In Character Story:
I am. Such small words. Such important words. I am. They only thing in my life I know with utter certainty to be true.
I remember nothing about my life before I awoke this morning, yet I feel .... nothing. Should I be uncertain, afraid? I am incomplete. There is a hole in my being. Something is missing. Should I mourn its loss?
The rays of the slowly rising sun slowly warm my face. Yes. That is the way of things. I should open my eyes ... I had forgotten.
There in the distance, the sun peeks over a small rise. Beyond that, wisps of smoke on the morning breeze speak of a small town.
Slowly sitting up from my bed of broken and burned tree branches, realization comes to me. I am injured. My robes frayed and singed. I must have fallen far to cause such damage. This is not right.
I will find no answers here. Perhaps in the settlement ahead. Or, perhaps I should wait for the answers to find me. My departure could not have been unnoticed. Nor my arrival.
Gathering my blackened robes about me, I begin the trek towards the town.
Now. If only I could remember my name......
Background:
Mark V, also known as Felicity, is one of twelve androids created as the personal bodyguard of the ancient wizard Volkard Grymhaldt. A meddler in the affairs of men and gods with many enimies of true power.
Three days ago, Volkard's machinations came to a sudden and final ending. His defenses breached by the minions of Orcus. His personal demi-plane torn from the very fabric of the Astral Plane and its inhabitants flung to the far reaches of creation.
Felicity survived her ordeal, but not unscathed. Her memory core has been permanently damaged. Much of what she was has been permanently lost. No longer a minor power in her own right, and with no memory of her former power, Mark V is slowly recovering from her passage through the planer rift that consumed her former home.
Seperated from her during her fall, the blade Sorrow continues to drift through the void, seeking to rejoin its true owner. Forged upon the same alter of magic, Neither can truly be complete without the other. Perhaps, one day, the Sorrow and Mark V will reunite. Only then can true healing begin for either.
Of Mark V's brothers and sisters, who can know. Perhaps a few survivied. Perhaps not. Even if her brothers and sisters escaped the grasp of Orca, there is little chance of another falling on this world.
Appearance:
When not concealing herself, it quickly becomes apparent Mark V does not quite fit in. In mannerisms and humor, she has little connection to the people around her. While making efforts to fit in, Mark V never seems to quite grasp the concepts of humor, sarcasm or irony.
In appearance she is 5'4" tall, with shoulder length red hair. Her clothing tends towards the unadorned. A sturdily woven, skin tight material of unknown origin serves as her primary apparel. Over this, in an attempt to remain inconspicuous, she wears black silken robes hood raised. Monks are easily dismissed and soon forgotten. Right.
