"Seeing as it is all clear now, Alia is awaiting someone to retrieve her and thankyou Posh for the information"
"I was worried about you two. Anyways, I don't feel comfortable in the temple anyway. Too much of that 'holiness' in there, right?"
Posh smiled up at Zokon. He then looks back at the doors then to Zokon. "let's get out of here and get Alia. Don't want to have her worrying if we're locked up or something."Bluff: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

"Do lets, right after we organise a rendezvous with our friends, i'll be back presently"
Zokon walks into the temple

Scarlet Scarab |

If Scarlet were there, she'd finally have a chance to figure it out.
Scarlet nods to the Shepherd and tells Numular to pay him his due. She then waits for Faeria to wake up.
"Hey. Um. Remember me? Name's Scarlet. You mumbled something about mites after blasting my friends here with magic something. Rings any bells?"

"Mites?" The woman looks confused, her whole body language seems completely different from the languid dreamer she was a moment before. Now she seems more like a small, frightened animal. She shies away from Scarlet. And then, looking down at herself, looks like she might have tried running from what she saw if it were possible.

Scarlet Scarab |

Numalar and Posh are the two talkers, and neither are available for this. Guess it's up to me not to mess up.
Going too fast, girl. She has no idea who you are.
"Whoa. Lemme take it slow." Scarlet shakes her head. "You've spent the last few days ranting about pretty colors and seeing things no one else could. It's been rough, eh? I was in solitude for several years, myself. It ain't easy, sometimes."
She looks around the room. "I guess what I'm saying is, me and my friends helped you see the truth. Alright? You have the power to make informed decisions. What will you do with it?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Will update Loot Page shortly.
Numalar and Posh are the two talkers, and neither are available for this. Guess it's up to me not to mess up.
Sorry I was out of town for the Weekend but in the morning Numalar would have tagged along to the church of Erastil.
"...I guess what I'm saying is, me and my friends helped you see the truth. Alright? You have the power to make informed decisions. What will you do with it?"
Scarlet patiently waits for a response.
"You seem like you don't know where you are, or who we are. Let me explain."
"You are at the church of Erastil in the City of Restov. I am Numalar Auritonius, and these are my companions Celyne and Scarlet." Numalar bows. "When we found you, you were, erm... not in your right mind. You had fallen in with a bad group of people, bandits actually, who took advantage of your situation to get you to help them with your magic. There was a battle, and if it were not for Celyne here, you would have died of your wounds."
"The bandits are now dead or awaiting sentence for their crimes. But considering the fact that you may not have known what you were doing, instead of turning you over to the authorities, we decided to bring you here, where Shepherd Keegh was able to cure you of your madness."
"I don't know what you remember of that time, if anything. But there is no rush to go into that. Is there somewhere we can take you, or anything you would like to do? The choice is yours."
Diplomacy (aiding Scarlet): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Celyne |

"While Pharasma worshippers might disagree, your future is not written in stone, you may make of your life what you will, now that your sense of self is restored... Which of many paths will you follow, Faeria?"

Shepherd Keegh puts a big calloused hand on her shoulder. "There, there girl, these here folks mean you no ill. What the lady here says is true, though you've got ta git some space on it all first, I figure. This all might be a bit much now but when ya do have a handle on it, y'all will have ta decide what ta do with the chance given ta ya. 'Til then though, ya got a place here if ya want it."
The woman seems to calm a bit. And leaving her with the burly man he takes you a side to talk.
"It might take her a spell ta adjust and see the use in what's she's been given here. Y'all found her so ya got the right of first denial. Did ya want her back?"

Zokon Santyev |

"What would be best for her I suppose, we have not freed her to make her into a slave and I'm not sure we could properly look after her on the road, not in this state, I think she needs to find herself. Anyway Posh wishes to retrieve our companion so I shall accompany him on the journey."
Zokon returns to Posh and begins the trek to taking him to retrieve Alia.

When you are all together, what's the next plan of action?

RPGGGM |

Numalar's next step is to try to unload all the gear we want to sell, and then maybe visit some people in town.
If you can give me some specifics.

Alia of the Blade |

I said I would round the Kah-Ching up to 800GP, and pay a 20GP tithe to the temple. Standing by that, after loot is distributed, I would definitely pay a visit to Shepherd Keegh personally later this day...checking in on Faeria and making good on the promise(paying from my personal share). In the interest of moving things along, not necessary to play this out, but I'd like it to be noted...so up-paying Keegh, and sitting a bit with Faeria, watching the Garden in silence, answering IF she has any questions, truthfully as far as I know the truth, but not otherwise pushing her, just trying to see if she's fine or seems distraught. (Take 10 on Sense Motive for 10...if she's trying to hide it I'm not probing.)

Scarlet Scarab |

"It might take her a spell ta adjust and see the use in what's she's been given here. Y'all found her so ya got the right of first denial. Did ya want her back?"
"If you could keep her here for a bit, I would be very thankful." Scarlet smiles. "I know how it feels to need time off to recollect yourself after stressful times. We'll come back and take it slow, alright? She just sees a bunch of strangers telling her about bandits and mites. It's a lot to absorb."

Celyne |

Celyne nods... Yes, staying here should be fine if it's amenable to the church. Such care would probably be best for her, as leaving her on her own will leave her confused and bereft of any care or guidance. I think she's too fragile for that yet. And we cannot care for her on the road. Thank you, good shepherd, for offering to care for her."

![]() |

If you can give me some specifics.
I would like to visit my former magic teacher, Arthiel Savaylas (see contacts on my char sheet). Partly just socially but also to pick his brain about the magic evocation effect we found at the stones on the way back to Oleg's.
Also I would like to drop in on Caraduck Thorpe, again partly socially, but if we need gear he can supply Numalar would prefer to buy things from a friend than a stranger.
Depending on how much cash we end up with, I'd be inclined to visit Zelara Osztolykan. I never wrote up the story for her but basically she is into tattoo magic, and I would be inclined to get a holy symbol tattoo. Might have to wait a bit for that though.
Also I suppose I would like to visit my old haunts in the area I used to live, but that can happen off-screen if you like.
But most importantly, we have to start looking into the "disappeared" ratters. We could buy gear first if that works.

Gotcha. I am taking requests for sites to visit and or shop. As a side note, Mung offered ease the way with the locals once his friend is found.

Zokon Santyev |

"So what next.. considering the trouble it caused we may be onto an opportunity in helping Mung with his friend. It actually seems like a situation that the folk of Restov would appreciate getting fixed. Which would potentially benefit us in the future as this is the closest centre of commerce and having a good rep is valuable."

Alia of the Blade |

Assuming this talk takes place after I was "retrieved"
"I agree, Zokon. After what...took place, I definitely want to find out what's at the bottom of this. Your reasons have their own merits, but I would like to know what was the reason behind these ruffians actions on a personal level. So I'm ready to head to the ratters any time-"

![]() |

Numalar nods. "The fact that someone wanted us to stay away tells me that Mung's fears are at least somewhat justified. So we could have a look down Spit Street at the ratter's guild, or Algie's place by Icy Wharf."

Scarlet Scarab |

"I get to help people out by bustin' more heads." Scarlet grins. "Can't wait."
"We should try to get some way to quickly heal from injury, though. One unlucky hit and..." She shakes her head. "While I'd love to search the armor shops for some new leathers, this takes priority."

Scarlet Scarab |

"Hey, Alia." Scarlet tries to get a moment with her. "You alright? I hope I didn't...scare ya last night. Sometimes I get a little too excited when a fight breaks out. And the red skin, and the smoke... It's just, you really wanted to help Faeria. And... uh..."
Scarlet scratches the back of her head, unsure of how much further she should go into this.

Poshment Underhill |

Posh smiles, happy to see Alia back with the group as they discuss what to do.
"As much as I would like to get involved...I do worry about what might be happening back at Oleg's. I don't think this Stag Lord will sit and wait for us to finish attempting to solve all the world's problems." he states with a shrug "However, I am not against getting involved. I would love to rid this town of bandits, but we do have a job to do too."

![]() |

"However, I am not against getting involved. I would love to rid this town of bandits, but we do have a job to do too."
"Oleg doesn't worry me so much anymore, now that we have gotten rid of the gang that was harassing them. I am not saying they are completely safe, but surely they are much safer than they were."
"And I am sure no-one would begrudge us an extra day in civilization, considering how much we can expect to be sleeping in tents for the next few months. Hopefully we can resolve the matter quickly. The fact is the authorities are not interested in what happens to those so lowly as Mung and his friends, so it is up to us if they can't deal with it on their own."
"But first, let's look into acquiring something that will enhance our healing abilities. After that we can look into what is going on with these rat-catchers."
Posh could use a bardic (arcane) wand of cure light wounds so I can look for that one. But I have no ranks in Knowledge:Religion... unless I could use Diplomacy for a gather information check? But either way I will also see if a partially charged wand is available.

I think a wand of cure light wounds is just that, arcane or divine doesn't matter - If the spell is on your spell list for your class, you can use the wand.

If we do good deed first then we may get a discount on a wand?

That is the case in PFS, though not under the normal rules. But I asked GGGM about another item a while back (a scroll I think) and he said that it is specific, so I am assuming we are doing that here as well. @ GGGM: is that so? Or can we just get a "generic" wand without worrying about arcane and divine?

Maybe... but what if we end up needing it?

Actually PFS is under normal rules. Wands are Spell Trigger items meaning if yo have the spell on your list it doesn't matter if it's Arcane or Divine. However, Scrolls are Spell Completeion items where you need to be of the same or similar class. For example, a Wizard cannot use a Scroll of Knock that is Divine automatically and a Cleric with Dimension Door cannot use a arcane scroll of Dimension Door. However, you can still use the item with a UMD roll. UMD

There's a place on High Market Street (uptown, adjoining some of the posher places in Restov) called Gwen's Reliquary that caters to the elite, though your knowledge of the place indicates that it is far more than a shop of bath salts, exotic pets and curios, but that the owner/proprietrix is actually a powerful sorcerer skilled in crafting all sorts of magical and mundane paraphernalia (wands, potions, wondrous items, and alchemical items). She also deals in such items and may have a wand that fits your needs.
On a side note, The Halfling Quarter (where Mr. Thorpe has his business) is on the dock side of town amid the Coppers.

![]() |

"If we want to get a healing wand we could look on High Market Street, which is a bit out of our way, but not too far. We could always make that trip after our 'errand,' if you prefer."
"Mr. Underhill, did you plan to purchase a missile weapon of some kind? If so, we could stop in the Halfling Quarter, which isn't far from where we are going. The man that provided me with most of my gear has a shop there."
GGGM: For the record I would want to give Mr. Thorpe first look at the gear we are selling off (see loot page) but since none of it is sized for small creatures I am not sure how interested he would be in most of it. I'm sure he sells things to non-halflings but I doubt it's his main business.

The Coppers are a big place (most of the riverfront), and they get a lot of human traders. It's also home to a significant portion of the town's poor and pretty much the entire population of "half breeds" (nearly all whom are half-orcs with a smattering of a few more exotic--but to human eyes, less attractive--types). So your friend should be able to trade with you, easily enough (at the standard rate--50% of what the item would cost were it new).

RPGGGM |

Moving through the winding dirt streets of the pungent Coppers, the party comes upon a side street where everything (for most of you) seems a bit off. While most of the buildings along both sides obvious reflect the stature of their human-sized builders, nearly all of them seem to have been repurposed to gnome-sized occupants. The street (little more than a alleyway really) is designed for smaller folk--halflings by the looks of the tiny shops lining the narrow urban canyon. Curiously low clothes lines obscure the deepest reaches of the tiny neighborhood from its tallest visitors, and many shops seem to have a balcony mezzanine storefront in addition to the usual ground entrance designed so that the proprietor may look his client in the eye.
And while today is neither a state nor church holiday the street, like many of those adjoining it, is vacant and all its shop doors (ground or otherwise) are shut. A number of hand-drawn signs tell passersby that they are indeed open during the "Troubles" but one whiff of the air and one look at the heaps of garbage piled in the not-quite-out-of-sight edges of the lane are enough to tell you why there is no business today. No business that is except at one shop along the street at the pinnacle of a T intersection. While a sign on the house reads: "Candles and Sundries" by the size and agitation of the crowd (seemingly a whole neighborhood of halflings, some human children there on errands for their parents, and the odd flashy-haired gnome) you would guess that they were selling gold for half price.
Among the numerous signs along the street you come upon one that strikes you as vaguely familiar--"Mobi's Flophouse." A two-err maybe four-story rundown tenement abutting what might have once been a white stone, corner church dedicated to the Aroden, which now seems to house a number of shabby, hungover fishermen.

"Rather quiet for today." Scarlet looks around the Coppers. She takes a deep breath, and coughs. "That'll clear up the nostrils. Numalar, is this the shop?"
GGGM: I assume yes?
"Yes, here we are, though I have never seen this kind of crowd here. Perhaps he has scented candles available?" Numalar winks."Excuse me, good fellow," Numalar says to one of the people at the edge of the crowd. "Can you tell me what is going on? Why are all these people here?"
Numalar engages a few people in conversation about local events.
Diplomacy (gather information): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Hoping to find out first if Mr. Thorpe is all right but also what the hubbub is about. If I get something about Mt. Thorpe that's great but I might get more info about the local "issue" and that's fine too. I'll try to just let people talk.
GGGM: Looking at the dice rolls you have above, you have Numalar's perception at +5. It's actually +2 - his initiative is +5.

RPGGGM |

The stout (manly-looking) halfling woman turns and looks a Numalar quizzically. She has a wooden cloths pin pinching her nose closed.
"He'th thelling clothh pinth, I'm going in for more."
A rangy halfling teen on the shop's mezzanine shouts to the crowd. "We're down to the latht buthhel!"
Suddenly, and to the boy's obvious horror, the crowd surges forward against the storefront, seemingly heedless of those at the front.
@ Numalar. Perception corrected. It doesn't affect the result of the current roll.

Scarlet Scarab |

Watching the chaos break out just starts something inside of Scarlet. They'll run right off the cliff at this rate. This is why I hate crowds.
"Wait a damn minute!" Scarlet yells at the top of her lungs. "No one's tramplin' no one around here!"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Bravo. Bravo.
"I'm gonna find out what's making this smell and take care of it, but you have to calm down! Everyone just share the clothespins you got!"
Scarlet continues to stare as the crowd ignores her cries.

Alia of the Blade |

When she sees the crowds lack of reaction to Scarlet, Alia shouts back at the halfling: "But they have a new delivery of clothespins over at 'Ye olde Shoppe'(whatever name I remember of another general store we went past), why do you have only so few? I'll get mine there instead!", hoping to draw at least part of the crowd off from there and hopefully not get the people in front crushed, looking to Posh for help...

After an initial glance demonstrating a lack of cloths pins most of the crowd ignores Scarlet aside from a group of cross-looking halfling matrons who stare disapproving daggers at her.
I'll give Posh (and anyone else) a few hours to bluff, otherwise it's on Alia.
Zokon manages to make his way over/through the crowd and reach the mezzanine--much to the general outrage of the crowd.
improvised produce: 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 1 - 4 = 14
A thrown tomato narrowly misses the slayer.
"Uh, can I help you?" Asks the young halfling ducking beneath the rail as a head of lettuce impacts the railing.

Zokon Santyev |

"Trying t stop the surging crowd injuring people at the front by distracting them this way, terribly sorry if it's inconvenient"
Zokon ducks as he explains...

![]() |

Numalar can't help but chuckle. "Heh heh... trust ol' Caraduck to corner the market on clothespins when the drains are backed up."
Numalar looks at the others.
"I have no problem with my friend trying to earn a profit on this... after all, I doubt the point of the conspiracy was to make a fortune in the clothespin market. So let's see if we can get this crowd to move in a bit more of an orderly fashion."
Numalar finds a crate or bucket which he can stand on and see over the mass of halflings. He shouts: "SETTLE DOWN EVERYONE! Pushing and shoving just makes everything take longer! You'll get your clothespins soon enough!"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Numalar looks over at Zokon and the others.
"Erm... a little help?"
@ Scarlet (and Zokon & Celyne): Remember that you get a +4 to intimidate when intimidating someone smaller than you.
After that is resolved (whether or not it works), Numalar steps down and looks at the rest of the group.
"If we can offer to help Mister Thorpe sell off his stock, we can help get this crowd cleared out more quickly."

Poshment Underhill |

Posh, seeing this situation getting pretty bad decides to attempt to calm things down.
"Please people, let us all keep calm and make our way in a orderly manner." Posh attempts to sooth the crowd.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
One posh says this he attempts to climb up onto a nearby table to get their full attention.
"This reminds me of the last time I had seen such a big crowd. A temple to Desna had a sign stating it would give out "Hand Outs" and "Free Odd Jobs", but the sign was somewhat rotten and word "hand" fell down, knocking out "odd" and staying in it's place." he smirks as he makes this minor joke "This also caused an argument with the temple of Calistra and they began to make the same offer. I'm surprised the acolytes could still use their hands for spell casting at the end of the week!"
Perform Comedy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Posh continues with a few more dirty Limericks to keep the people entertained.

Caraduck Thorpe, chandler |

Ignoring all attempts at duplicity and intimidation the crowd pays enough attention to the gnome comic for the The sour-faced halfling matrons previously staring daggers into Scarlet to turn their collective gorgon's gaze on Posh after first shielding the ears of any halfling youngster under the age of 30 even if they are not related by blood.
There's a brief scuffle at the head of the line, and more aged produce projectiles. After that a undulating wave ripples back through the crowd and then suddenly is scatters. Many halflings shouting and chattering among themselves in their strange, ancient tongue that uses too many of the letters that most other languages would just as soon leave out (including a great number of Ws and Ys). Yes, Welsh!
An older halfling with a hat much like Numalar's, its brim and top festooned in partially melted candles picks himself off the patio floor and dusts himself off smiling: "Well! That's that I suppose."
Smiling, he calls up to Zokon. "Sorry, but we seem to be all out of cloths pins, potpourri and scented candles. Could I interest you in something else? Fresh cauliflower perhaps?"
He dusts the vegetable off and holds it out for inspection.

Anyone here from Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch?
"Mister Thorpe!" Numalar calls out cheerfully. "Good to see you again, my friend. Allow me to present my companions." Numalar introduces the bunch who are now able to approach the shop.
"My chartered mission is going well; we are just here to take care of some business and resupply. Which, I might add, I'm sure you can help with. But for now, have you any idea what is making the town smell so awful nowadays?"
I don't see the need to roleplay out the sale of the items we are carrying so if it's OK I'll just drop that stuff off with Mr. Thorpe and take the 50% unless anyone wants to do it differently.
