Ah ok, I read tat as if we suceeded DC 25 we'd get more info, not get a 25 and get to research something else.

"If we are set on exploring Harrowstone, we need to find out all we can about the place. That is where the Professor found his demise and we would do well to go in prepared. But I agree with Ioann that we need to first retrieve these weapons." Ravel frowns slightly. "Orin, do you have any cause for being haunted?"
Orin Gabor |
Sorry, Ioann, I actually completely missed that question (probably was reading on my phone, which is not the best to do gaming on
He turns to Ioann and shakes his head. "I don't. Not readily anyway." He looks over and looks at Ravel. "Sorry, I have no clue. Only thing I can think of is that it has something to possibly due with our investigations. Beyond that, nothing. Perhaps it would be best to hurry and retrieve the equipment. And... And..." He slumps back some. "I'm rather hungry...."

Kendra looks at Ravel, her face blank until what Ravel has said makes it's way through the fog of her mind. She slowly nods and hands Ravel the bucket. Smoothing her hair down, though none of it is out of place, Kendra clears her throat and says, "Yes, very well. Thank you. I should, um, I should get Orin some juice or something. He's had quite a shock."
Leaving the mess to Ravel, Kendra heads back down the stairs and into the kitchen where she prepares breakfast for Orin. By the time she carries the tray out to Orin, some color has returned to her face and she appears much more in control of herself.
Ingrid Van der Geist |
Ingrid lends her quiet support to Kendra, her presence comforting and uplifting.
I figure between Aura of good and Charisma 18 that would be the effect of being next to her
Ravel Sigrún |
Ravel giggles as she finishes up and heads back out into the main room. "Well, that business is taken care of. Unless there's anything else to do, shall we be off?" Ravel sets the cleaning supplies near the table. "As always, thank you for your food and hospitality, Kendra." Lifting her hand, Ravel allows Narcissa to alight.

She was having a hard time understanding why Kendra was so...upset.
Not like my tribe, no no no no no...not used to the blood, not used to badness, violence...did I bring this, is this my fault? Must be, I'm the only bad one here...no other monsters but me...Make it right, what would Petro's tell me?
Gnaws on her knuckle, thinking, planning, trying to put the pieces together.

With a nod, Ingrid leads the group to the temple, to meet Father Grimborrow before heading into the Restlands.

Orin, successfully roused with the food, looks at Kendra with a thin smile. "Again, I thank you Lady Lorrimor. This should give me plenty strength to help the others today."
He rises and notes that Ravel has cleaned his room, finding some uncleaned garments. Blushing profusely, he readies his gear and meets the others. "Let's head on, yes?" He looks up at the sky and frowns some. "Even the sky doesn't want to work with us..."
DM Twilight |
Father Grimburrow welcomes you to come into the temple while he fetches his cloak. Then he follows along staying near Ingrid as you head to the restlands. "Normally, the church wouldn't allow strangers to go off searching for such things in the Restlands. I trust though, that having a group led by one of Pharasma's Paladins, means that the upmost respect will be given to the dead. Still, it's best that I come along with you to help oversee and to any of the townsfolk should anyone else be there."
As you arrive at The Restlands, Father Grimburrow stops for a second to catch his breath and pulls out a map of The Restlands, "Now where abouts did you say this false crypt was suppose to be?"Refer back to Lorrimor's Journal Entries

Ten Years Ago:
The Whispering Way is more than just a cabal of necromancers. I see that now. Undeath is their fountain of youth. Uncovering their motivation does not place me at ease as I thought it might. Their desire to be eternal simply makes them more dangerous. Two Months Ago:
It is as I had feared. The Way is interested in something here in Ravengro. But what could it be?One Month Ago:
Whatever the Way seeks, I am now convinced their goal is connected to Harrowstone. In retrospect, I suppose it all makes sense—the stories they tell about the ruins in town are certainly chilling enough. It may be time to investigate the ruins, but with everyone in town already being so worked up about them, I’d rather not let the others know about my curiosity—there’s plenty of folks hereabouts who already think I’m a demonologist or a witch or something. Ignorant fools.Twenty Days Ago:
It is confirmed. The Way seems quite interested in something—no, strike that—someone who was held in Harrowstone. But who, specifically, is the Way after? I need a list of everyone who died the night of the fire. Everyone. The Temple of Pharasma must have such a list.Eighteen Days Ago:
I see now just how ill prepared I was when I last set out for the Harrowstone. I am lucky to have returned at all. The ghosts, if indeed they were ghosts (for I did not find it prudent to investigate further) prevented me from transcribing the strange symbols I found etched along the foundation—hopefully on my next visit I will be more prepared. Thankfully, the necessary tools to defend against spirits are already here in Ravengro. I know that the church of Pharasma used to store them in a false...

Although Ravel's voice isn't enough to pull Ioann out of his reverie, Orin's chipping in does it. Ioann lifts his head from staring to the ground. For a moment his eyes search the sky before he answers.
"Something about Always Sleepy and the Gray Path... or was it Eversleep and the Black Path... must have been the first one."

Lol, that was a bad roll. Other funny thing, anyone notice that the spoiler was cut right before the part that interested us?

Oops. The quote cut off! Sorry guys.
... I know that the church of Pharasma used to store them in a false crypt in the Restlands at the intersection between Eversleep and the Black Path. I am not certain if the current clergy even know of what their predecessors have hidden down below. If my luck holds, I should be able to slip in and out with a few borrowed items.

Ok,something is wrong with my browsers. Norton found and corrected one virus, but apparently there is something else going on. Having to post from my phone for now. Can't update the map. Bear with me.
Father Grimburrow nods his head, "Yes, yes it should be up here in this area then." He says pointing at the intersection in the upper right hand corner of the map.
Ingrid Van der Geist |
Nodding quietly, Ingrid leads the way towards the intersection.

Ake you notice that the grass around one particular crypt appears to have been worn down, as if it was walked across a lot.
Terrance, you likewise notice this, but you also notice that it looks like the door of the crypt has been opened somewhat recently as there are scrape marks in the dust that has gathered on the stone in front of the door.

People, proceed with caution, the crypt has been opened recently.
With that, Terrance pulls his warhammer.

Ravel unlatches her companion's cage, speaking in soothing words, emphatically urging Narcissa to stay alert. "Narcissa, să ne spui dacă auzi cineva."
Ravel lets her eyes adjust as she too peers into the darkness. She draws the sickle from her belt, holding it before her.
As an after thought, "Those who cannot see in the dark, please stay behind those that can, especially if you feel the need to light a torch. If there is anything down here, I'd hate to be taken by surprise because we are blind. If no one brought a torch, I can illuminate the darkness."
