Raven Silvertongue |
After signaling the others about the 3 creatures in the other room, Raven will get her bow out (Readied Action: If any of those creatures move our way in an aggressive fashion, Raven will shoot the closet one).
Melia Henderthane |
"Perhaps we should see what those in the next room are up to before we raise a fuzz here? Let's see what we have." With that Melia sneaks to the entrance of the other room and peers inside.

Gideon Ross |
After dragging the prisoner back into the other room, Gideon sees the body floating in the water and suddenly remembers that the alligator kept them from searching the corpse. Leaving Xeno to the prisoner for the moment, he heads back to the water to try and retrieve the body and get it to land do it can be searched.

My 11 week old is in hospital, nothing life threatening but rather distracting please bot Xeno when required.
Raven Silvertongue |
Raven will hold her position, hoping that someone can communicate with these creatures. She will continue to hide in the shadows, with her bow readied, in case they come to attack.
DM_Kumo Gekkou |
Besides getting a little wet, you are able to retrieve the mutilated remains and drag them ashore. Enough of the face remains that he could likely be identified. The body has been clawed, chewed, and rotting in water.
The corpse looks like it was clawed to death. The crew marks seemed to have been inflicted after death.
Gideon Ross |
"I'm not going to be any use here, I'm sorry to say. All I see is a chew toy. Poor fellow. I wonder if the alligator killed him or was just a means of getting rid of the body?" Gideon muses aloud.

Xeno the black widow |
"Quicksilver, you knew the man right? Is that him? And looks for marks that he might have been attacked by these bird things. Xeno turns back to the captive and tries to shake it awake.
Raven Silvertongue |
If the three creatures in the other room hear the noise and start coming my way, Raven will shout out to them, "Stop, we want to talk, not fight." If they do not stop, and look to be getting aggressive, Raven will let loose her readied action (Bow).
Short Bow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Gideon Ross |
"Stop struggling! We are not trying to harm you! Calm down!" Gideon says, first in Common, then in Elven, hoping that it will speak one of those two languages. If it doesn't seem to recognize either tongue, Gideon will see if the others can try others that they know.

Xeno the black widow |
Xeno nods to Gideon and tries repeating his words in Draconic, halfing and infernal. Lastly he repeats it in halting abyssal as she struggles to find words to match concepts that just don't exist in that language.
DM_Kumo Gekkou |
The creatues looks on in confusion as you try to communicate with it, continuing to cry out in its bizarre language.
The four creatures in the next room begin to follow the sounds, and do stop when Raven offers peace. Three of them hug the shadows of the doorway while one remains a few feet away speaking in a heavily accented Chelaxian. "Why iss you here?"
I am sorry there were 4 creatures in the next room not 3. I apologize for any confusion.
Xeno the black widow |
Xeno backs Raven up "We don't want to fight you, we haven't hurt your friend here and will release her as soon as we are sure your will not attack us"
Melia Henderthane |
"That's not really going to happen. You are here hanging out in the basement of another friend of ours. We would like to why you are here and how you got here." Melia seemed calm and collected but with her hands on her belt she could instantly reach for her sword if that proved to be needed.
Belhave was similarly attentive, closely watching the movement of the three figures that weren't speaking.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Gideon Ross |
"It does seem odd to find you here, and you'll forgive our suspicions, but...well...we did happen across you next to a room with a half-eaten torso. We only want to make sure that no one else is going to be in any danger after we leave."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Raven Silvertongue |
"Yes, tell us what you are doing here. And tell us what happened to the body. We don't wish to harm you or your friend, but we need to know the truth."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
DM_Kumo Gekkou |
The creatures speak in their foreign tongue for a few minutes and finally seem to come to a consensus. "My ssissters and I were being ssmuggled by a friend." the ravenlike humanoid explains. "Thiss one killed our friend. Now we are sstuck. Thiss one wass our ssissster adopted, but sshe is no more family. Sshe is crazzy, and jusstice needss to be done. But sshee iss family. We banisshed her, but more musst be done."
Xeno the black widow |
Sorry for the delay, turns out that going on holiday with a 3 month old chews up a lot of time (in hindsight I think I should have been able to figure that out) and didn't get to keep up with posting.
"I generally like to give people a chance to mend their ways but I'm not able to heal crazy and crazy that drives to murder is dangerous. Can anyone help her? Does she speak the common tongue? I won't want kill her without hearing her side."
"As for your other problem, I'm no smuggler but maybe one of my friends knows one, at the very least I suspect we could find one more easily than you. Can you give us details of your plans so we can help."
Melia Henderthane |
'What do you propose then? What should be done with her?" Melia looked at at who appeared to be their leader. She feared she already knew what she wanted and she could understand.
Belhave shifted focus to the bound creature. If it would try to get up she'd be quick to bring it down again.
Xeno the black widow |
Xeno stops and when speaks it is obvious the question was unexpectedly personal to her "If a relative of mine killed through craziness, I'd do my best bring them to a priest how might be able to help them while hiding them from those that would harm them for the killing. If they did to protect the ones they love then I would try to protect them in return. However had they killed for personal gain I would get revenge, slowly destroying what they held to have more valuable than another's life, again keeping them safe from the authorities and others until I had finished."
In a lighter tone she continues "But you said she wasn't family anymore, dealing with non family members is easier."
Melia Henderthane |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Melia offers a gentle smile, "It depends. If they killed someone innocent I'd hand them over to the authorities, sadly the authorities in this town have become grossly corrupt as of late."
Melia is quiet for a while before continuing, "Do you think we could keep her quiet for a while? Perhaps we could exile her to the hinterlands outside Kintargo? She could make a living for herself while also being less of a risk to others."
Gideon Ross |
Sense Motive: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Gideon adds his voice to the others, agreeing that a great deal of how one responds to a killing is the reason it was done.

Xeno the black widow |
"Well we are in difficult position then blood on our hands what ever we do. Maybe it would be best to do our 'civic duty' and hand her in to the authorities. Then it would be their blood on my hands, something I've become comfortable with."
is it an evil act to do the 'right thing' in the hopes it will go badly? What do people think?
DM_Kumo Gekkou |
Turning her over to the Thrune would likely lead to investigateing the murder, which would likely turn up Nan's smuggling operation, and this safe house.
"Becausse sshe hass been my ssisster ssince we were hatchlingss. I have watched madnessss take her. Sshe killss without reasson, even when we tried to sstop her. You can not know the pain of banisshing your own kin. Knowing what musst be done."
Xeno the black widow |
Turning her over to the Thrune would likely lead to investigateing the murder, which would likely turn up Nan's smuggling operation, and this safe house.
Thanks, I wasn't quite sure how crazy we were talking. I got the impression that she was likely attack the Authorities on sight but we are talking a little less crazy than that.
Xeno sighs "I'm not sure what help we can really be. We can be the instrument of her death on your behalf but her fate is not something we can judge in the end it has to be your decision. And even if you decided that she needed to die I think it would be best for everyone if you did it."
