Saleem Magmum |
Saleem nods as he prepares himself for what is likely an epic conclusion.
No worries, GM keep pushing.
Tasarë "Willow" Solaera |
"I will," Willow says, "Let's see if we can end this cleanly."
She heads upstairs, and nodding to the rest as she reaches the top, passes the threshold of Tasskar's lair, hand dropping to her quiver in mid-stride, expecting trouble.
Sorry about the delay, GM. I didn't want to push ahead before the others got a chance to have their say, but I'll do what I can to keep things moving without being too obnoxious, I hope.
Tûrak Kavendarth |
"I´ll go with you, sir!"
Tûrak stands by Balenar's side.
GM Baerlie |
I think we already lost Shin and Alexis somewhere, no posting for more than two weeks now... I will bot them.
Balenar moves up the stairs to the top of the tower. As soon as you are upstairs you see the following:
The four wings of the tower are completely open on this level, forming one great, cross-shaped chamber with arched ceilings. The decayed remnants of a carpet run from the doorways at the end of each wing, meeting in the center, where a spiral staircase drops out of sight below. A large, throne-like chair stands in the middle of the eastern wing next to a big chest.
Saleem Magmum |
Is Saleem's Mage armor still up?
Tasarë "Willow" Solaera |
As she steps into the room proper, Willow dangles an arrow from her hand, ready to nock and fire at a moment's notice. Looking around quickly, she notes the throne and chest, but doesn't notice any obvious troglodytes. "It doesn't look like there's anyone here," she hisses to the others in an urgent whisper.
I suppose he could be hiding? Willow will take a more careful look around before heading to the chest. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Tasarë "Willow" Solaera |
"Looks like I've spoken too soon," she says, before shouting, "Over here, behind the throne!" She breaks right to get a better shot, but even as her fingers roll off the bowstring she knows it will go wide. Attack, with Point Blank Shot: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
GM Baerlie |
Willow shoots at the tail, but suddenly it disappears behind the throne causing the arrow to hit the wall behind the throne. You hear a fast movement behind the throne and then you see a big crocodile mouth.

Yes GM. Have attached the spoiler for you to see. Text bolded. My target though was against the snapjaw. Those blind creatures are protected.
A vivid cone of clashing colors springs forth from your hand, causing creatures to become stunned, perhaps also blinded, and possibly knocking them unconscious. Each creature within the cone is affected according to its HD.
2 HD or less: The creature is unconscious, blinded, and stunned for 2d4 rounds, then blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, and then stunned for 1 round. (Only living creatures are knocked unconscious.)
3 or 4 HD: The creature is blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, then stunned for 1 round.
5 or more HD: The creature is stunned for 1 round.
Sightless creatures are not affected by color spray.
Tûrak Kavendarth |
Tûrak will just reload his pistol.
Tasarë "Willow" Solaera |
Sorry for the delay; I didn't want to jump too far ahead out of initiative order.
As an unexpected lull opens up in the battle while Tasskar is stunned by Saleem's magic, Willow takes advantage of the opportunity to let fly another arrow before he can recover. Attack, w. Point Blank Shot: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 damage?: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 Phooey.
GM Baerlie |
Kaede shoots another arrow at snapjaw, but hits only a claw of the crocodile. Snapjaw and Tasskar are still unable to do any actions.
Alexis moves forward and attacks Snapjaw with her bladed scarf and slices some pieces out of his body.

Seeing Alexis close and the space become too tight for arrows, Willow tosses her bow aside, draws her halberd, and moves past the stunned crocodile to attack its master, but her haste throws her off balance.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 5 damage: 1d10 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 3

Of course this would happen after I mocked the dice, lol.

Saleem shoots his last fire bolt at Tasskar. Tasskar's pants catch on fire and burn his skin. Tûrak also shoots at Tasskar, but hits only one of Tasskar's toenails. Kaede shoots an arrow at Snapjaw, making a big hole in the monster's belly. Willow draws her halberd and attacks Tasskar. The weak ground is shaking from the weight of four creatures and she misses her target.

As Tasskar stoops to pick up his sword, Willow brings her halberd down in a sweeping arc...
Hopefully that's good enough, and Tasskar softened up, but I'm afraid Willow's in serious trouble if this AoO doesn't hit! :o
GM Baerlie |
The AoO hits, but not enough damage to bring him down :(
Alexis throws a ray of frost at Tasskar.

Cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Tasarë "Willow" Solaera |
Willow clambers up again from a mess of her own and troglodyte blood, shaking the darkness of death from her eyes. She absent-mindedly explores the tear in her armour where Tasskar managed to land a dangerous blow even while curving under the weight of her own. Healed by Balenar’s magic, the only trace of the wound is a twinge running through the shocked nerves of her side, but even that is already fading. “Thank you, Balenar. That was a closer thing than I would have liked.”
An extended smear of blood lets her guess the lost seconds while she was unconscious. “Nice shot, Shin.” A moment more, and… Arrows, girl. There’s a reason we use them. With that silent rebuke to herself, Willow considers the group as a whole, and smiles ruefully, “A good fight, everyone. Sorry for the fuss.”
GM Baerlie |
With the defeat of Tasskar and his troglodytes, the Fallen Fortress stands abandoned once more, but it’s only a matter of time before something else moves into the damaged siege tower and poses a new threat.
After searching the rest of the tower for useful things and treasures for your employer you return to Fed Warang. "This is amazing. The objects you took back are several hundreds of years old. Thank you very much for returning them and I'm glad you all survived." he sais with big eyes while he's looking at the pieces in front of him. Then he turns to a servant and says "Please, would you hand each of them a pouch with 479 gp." The servant does as Warang told him and guides you out of the house.
You rescued Balenar Forsend, he offers to take you to the Pathfinder Society’s Grand Lodge in Absalom, where he will sponsor them for membership in the Pathfinder Society (if you aren't already), an organization of explorers, archaeologists, and adventurers. After a short evaluation that determines you don’t need additional training, the leaders of the Society accept you as initiates. As new Pathfinders, you will have your choice of missions across Golarion and even the opportunity to have your exploits published in the hallowed pages of the Pathfinder Chronicles.
The End
