Fair enough, Echane. Do you want me or Shi to give the signal to attack? Right now it's you and Locke, and I'll bot Selene, Corian, and Nijena for this battle.

Shi:
you manage to climb down to the ground, and you notice that this building you climbed down from is some kind of temple, or at least it appears to have been so at some point. It is rather rundown, but you can make out some kind of movement through the stain-glass window next to you.

Shi notes that, and keeps it in the corner of his eye, in case it turns out to be dangerous.

@Shi: roll Perception; you think you can hear some kind of conversation inside the building, near where you stand.

I'm just waiting to hear from a prospective player as to his starting position, and then I'll post from that point.

Jack:
OK, so you find yourself inside what used to be a temple; it has seen better days. You are bound and gagged, but not blindfolded. You can see, about 10' in front of you, a half-orc wearing robes, pacing back and forth. He is deciding whether or not to sacrifice you to his deity, or to just kill you and feed your remains to the other orcs. I don't want to step on your background, so let me know how you managed to end up in this situation.

Go ahead and make a Perception check, Jack.

Last chance on telling me who is doing what...

Shi is still waiting for the noisy not so sneaky types to come in like gangbusters so he can flank with them from behind.

dm:
They thought, I was working for some high powered Demons. After all, I am a tiefling, and they caught me socializing with some high powered magic people, as well as other people that were intelligent but were not humans or even close to being human. Others were human/elves/dwarves but were disguises to make themselves look like powerful beings. They suspect I was a Demon or working for them, and really it was just the friends I had. I was walking alone delivering packages to my buddies, and they kidnapped me as they hid in an alley way just 2 blocks from where I was suppose to deliver as they had the timing down pat, and noone saw me get kidnapped, as me friends knew me as their mail man. Inside the package is a chain shirt, 4 rings, and some fancy looking boots. Not of the stuff is magical, but it all looks magical. Not to mention the the chain shirt looks as if it is adamantine, but it isn't. Well, technically speaking, it is 1% adamantine, as it has a thin layer of adamantine coding on its outer layer to make it look like the real thing and it is painted. It was carefully crafted to look adamantine, as the outside of it is adamantine, but actually break down the chain links and you'll see that it is filled with normal steel inside inside of that. Also turn the chain mail inside out and you would clearly not see any adamantine, but it is painted. If you were to melt down the chain shirt and abstract the adamantine from it, it would weigh about 0.5 pounds. Anyway, they thought I was a powerful creature worth getting rid of or getting too, as they think I'm a Demon and they think I have high quality stuff, when really I was delivering a counterfeit package. The people I was delivering too know it is a counterfeit package, it is just all for play, reenactment, and the number one thing my friends use it for is to fool others into thinking that they are adventurers. In other words, my friends are a bunch of show offs, and they think they hit the jackpot, a bunch of super rich adventuring Demons and other supernatural creatures, boy are they fooled. perception: 5 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 + (17) = 22

Jack:
Okay, I can run with that. Let me think on how I want to handle this then.

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

In Orc..."Hey, what was that over there?"

Shi doesn't understand the orc, but unless it's looking in his direction, he assumes it's his clumsy friends preparing to attack that's drawn the attention of the orc.
