LOL! I'm sorry guys.... I just told you I'd wait for everyone to level up and upgrade gear before proceeding, and now I'm asking for Perception checks! Ignore my mania and do what thou must! Lol.... I suppose I'm eager for Act 2 to get underway, as it should be a great time!

Alpine frost giant |

Paddy is first to see a frost giant, watching the party's progress through the treacherous alpine passes from a ledge some 80 feet above them.... The rogue spies the stealthy giant through a bird-like eye on his tunic of eyes, not giving away the fact that Paddy noticed him to the frost giant stalker....

Alpine frost giantess |

A few hundred feet away from The Lusty Fools, concealed from their view on an overlooking mountain ledge across a ravine, Flinga the frost giantess observes her brother Einar observing the band of mountaineering adventurers as they traverse an icy ridge far below....
Turning to her monstrous companion, an abomination like a bipedal chimera in nature and form, she grins....
In Giant: Ha! Now we shall get to see you in action, my weird, three-headed friend! Get ready to do what the Beast, the Devil, and the Anti-Christ bred you to do! There's fresh meat for the stew pots down yonder, and we aim to be the ones to taste it!

Michael Johnson 66 |

The Lusty Fools have entered the Duchy of Savoy, in the Piedmont region of the Italian Alps....
Knowledge (nobility) checks, please....

Michael Johnson 66 |

As The Lusty Fools are moving single file along a narrow, icy mountain ledge (difficult terrain), some 90 ft long and 5 feet wide, running from west to east, with a sheer mountain wall to the north and a sheer drop (some 200 ft into a misty ravine) to the south, they are suddenly ambushed by a band of alpine frost giants and their chimerian allies!

Alpine frost giant |

There are two frost giants standing on a ledge some 80 ft above the heroes on the mountainside north of them, and another two stand on another ledge, 140 ft above the heroes and 60 ft south of them across the deep ravine.... All four giants begin to pick up icy boulders to hurl down at their prey....
Initiative 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8

Paddy |

Paddy sneaks up on the closest opponent and strikes with his blade.
shank you very much: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 211d6 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 151d6 ⇒ 23d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 2) = 8 using pirahna strike and debilitating injury is -2 to hit

Alphonse Veritus |

How hard do the walls look to scale? Since that's really the only way we're getting up there.
Ah who am I kidding? I'm in Full Plate. I'm screwed either way.

[dice=shank you very much]1d20+9; 1d6+9; 1d6; 3d6 using pirahna strike and debilitating injury is -2 to hit
The Giants are on ledges above the ledge the PCs are on, two on a ledge 80 ft directly above the PCs, and two on another ledge on the far side of the ravine to the south, 140 ft up and 60 ft across a 200-ft-deep ravine from the PCs; the two chimerians are flying 120 feet above the PCs.... Therefore, Paddy must scale 80 feet of sheer mountainside to reach the nearest foes--the two frost Giants on the ledge 80 ft above the PCs....

The mountain wall leading up to the nearer pair of Giants is treacherously sheer.... Climb DC 20 without a rope or other climbing gear....

Michael Johnson 66 |

in that case Paddy will go invisible and climb up...i reckon i cant take 10 right
I would have to say that Paddy is considered to be rushed or harried, since enemies will soon be hurling boulders down or swooping down to breath fire on The Lusty Fools.... So no taking 10.

Michael Johnson 66 |

The rumble of boulders falling from higher ledges echoes throughout the Alps, accompanied by the roar of frost giants and the monstrous cacophony of roaring, hissing, and bleating that erupts from the chimeras' triune throats!
This monstrous sonic assault causes an avalanche to cascade down the mountainside upon the Lusty Fools! Everyone except Alphonse and Paddy are caught in the bury zone (in the direct path of the falling debris), sustaining 8d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 2, 2, 2, 1, 2, 6) = 21 points of damage, or half that amount if they succeed on a DC 15 Reflex saving throw, and are subsequently buried in ice and snow.
Paddy and Alphonse are in the slide zone, and take 3d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 5) = 13 damage, or no damage if they succeed on a DC 15 Reflex saving throw.

RIP
God apparently has more work for Alphonse to do.... Miraculously, no boulders or ice chunks larger than a chicken strike the young paladin as he slides and shuffles along through the slide zone of the avalanche, and he finds himself no worse for wear at the end of the harrying ride!

Hisao of the Yellow Reeds |

Init: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17
Hisao goes invisible, ethereal, and with a climb speed of 20 feet moves as fast as he can up the wall more like an ascending mist than anything human.
Think that's just a double move and no run possible so 40 feet? And I don't think an avalanche affects ethereal people!

Invisible and ethereal, Hisao ascends halfway up to the overhead cliff (80 ft above, so the ninja is halfway there at 40 ft up) as a cascade of snow and boulders tumbles past and through his ghost-like form!

Rd 2
Do the Chimerians have any kind of Breath Weapon or other ranged attack; what do I know about their Breath Weapon AoE, if they have one?
Knowledge Arcane: 1d20 + 23 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 23 + (3) = 28
Iommi-Tyr Magnusson Readies an Action to throw a Bomb at a Chimerian when they fly within 30' of me IF they have a Breath Weapon.
If they do not I throw a Bomb at a Frost Giant that is adjacent to as many other Frost Giants as possible.
