and lead Alia out of town to camp out in the woods.

Had you said this aloud, Numalar would get beet-red and shout "I am NOT flirting! This girl could be my great-grand-daughter!" :)

Numalar is being pulled in multiple directions at once, but overhears this. He quietly says to Alia: "That wouldn't hurt, but I think you will be all right. After all," Numalar's voice rises. "A visiting noblewoman from Kyonin can hardly be expected to tolerate such behaviour from someone so below her station. He struck you and swore at you. Your behaviour is justified." Numalar turns on Red, and points. "Isn't that right?"

If we can get Red here to publicly admit this then I figure with the dueling culture of Brevoy we are probably mostly off the hook.

"And just what exactly," Numalar says thoughtfully, "were you afraid we might tell the magister? What could Mung possibly have told us that would trouble you?"

Numalar looks him up and down and seems about to turn away, but then turns back. "I do hope you realize what you just said here. You have basically admitted that you hoped to obstruct the flow of justice here in Restov. The magister may be interested that a band of ruffians is threatening and assaulting those who come to see him."

"So perhaps you should explain to the lady here" (Numalar indicates Scarlet) "Just who put you up to this, and why."

It seems a variety of things are competing for my attention so I'll leave the rest of the interrogation to Scarlet.

Numalar turns back to the bar, and gives the barkeep a tired look. "I appreciate your understanding, good man. But I think I need something stronger."

Numalar pulls out a handful of gold coins (we'll say 25) and drops them on the bar.

"By Macrathane's Codpiece! Give me a shot of the strongest thing you've got. Something that will take me back to the glory days of Rostland."

"Honestly, we thought this was a better neighbourhood. Do you know who these fellows were? Or get this kind of thing much in here? Perhaps you should send someone to summon the watch. Or an undertaker."

Guys, it will help smooth things over with the innkeeper if we overpay significantly here, so be prepared to throw some money around.

He turns back to the young lady. "I'm so sorry, my dear; where were we?"

"But what about you, Lady Vijic? If you are indeed from Varisia, you have traveled far more widely than I have. Did you come by caravan? Or did you go by sea to Taldor, and then up the Sellen River?"

Numalar is flattered by the attention, but he is not so vain to think that it is normal for a young human to express interest in a 100-year old lava gnome. So he will continue the conversation but keep trying to push the topic back to Naleska and less about himself.

You do have time to leave if want, not much now but some. It would be hard not to spot the tiger, and pretty much everyone in the room knows that it is there.

Alia and Zokon seem to be leaving Restov's walls, anyone else going?

Posh:
"No hag anymore, I'm solo now. Come on in here. The kitchen's safe--aside from all the knives laying around that is." She half sits on a barrel motioning for you to sit next to her on some produce crates.

The barkeep turns to his server. "What are you doing?"

She looks a bit befuddled for a moment and then starts to protest when the barkeep interrupts. "I said get the good stuff, not this swill!"

Then he turns back to Numalar. "Sorry she's new, I had to fire my last girl for breaking the crockery."

He fixes up an alchemical concoction he calls The Flaming Burst Broadsword for you and Naleksa, and anyone else daring enough to blow out the 10-inch flames that dance upon its surface and down one.

"My stable boy is already on his way to the nearest guard post. The one over there still standing is Red, he's one of the Scarred Shadows, the city's thieves' guild." He says gravely.
