HOLY MOLY
Though, just to be clear, can I still add up to +4 Enhancement to the weapon over time? The Vorpal alone technically precludes any further special abilities from being added without dropping the max Enhancement (by normal rules a Holy Vorpal sword could only be at max +3).

Quick question, in your gift it says it's a +1 returning dagger of venom.
A dagger of venom is already +1, so is it a +2, or just a typo?

I dont understand why you would need to do that when your class can do so. Also It doesnt really help save for to hit at that point I suppose. DR is pretty much handled by EVERYTHING else it has.

A dagger of Venom isnt returning.

True, but by the same token my class can already add Holy as well, and I like the consistency of not needing to rely on a minute per level ability for to-hit at high levels.
Either way I can work with it though.
Edit: Assuming Divine Bond can bypass the normal +10 limit. Can it?

Yes, you can exceed the +10 barrier with this weapon.

Schweet. I look forward to hitting 20th level and start rolling with a +5 Holy Vorpal + Divine Bonded Speed Flaming Keen weapon.
My only regret is that the list couldn't be even longer. =)
Also I just noticed Brilliant Energy is on the list of things Divine Bond can grant. That's pretty awesome.

Quick question about the lance, am I able to wield it even thought it's large? William is no Koran.
You attack at the usual -4 penalty with it. If someone casts enlarge person on you, the penalty goes away as the lance of thunderbolts suddenly seems just the right size.

Hoenheim Dobberkau *Nacht* |

Normally you cant attack wit a weapon that requires two hands already is what he is getting at. 4d6 damage is...Mike you might need to step back here. 4d6 is the damage of a lance wielded by a Gargantuan creature. If you meant Large thats 2d6 not 4d6.

Was modeling it on the hammer of thunderbolts from previous editions.... Lol.... Okay, I see your point.... The lance is not Large, it's Medium, and it doesn't deal 4d6 on a hit, it deals 2d6 on a hit! Lol!

So loot hungry. The gods should just bless us with a well-cooked meal and a song! Though at this point that would be a Heroes' Feast and an irresistible dance. :)

I'm loving the deep narration you have going with your various avatars, GM!

Rynjin |

It's one of the many interesting parts of MJ's games, seeing him hold long, detailed conversations with himself. =)
I'm a bit interested in whether he does this in his IRL games too. Perhaps Ray/Iommi can shed some light on that, and the presence or absence of funny voices.

Perhaps Ray... can shed some light on (Mike's DMing style IRL)
He's not much for voices, though a bit more than I am as DM -- but how 'bout this:
A couple of years ago he started a Spelljammer Sandbox where we PCs would begin by crashing our Spelljammer on an unknown world and then, on the island on which we crash-land, do what we want (true sandbox).
So in the opening moment of our first session our Spelljammer is hurtling through the upper atmosphere of this world as we desperately try to stabilize it and "land" on a little island we see, getting closer and closer as we freefall further and further.
Then we 5, 1st level PCs see eight Drow Spelljammers flying to surround us -- each with 5 Drow aboard.
I figured maybe there was some kind of weapon on our Spelljammer that we could use to fight of the Drow.
Nope.
So then I figured, "Okay, we're just beginning the campaign as slaves under the Drow; we'll eventually get to escape their city or whatever and go from there."
Nope.
They aren't slavers.
They're here to kill us and steal our Spelljammer.
5 of us at 1st level.
40 Drow.
I'll let Mike finish the story.

Michael Johnson 66 |

Lol, I soon realized I might have thrown a bit much at the 1st-level party, and scratched the encounter altogether, did a rewind, and began the game with them landing on the island without any drow ambush.... Ray's favorite ever RPG session with me as DM, right, Ray? ;p

The werewolves did get you the bulk of the way there, having been about halfway there already when you encountered the 21 werewolves.... But not quite enough for 8....
But with a CR 5 green hag, a CR 4 hydra, and some bonus XP for good RP and accomplishing the noncombat story goal of taking ownership and providing employees for The Stag Inn, you should gain just enough to put each PC at 5th level....

Michael Johnson 66 |

5th level will be a great level to begin your adventures in London at.... At the top level of what I consider "low-level", just at the border of becoming "mid-level"'adventurers, so tough enough to handle some bigger challenges than what you've dealt with so far (for the most part), but still fragile enough to feel the thrill of pretty much always being in mortal danger lol....
5th level is a milestone for PC power levels, too.... When certain spells like fly, fireball, lightning bolt, etc, become available to arcanes, etc....

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Or this map of London, which is more rich on building details....

For some builds it is really good but in general..
Flavoring these Spirits as Vermin will be fun. I'll be sad when the option drops to 6.
