"They shall sing of our battle for ages!" replies Vergil, with a sarcastic grin. "The nasty thing did scratch me a bit, but it should heal by tomorrow. I think my pride took more damage than my flesh. What's inside that sarcophagus?" I will appraise what I can... 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Vergil spins around as he notices movement in the dark, drawing his longsword and striking out at the unseen fiend. After slashing, he briefly flickers out of appearance and reappears at Piatra's side. "It seems we have some visitors... When Vergil enters the house he is immediately distracted by the books, and begins bubbling around looking at things excitedly. Eventually, halfway through the reading of the will, he pops back into view, once again serious. When the reading of the will is done Vergil comments,

Immediately following the dramatic pause of Hasmir's story, Vergil begins talking from the back of the crowd - a little cheerier than the occasion calls for, "I first met the professor with his back against the wall facing a terrible fiend! Luckily for the both of us I wasn't paying much attention to where I was going that day and I ended up right in between the two of them. The foe was disoriented enough that we were able to escape together, and as we fled we laughed and became close friends, as those who survive peril often do. To Piatra: "Hello old friend! I wish we could have reunited under better circumstances." Vergil takes a position behind the coffin in the procession, solemnly following the pallbearers. When the villagers confront the party, Vergil moves beside the coffin and addresses them: "Good sirs! You must understand the greatness that this man possessed. "Hello, Hello!" bursts a tall, robed elf, seemingly from out of nowhere. His tone and manner are slightly more cheery and loud than meets the occasion, as if his mind is elsewhere. He is remarkably thin has long silver hair, glowing from underneath his brown hood. Unbefitting to his appearance, he has a youthful charm about him. Suddenly, with a more serious expression, he bows slightly and begins talking calmly: "Pleased to make all of your acquaintances. The Professor was a dear friend of mine, and I offer my sincerest condolences. You may call me Vergil." |
