Better than living in Missouri, used to live there. Work down here, and the weather is better. Plus I'm from Louisiana originally, so being in Texas is kind of like being back in Louisiana, but without the 280 days per year of rain.

Lord Manticore |

It could be worse than that, I'm originally from Chicago. Talk about crappy weather, crappy traffic, lousy sports teams...About the only thing I miss is being able to go jogging along Lake Shore Drive, facing Lake Michigan. From my old apartment, I could go about 15 miles from the Soth Side to near the end of the beaches along that road. Along the way, I could see Soldier Field (now a giant toilet bowl, or an inverted UFO, depending on your view), The Field Museum, Grant Park, all those lovely beaches...mmm
Good lord, I need to get to a beach. Anyone know of a good place in Galveston where I can get an old fashioned and some beach shorts? ;P

Ugh, DC. Traffic. Nasty.

Remember, Androids do have to sleep to regain spells. Unless your race specifically says you don't sleep, you have to sleep to regain spells. If you don't sleep, you have to 'rest' which is basically sitting around doing nothing. If you don't have spells though (like Shi'Vatha) then no worries.

Lord Manticore |

I've always played by the concept that, if you haven't cast any spells in a given day, then you don't need to rest, just for the purpose of re-memorizing spells. You can rest for the sake of resting, but you don't have to reset your spells every single time.
Just makes sense to me; do you really want to read the same novel over and over every day, if you don't have to?
Just my 2 gp.

mdt |

Nope, never had any GM require rest just to reset uncast spells (rules seem to say you don't have to either). Only time you have to rest (other than avoiding fatigue) is to reset spells. Now, if you wanted to pray for new spells or memorize new ones, I think you probably need to rest and be fresh...

This is how I always interpreted it.

Posting this in all my games.
I'll be travelling this week, Monday through Wednesday, and I likely won't be able to post as much as I usually do. I should be back to normal posting by the end of the week.

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Yeah that seems to be happening to me too.

Glornug |

It seems to be doing it again, at least for me. When I tried to re-roll Perception, the Submit Post button acts like the Preview button and never actually makes the post.
It doesn't seem to be affecting any of my other PbP games or forum posts.

Feel free to make the perception (and even initiaive) rolls for us, if you like, so you won't have to wait around for us all to make the rolls. That being said, if we continue to have trouble posting, the Discussion thread may need to become the new Gameplay thread. :P

I get to the airport at 4:30 Wednesday for my 6:30 flight.
United tries to get by cheap and puts just enough gas in the jet to make it to destination. They screw up, have to turn around once they make it to the strip, and then take 2.5 hours to fuel up again and take off.
The plane lands at 8:30 (this is the plane coming to where I am). They swear they will have us out of there in 10 minutes.
At 9:15 we take off. We land at 10:45. My connecting flight is at 10:55, and is in another terminal. I run to the train that connects terminals. I get to the gate at 10:58. They didn't hold my plane, it's against policy.
It takes me 45 minutes of arguing with them but they won't give me a hotel, because it was the weather, not them putting too little fuel or refusing ot hold my flight for 3 minutes. BS.
I get to the hotel about 1:30 (actually in the hotel room that is). I'm so afraid I'll sleep through the alarm at this point, that I can't sleep. So I spend 4 hours resting on the bed watching tv before going back to the airport for a 7:25 flight.
The 7:25 flight leaves the gate at 7:45. We take off at 8:30. I get to my airport at 9:20. It then takes me another hour to get my luggage (they got it on the plane that took off without me the night before!), and finally get my car and head off home. I run into traffic, and it's 11:30 by the time I actually get into my house.
I then promptly fall asleep in front of the computer trying to work after having had no sleep for 36 hours.
So yeah, sorry for not posting yesterday. I'll get posts up today sometime.

*sigh* The problem with the forum is happening to me again. Feel free to roll initiative for me. Or I suppose I can roll it here, just not sure if I'll be able to post what she's going to do.
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

I'll update character shortly.

Max per level, it's in the house rules, first discussion thread post.

I want to give everyone about a weeks notice: Next week, my company is flying me to Nassau for our annual meeting. Theoretically, I'm supposed to have wi-fi access in my room (although I suspect that I'll have to pay for it), so I should be able to post. The problem is that, with our meetings being held at the pool, with the dolphins, and at some of the restaurants and lounges there, I'm not likely to have much time to open my tablet, let alone do any serious posting. So don't feel like I've abandoned the place if you don't hear from me. I'll be out from Tuesday through Sunday of next week (8/5-8/10)
My goal is to post once per day, but it will likely be either early in the morning or late afternoon, if that. Also, Tuesday and Sunday are travel days for me so don't expect to see anything on those days.

Shi'Vatha |

Posting this in all my games, both run and played in.
As you all know, I've been rather busy and traveling a lot lately. This is going to continue for awhile. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up the posts. It's now confirmed I'll be going on an overseas job for 6 weeks at the end of August, coming back early October. I will hopefully be able to continue posting, but wanted to give advance warning.
I'll be 11 or 12 hours off my normal schedule, as I'm going literally to the other side of the planet. :) First trip to this area, so I'm not sure what the internet will be like, or even if I can get to Paizo. So if, after I leave, I vanish for a month, please don't give up on me, it just means I couldn't connect due to country filters or something.

mdt |

It's not that, I'm supposed to be in a decent hotel with internet. I just don't know how good that internet will be, or what site filters may be on it. I wouldn't think Paizo would be very controversial, but, the artwork in the books are somewhat risque at times and it may have made it onto a ban list at the government level.
