Terrance Foehammer |
Terrance follows after a couple of seconds.
Terrance Foehammer |
Terrance grumbles Obávam sa, že krátky seba potrebujú svetlo as he follows behind Ioann.
DM Twilight |
The stone steps lead down into the cold earth. The large crypt is lined with empty niches. Father Grimburrow notes the lack of bodies and says quietly, "How very curious. The Church's records say that this crypt was one of the first to be filled in Ravengro."
There are two doors about ten feet apart from one another (marked in blue).
Ingrid Van der Geist |
At Fathre Grimburrow's words Ingrid frowns, a luminous azure glow emanating from her sapphire eyes as she shifts her vision to discern the presence of the undead.
Detect Undead
Ake of the Stolen Soul |
Ake readies herself, words of power at her beck.
She also moves to a more strategic position, her favorite spells could fry friend and foe alike, without some caution.
Ioann could take it, she was less certain of the others.
Ake to M9, 5' step to the right of Ioann, to give me a clear view without people in the way.
Gellius Dandrae |
When Father Grimburrow remarks on the emptiness of the crypt, Gellius instinctly draws his greatsword and moves to next to the Father with the intent to guard him. "Emptiness is one of the scariest things. A blank canvas of potential ambushes."
Terrance Foehammer |
Terrance takes a close look at the doors.
Aye, emptyness, of a crypt that has had people in it, is wrong.

I guess I am not the tracker of the group. :)
Orin Gabor |
As he hears Father Grimburrow's statement, Orin pulls an arrow from his quiver, nocking it into place. "A crypt that was supposed to be filled but is not. I don't like this everyone..."
Orin will fall back a bit to O-7.
DM Twilight |
Ingrid, your detect undead reveals nothing to you.
There is nothing to be heard save the sounds of your own breathing and movements. Nothing to be seen aside from the footprints and scrapes in the dust where the door on the right was opened before. Beyond the fact that there are no bodies, the crypt looks rather like any other crypt.
Terrance Foehammer |
Terrance then attempts to open the door to the west. left on the map. :)

Ioann, if you would help here

Ioann sights and rolls his eyes as he sees everyone get into defensive positions and state their worries.
"Really?... Professor Lorrimor was not a man of battle... he came here and came back, why are you all so worried? Clearly, the tomb is empty because its a weapon's cache and the manifest was modified so that no one who think of burrying people here."
To Terrance:
"Sure..."
str check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
DM Twilight |
The door opens with relative ease, scraping across the stone floor. Behind the door is a room that stretches the width of the building, it would seem that the other door opens into the same area. Between the doors, on the opposite wall is the top of another staircase leading down.
Terrance Foehammer |
Ioann, there were footprints leading in, but not out of this tomb.
To me that means that there might be others in here, and that is what I am worried about.
With that Terrance walks into the next room and then looks around the corner down the stairs.

Terrance Foehammer |
All I saw were the footprints. I couldn't track them in or out. :) I was just going off of what was previously said.
DM Twilight |
Ravel Sigrún |
Footprints disturb the dust, you're able to see them trailing down the stairs clearly enough to see where the person who left them went.
It's the wording. Trailing down the stairs.
Ravel will step to the other door and attempt to open it as well.

Ake of the Stolen Soul |
Wrong meat shield in front :)
Ake moves silently to to the intersection, the longshanks were too loud.
Double move to H8. 30' due to Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28. In addition to burning stuff, goblins are sneaky as well...
really, another 20...why can't I get those with my Anti-Palidin you evil program....
Terrance Foehammer |
I see the casters are trailblazing. :) Ack a goblin sneaking up[ on me.

If Ake doesn't see anything after looking around she calls out behind her to the others.
The little goblin and Cuddles see nothing more scary than us, come on in you worrisome Longshanks!
Then begins to thoroughly investigate the room, Perception take 20.
If Ake sees anything of interest that won't eat her, she motions Terrance and CO. up and points it out to them.
Do you see that over there?
FIRE!!!! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!!!! Then run!!

Ake calls out to the others, "The little goblin and Cuddles see nothing more scary than us, come on in you worrisome Longshanks!"
Terrance Foehammer |
Terrance wanders in and looks around, then casts detect magic.
Once the spell is cast, he looks long and hard at all everything in the room.
perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 +2 at odd stonework

Yay dice
Terrance Foehammer |
Something inside the sarcophogus radiates magic. But I am for one, not going to disturb the rest of anyone. Terrance then looks around at the others.
that's why I said YAY DICE. Honestly, if I had the luck with my own dice as I do with the RNG some days, the dice would have been melted down some time ago.
Ingrid Van der Geist |
"I'll open it." Ingrid says walking into the room.
Ioann Vilescu |
Trailing behind Ingrid, Ioann joins the others.
"Yes, and who would ever think there is really a body in there..."
He does not even bother to glance at Terrance while stating this. Instead, he walks rights next to the sarcophagus with the paladin and, without any care for the possible sanctity of the tomb, pushes hard on the lid of the sarcophagus.
Str check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Ioann does.
DM Twilight |
The lid to the sarcophagus slides open with a little effort. Father Grimburrow shuffles forward to look inside, "How interesting...".
The sarcophagus is void of corpse, but many items are spread out with meticulous care on a piece of cloth. It appears as if several more might be missing. There are several different kinds of arrows grouped separately, flasks inscribed with the holy symbol of Pharasma, sun rods, different potion vials, scrolls, and a thin darkwood case decorated with an image of a scarab with a single eye glaring from its back.
I'll provide you with a full, detailed list later.
Just then, Narcissa flits away from Ravel and begins flying around the room screeching and Cuddles begins making clicking noises.
Terrance Foehammer |
Terrance pulls his Warhammer from his belt, and looks around at the warning that Ravel gives.
Any idea from where ?
DM Twilight |
A few moments later and two giant centipedes crawl out of one of the cracks in the wall.

5' step next to fellow pyro Gellius, hold action for other centipede to close then cast Burning Hands to envelop both in its cone. If someone else moves into my area, I will cast before they get in my way.
Ake moves with the words of fire on her lips.

Seeing the area start to fill up facing the centipede's, Terrance steps back, and pulls his sling out.
5' adjust 1 square south, move equivilant action draw sling, standard action, holster warhammer.
DM Twilight |
OK, no, guys, please wait until those who go before you have acted before posting your actions. Even if I wait until your turns to make those actions take place, it complicates things because when you move you could be moving where someone else was planning to move and then they might either change their minds (metagaming) or you would need to adjust your action anyway.

in that case, ignore what i posted, and will rework action, when it comes my turn.
Ravel Sigrún |
Ravel raises two fingers in a V shape, whispering as she draws them down, miming the closing of eyes. "Odpočívať." With the gesture and whisper, she wills the centipede near Gellius to slumber.

Gellius jumps a little. "Centipedes? And I was expecting to be attacked by some undead creature or ancient tomb guardian or something... Boo."
Despite seeming slightly disappointed by this turn of events, he goes ahead and tries to smack the closer one with his drawn greatsword.
Greatsword attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (6, 3) + 7 = 16
If this kills the centipede, then Gellius will move to trap the centipede against the wall.
Did half of the coordinates disappear in these last couple maps?
