"It would be a pleasure to Father," Ingrid says, offering the priest an arm, her luminous eyes flickering slightly with amusement as she calls upon her inner discipline to restrain the grin threatening to dominate her features.

Gonna give Ioann a bit to respond before moving away. I'll post again later this evening either way.

"Yes, perhaps I could use that cup of tea. Nothing like a hot beverage to make the researching go smoothly, eh?" Gellius shudders as he says that last bit.

Temple:

Ioann bow his head, whether as an apology or simply so as to fall back into his normal posture is hard to tell. He keeps silent while listening to the priest and answers as soon as the father is done talking.

"No need to patronize me with long stories, father. I understand your teaching, no need to water it down." he says serioulsy.

He then chuckles and adds:

"... just wanna make sure this 'angelic woman' does not get mauled by a bear while looking for snakes. And yes, let us search for the names of these people." finishes Ioann, ready to follow them inside.

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Temple:
Grimburrow smiles and chuckles. "Well, I'm sure if you growl loud and long enough, you'll scare those bears right away." He then takes Akasha's arm and leads you back to the archives.

Kendra goes to fetch tea and coffee. Are you planning to have your drinks in the library or before going into the library?

I was hoping that no one was going to take liquids into the library, but was prepared to make you roll for spills if you did :D

Kendra and Ravel return with tea, coffee, and finger sandwiches after a short while.

Ravel sips tea as she allows Narcissa to nibble on a sandwich with her.

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Maybe they are sandwiches made out of fingers, and maybe it was Ake's idea. Pervert :D

My thanks ladies Terrance says as he takes a coffee and a sandwitch.

Once in the library, Ravel will begin to study what the Professor knew about Harrowstone and its convicts. "Research all that we can, I'm going to start with Harrowstone itself."

Knowledge (history- Harrowstone): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Knowledge History: Harrowstone's Five famous bastards: 1d20 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 4 = 24

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Research Topic: The Five Prisoners

Knowledge (history) and Knowledge (local) checks can be used to research the Five Prisoners.

DC 15:
Originally, Harrowstone housed only local criminals, but as the prison’s fame spread, other counties and distant lands began paying to have more dangerous criminals housed within this prison’s walls. At the time of the great Harrowstone Fire, the number of particularly violent or dangerous criminals imprisoned within the dungeons below was at an all-time high.

DC 20:
The five most notorious prisoners in Harrowstone at the time of the great fire were Father Charlatan, the Lopper, the Mosswater Marauder, the Piper of Illlmarsh, and the Splatter Man.

DC 25:
There are actually five separate DC 25 checks to be made—each of the five prisoners represents a different Knowledge check. The information gained depends on the prisoner being researched.

If you have made a DC25 check and are seeing this, you may select one of the five prisoners listed under the DC20 spoiler to learn about. Simply name that prisoner in a spoiler labeled DM Twilight, and I will respond with the appropriate information. You may make four more DC25 checks to attempt to learn about the other prisoners, each successful check allows you to choose another prisoner from that list.

Temple:

Ioann goes throught books and scrolls in order to find anything that could be related to the subject and hands them to Ingrid for her to peruse more deeply.

It's like looking up the history of Arkham. Can we let whoever scored higher take the lead and the other aid another? Difference would be whether or not 1st roll is a success or not.

Female Changeling (Green Widow) Witch (Dreamweaver)/2 HP: 9/9

Frustrated, Ravel seems unable to find anything of importance in the tomes she peruses in the Lorrimor library. "Darlings is anyone having better luck than I am with other subjects?"

I have found little bits and pieces here and there. I showed them to Ingrid, but I cannot make heads nor tails of them.
I need another coffee, pardon me. with that, Terrance steps out of the library to get another cup of coffee.

Oops, I thought she had stayed at the house. in that case, the assist was for Ravel.

Female Changeling (Green Widow) Witch (Dreamweaver)/2 HP: 9/9

Still only brings her check to a 13, so unless Twi rules that Ravel was assisting Terrance, we at the house have not cleared the first DC in our research.

Which is not very good...

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Since you are working in groups, and it is the intent of everyone to work collaboratively, I will consider rolls in favor of obtaining the knowledge you are seeking.

Temple:
Between all of your rolls, using them to aid one another as needed, you have hit all of the goals so here is the full list. It would have taken you several hours to find everything, we'll say it was after midnight before you finished. We'll have you wait until the others have all made their rolls before returning home.

Father Charlatan (Sefick Corvin): Of the five notorious prisoners, only Father Charlatan as not technically a murderer, yet his crimes were so blasphemous that several churches demanded he be punished to the full extent of Ustalavic law. Although he claimed to be an ordained priest of any number of faiths, Father Corvin was in fact a traveling con artist who used faith as a mask and a means to bilk the faithful out of money in payment for false miracles or cures. He became known as Father Charlatan after his scheme was exposed and his Sczarni accomplices murdered a half-dozen city guards in an attempt to make good the group’s escape.

The Lopper (Vance Saetressle): When the Lopper stalked prey, he would hide in the most unlikely of places, sometimes for days upon end with only a few supplies to keep him going while he waited for the exact right moment to strike. Once his target was alone, the Lopper would emerge to savagely behead his victim with a handaxe.

The Mosswater Marauder (Ispin Onyxcudgel): Only 5 years before his hometown of Mosswater was destined to be overrun and ruined by monsters from the nearby river, Ispin Onyxcudgel was a well-liked artisan and a doting husband. When he discovered his wife’s infidelity, he flew into a jealous rage and struck her dead with his hammer, shattering her skull and his sanity with one murderous blow. Wracked with shame and guilt, Ispin became convinced that if he could rebuild his wife’s skull she would come back to life—but unfortunately, he could not find the last blade-shaped fragment from the murder site. So instead, Ispin became the Mosswater Marauder. Over the course of several weeks, the cunning dwarf stalked and murdered nearly 20 people while searching for just the right skull fragment. He was captured just before murdering the daughter of a visiting nobleman from Varno, and was carted off to Harrowstone that same night.

The Piper of Illmarsh (real name unknown): Before he snatched his victims, the Piper taunted his targets with a mournful dirge on his flute. He preferred to paralyze lone victims by dosing their meals with lich dust and then allowed his pet stirges to drink the victims dry of blood.

The Splatter Man (Hean Feramin): Professor Feramin was a celebrated scholar of Anthroponomastics (the study of personal names and their origins) at the Quartrefaux Archives in Caliphas. Yet an accidental association with a succubus twisted and warped his study, turning it into an obsession. Feramin became obsessed with the power of a name and how he could use it to terrify and control. Soon enough, his reputation was ruined, he’d lost his tenure, and he’d developed an uncontrollable obsession with an imaginary link between a person’s name and what happens to that name when the person dies. Every few days, he would secretly arrange for his victim to find a letter from her name written in blood, perhaps smeared on a wall or spelled out with carefully arranged entrails. Once he had spelled his victim’s name, he would at last come for her, killing her in a gory mess using a complex trap or series of rigged events meant to look like an accident.

Lorrimor Estate:
Using Ravel's to aid Terrance's still only allows you to look at the DC15 mark. Orin didn't roll high enough for an aid. Still waiting on Gellius and Ake.

Female Changeling (Green Widow) Witch (Dreamweaver)/2 HP: 9/9

Ravengro Cribs:
After consulting a few books with Terrance, "As Harrowstone's popularity grew, other towns started sending their most volatile prisoners to be incarcerated within its walls... Well it's a start."

Still a little sore, and feeling slightly staby/burny, Ake focuses her mind on researching the Five Prisoners on her own.

Mostly to regain control of her temper and not lash out at her new friends.

She sips on coffee, rather daintily, the entire time, staying quiet and silent.

Cuddles bounces between the people in the library, sometimes on Ravel's head, other times scuttling around the others feet or sitting in their lap.

Untrained Knowledge: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

temple:

Reading over Ingrid's shoulder, Ioann's face contorts into a grimace of horror.

"These people were sick...." he mutters to himself before turning to father Grimburrow.

"Anyone here in town whose name starts with a V?"

Father Grimburrow smiles, "Well sure, my first name is Vauran. Then there is deputy Vrodish. The woman who runs the bed and breakfast, Sarianna Vai. Councilman Vashian Hearthmount." He's quiet in thought for a moment before saying, "Well, I guess that'a all that comes to mind. What are you thinking, lad?"

Temple:
"Based on their patterns, it would seem that we have activity by someone under the influence of the Splatter Man. Was the V in the town square the first time a letter appeared in blood somewhere?"

Temple:

Ioann nods to Ingrid.
"Also, Orin's name was fully written in blood. This copycat does not emulate well..."

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Temple:
"Orin's name?" Father Grimburrow asks.

It looks like the highest that those at the Lorrimor Estate are able to reach is the DC20. Those at the temple may return whenever they are ready.

Temple:
"Yes his entire name was written by ghostly hand on the ceiling of his room back at Kendra's" Ingrid responds, a sense of urgency rising in her voice.

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Temple:
"Do you think your friend is in trouble?"

Temple:

Ioann scratches his head for a moment before he replies.

"No, not at the moment. But we don't have anything left to do here. We should go... thanks for the help father."

Temple:
"We should definitely be going Father, I'll do my best to keep you appraised of what we find." Ingrid says preparing to head back.

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Temple:
Father Grimburrow nods his head and walks you to the door. "It's been my pleasure, so rarely do we get anyone in here anymore who is interested in research. I do hope that Orin is safe, and thank you, Ingrid. Do let me know what you find and if there is anything I can do to help."

It is late and dark out as you head back to the Lorrimor estate. Everyone in town seems to be in sleeping except for the soft sounds of music and laughter floating across the river, likely coming from the tavern. You are able to return home without event.

Stepping over towards Ake, Orin tries not to startle the small goblin. "Find anything, Ake?"

On his way back to the Lorrimor estate, Ioann is silent. Once Ingrid and him get to the doorstep, he opens the door and gets in, leaving the task of closing the door to the paladin. After shaking some water droplets off his clothes, he walks into the library and slumps unto a chair. He then addresses Orin, clearly interrupting Ake.

"Orin, you should avoid going into your room... it might be trapped."

Gellius cocks an eyebrow at Ioann. "You mean to tell me that someone snuck into here and trapped Orin's room? That would be ridiculous!" Gellius starts laughing.

After a couple seconds he stops. "That would be ridiculous, right?"

Ioann stays still, in his usual "I don't care" sort of stance, but still responds to the others.

"Good question Terrance... Maybe by some mad person trying to emulate murders that happened years ago... How? don't know... it is as ridiculous has huge blood letters being written in a closed room... all I know is that someone will be setting traps for you soon."

Note, wouldn't really Ioann style to fully disclosed what Ingrid and him found in the library, should we assume Ingrid unveils all of it?

Male (Channel 2/2 (Will DC 9) (D6)),(Acid Dart 7/7 (d6+1)),(Protection ability 7/7) Dwarf Cleric 1 (HP 9/9),(AC16/15, T 10/10, FF 16/15 +4 vs Giant Subtype (With/Without Shield)),(Saves F4, R1, W7 +4 vs Spell,SLA, +2 vs Poison),(CMB 2, CMD 12),Init 0, Perception 5 +2 vs Stonework

We will have to deal with anything attempting to trap us later.
All we have been able to determine here, is the names of 5 prisoners. You ?
