Once Leira casts her spell, Ragnir will make a show of bending up, like he was stooping low, and when he gets to full height, will grumble, and wave a dismissive hand at the giants as he moves to the room where Leira is. Realizing that this probably won't fool them, he readies his axe waiting for giants to come up. Patting his axe, he softly intones, "We'll be lettin' ye drink yer fill o'giant blood soon."

Kaos will think about the plan's for the fort. He figures that if there coming up they will have to come through the double doors to the right.So he will move in front of them but not so close that he would get hit by them if they are kicked open unless they swing the other way in which case he will place himself right in front of it. He will then bring up his magic shield and pull out his new sword.

The Ogres approach the wall cautiously. But when Ragnir rises to the size of a Giant, the Ogres halt, and calls out in the darkness.

Giant:
Forgive us. We thought you were one of those sneaky Orcs.

Speaking of which, the Orc Plaything tries to escape. The Ogres ignore the battlements and gets back to their plaything. Soon, the party hears the screams of the plaything again.

Ogres aren't very bright. The Enlargement spell bluff worked.

"Ok, let me have a look at what is up there in that next room" whispers Leira through message "Wait there a moment so we can decide, but perhaps you are right and we do have to wipe those ogres after all".

She looks at Ragnir "I am happy you are here to protect me in case of ill need friend"

As much stealthy as she can, Leira goes upstairs through the next room. She does not go into the upper floor, but rather she just peers from the shadows to what's there up in the room not drawn in the map.

Perception (+1 vs traps): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29

If Leira feels discovered, she casts vanish as fast as she can and moves towards Ragnir downstairs.


Just to confirm, Leira want to explore the door to the left in K27, then up the stairs?

If so...:
It is a clear night, with a nearly full moon. Leira can make out some details in the low light. Leira doesn't find any traps along her route to the top of the tower. In the dim light and through numerous arrow slits in the tower walls, she sees tracks of dirt and mud leading up and down the tower's stairs. At the top she sees a massive bell that fills this chamber beneath a domed roof. Four open arches provide wide views of the fort and surrounding lands. It is not currently occupied.

It is about two hours until midnight.

Leira will climb up to the bell and disable it as permanently as possible with her thief tools. She does so stealthy so the bell does not ring and no one notices her actions at the bell.

The girl will have a look from the tower to make an idea what else is happening at the fort, but will not do so if she judges she can be seen.

She moves then back to Ragnir and delivers the whispered message "Found a bell. I hopefully ragged it to the point is no longer useful for ringing. Do you wish us to move through the battlements at the North or explore the room next to you with the exit to the courtyard?"
Stealth: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23


Leira disables the bell without causing it to ring. She makes out the Ogres in the inner ward easily enough, but little else from the tower at night.

She has no trouble returning to Ragnir.

"Ok, Ragnir, let's attempt to come back join the others as Kaos suggests" she points towards the battlements "You made it quite good last time, perhaps I can hide behind you if you try to resemble a giant once more"

And provided the dwarf accepts, Leira moves towards the rest of the group, hidden behind the body of the strong warpriest.

There, she calmly inspects the doors after calmly greeting the group.

Thinking that Ragnir is one of the Giants, the Ogres in the lower ward stay busy with their plaything. Leira passes by the Enlarged Dwarf Warpriest, and back to the rest of the party.

Ragnir takes a little while to squeeze through the now narrow doors and corridor.

Leira checks the double doors to the east. She does not detect any dangers on the door.

When Ragnir opens the door, he sees a large, open chamber. The area has been thoroughly gutted. Where smaller rooms once divided this hall, only the remnants of former walls remain, leaving exposed joists jutting from the stone walls like branches.

Two Hill Giants are preparing crude pallets with piles of smelly furs and moldy straw to rest for the night. They both notice the Giant coming in through the west door.

Kaos will follow behind our Dwarf giant. That would also determine how much long Kaos's Shield will be up. My guess is about 7 to 10 rounds have gone by since the spell was cast and the spell is good for one minute per level so yes it is still up.

Round One

The Enlarged Ragnir goes after the second Hill Giant, but he overswings and misses the big brute.

Haskyll moves up and readies an attack.

Ulfgard also moves up and just missed the first big ugly Hill Giant.
(They have the same AC, flat-footed, as otherwise.)

Kaos also engages the first Hill Giant, trying out his new sword. He manages to hack into the big lug.

Leira climbs the walls, literally. But was just enough off balance to miss her arrow shot against the closest Giant.

Ingrahild advances on the nearest Hill Giant that allows room to engage.

Anga rattles off a series of Magic Missiles against the first Hill Giant. It startles the oversized humanoid.

The first Hill Giant, startled, goes, "Huh!", as he is hurt in the assault. He steps back grabbing his Greatclub, and swings at the puny Human. The startled humanoid fails to penetrate Kaos' magic Shield.

Round Two

The oxymoron, aka Ragnir, chops down at the second Giant. But the Giant Dwarf's verbal barrage caused the Warpriest to lose focus. Not to mention, playing with Haskyll's dice.

GMPC Haskyll moves up in front of Anga and stabs at the first Hill Giant, causing a near critical stab.

Ulfgard brings Agrimmosh down hard on the first Giant in the downward stroke, but misses on the upward rebound. The blow staggers the big lug just enough for Kaos to achieve a near critical slice using Gorum's Thorn. The first Hill Giant wavers briefly before it tumbled and falls. It falls unconscious, not far from death.

Leira anchors herself along the ceiling, and gets a clear shot against the second Hill Giant. The arrow strikes true.

Ingrahild briefly watches the first Giant topple and fall. The Dwarf Ranger moves against the second Hill Giant.

The second Hill Giant takes a swipe at the approaching Dwarf, delivering a blow against Ingrahild.
