Alexei here. Will crunch tomorrow. Hmm, can't seem to edit the roster. Alexei's roles are Treasure, High Priest, Magister.
Combat Role: Support.
Non-combat Role: Colonization expert. Knowledge: History, engineering. Practical applications of magic.
Alexei is intended to become a Mystic Theurge and round out whatever magical bases need covering. I have created him as a Cleric first as that seemed the most sensible story wise. I could also switch to wizard as the first level without disrupting anything. Which becomes the focus will be determined by need and story.

Coming in at just a hair under 6 feet, Radek is a kind soul who offers what he can and drinks whenever he can. His hair is short and brown with a slight curl to it and his eyes are bright and hazel colored.
Ever since his youth, he was a sort of an oddball to his other family members. While the Lebeda's were already cosmopolitan, Radek made it a habit of acting so at nearly every opportunity. Genial and surprisingly wise for his young years, he has caused minor controversy in Brevoy for his parties and covorting with those of lower station than his. Deciding to not hurt the family reputation more than he had, though, he picked up the holy symbol and rapier of Cayden Cailean and set out for Restov to preach (and drink) the faith.
With word of adventures to the South, the young Teof-Lebeda decides that it is probably best for him to head there himself. Afterall, don't border regions need the wise words (and drinks) of a priest?

As for writing samples for my PbP style, here are a couple of samples.
The first one is a sample of my RP style, which, in the campaign the character is in, we have fairly free reign over when it will have no impact on any plot points, central NPC's, or other players. The character in question is a fairly powerful (in his own mind at least) arcanist named Argor Constantine.
Example 1

This next post is a sample of my style for a combat post, with a character I almost considered rehashing for this campaign, Vincent Teldas. (still might as my second submission...)

Standing in at 5'8" and a lean 160, Tylmae bears the look of a woman who would be pretty in a dress if not for the broken nose (gained in a bar fight), small scar on her cheek (a duel with one of the so-called "swordlords") and her steely blue eyes (which show no compassion towards those of higher station). He hair is a light chestnut brown worn short save a small braid in the back.
Born in the rough and tumble town of Restov, Tylmae has always been cold and hard. Born from a tryst between some noble in the house of Rogarvia and her mother, all she has to her claim of nobility is herself. Knowing she would not be able to prove it save under the most unique of circumstances since both House Rogarvia is gone and she has no other proof than the words of her elven mother, she instead turned to the steel of her ancestors for strength.
Where other in Restov seek glory as an Aldori Swordlord, Tylmae "Blue Hood" Myris has gained a reputation for being a bit of a tough. Working odd jobs as a bouncer, her slim looks (from her mother's side) hide her coiled strength. When a mere thumping doesn't work, her mother's old sword does.
With the call to the Stolen Lands going up and findling little of interest in "the old town", Tylmae packs up to head south. She'll either be a hero or a bandit in the end, but for now it's something different.
Alright, as for kingdom roles -

The Mechanics of this submission are in my profile but here comes the fluff
Background: Aram Longshanks was the result of a mad gamble. The local orcs in the wilds bordering Southern Brevoy wanted to produce a more intelligent half-orc to be used as a War leader in the future and in order to get one from extraordinarily good stock they made a deal with one of the Noble Houses, house Surtova - in exchange for a period of 10 years of peace, the tribe would get a daughter of the family. This was welcome news to the house as well as they had a bastard daughter hanging about that no one knew what to do with and whom no one wanted around to make for a messy succession crisis. So the deal was made and born to that poor wretch of a woman and the big brutish orc war chief was produced Aram. Or at least, that's the official version of the story. From the beginning Aram's mother was after revenge for being treated this way by her family. Since the idea of Aram was for him to be a war chief someday, his education was left up to his mother who educated Aram to be very very clever and to use his brutish appearance as a mask to hide in plain sight with. She taught him how to sway people with his words as much as with his fists, a balanced approach to make her son into a weapon.
When he reached adulthood his mother sent him away to be trained by an order of Brevoyan knights, ostesnsibly as part of this larger ruse. It soon became clear, thanks to the shield his mother gave him, what Aram's identity was and he got to experience the typical bastard experience of being a part of society and yet hated by that same society. He opted not to return to the orc tribe and instead became a part of a feared shocktroop of knights serving under House Surtova. When his hair streaked white prematurely, his comrades began calling him "Old" and the nickname stuck even though he is only 22.
When the opportunity presented itself for Aram to be a part of the Brevoyan expedition to the Stolen lands, the powers that be in House Surtova once more mobilized to push an inconvenient person out of their machinations. The idea was that this would be murder by bandit and that the Bastard line sired by his grandfather would die out once and for all. For his part...Aram is still a schemer. He knows what House Surtova did to his mother and plans to get that revenge on them. This expedition gives him the chance to acquire the power and influence necessary to embarrass them on a grander scale. To that end, he plans to make the Stolen Lands fledgling kingdom into a powerhouse. If he has to do that as its first Duke so be it. But really any position of power and prestige will do - he plans to get the best revenge possible, living well and dying of old age. He will also have to deal with his orc tribal family as well - he is meant to return as their conquering hero and if he doesn't that may not end well for him...
Appearance:
Aram is a tall 6 foot 3 inches with light hair for an orc, streaked with white prematurely - most likely a manifestation of his human heritage. He dresses sensibly and wears a scimitar at his belt - a signature weapon showing he deserves the regality of the sword, but that his is a curved and twisted path.
Role The role that would best suit him is probably either Ruler or Councilor given his goals, but General also make a certain kind of sense given his ability profile.
Age: 22 years old, despite the nickname

I want those two hours back :(
I'll post the character's background (again) sometime on Friday.
I see a lot of people have posted what they think they will be doing with their characters as they go up in level. Is that something you'd like to see from all players?
I try to always make sure to copy to an eternal file (notepad, etc) before I post anything. The Paizo site has still managed to sustain itself on a diet of tears and misery from posts it ate when I was in a rush, but it's definitely reduced the number of lost hours.
I look forward to seeing what you have when you get back to it, though.
As for character direction, at this point it isn't really needed unless you've got some convoluted mutliclass path like an Oradin (Paladin 1, Life Oracle 1, etc) that will greatly change your combat role in a level. I'll definitely ask for people's character intentions later, but right now it's purely optional.

I have some aliases that I made for campaigns that either didn't get off the ground or that I didn't get selected for.
Do you have any issue with my reusing the alias (just the alias) in order to cut down on my alias space?
I'm fine if the Alias wasn't uniquely created for this recruitment, as long as it's clear in the profile who the character for the campaign is.
A re-used character Alias that's statted as a Mythic Gestalt level 20 I might raise an eyebrow at.

Non-combat Role: Party face, bluff, arcana and magic support
Kingdom Role: Councilor, Diplomat, Magister
Character sheet in the alias link above.
It was time to run…again.
Who had found him now, despite his abundance of caution? The Whispering Way? Dami-Anaeshem? The Red Mantis? Auntie Baltwin? It didn’t matter…he hadn’t much time.
He already knew who he would be next. The voluptuous elven red-head, Kyriani, and if anyone saw through the illusion, he would now be 'Mr. Copperpot.'
Where to? Aunt Tessy’s? Join The Silver Crusade? What about that land rush south of Brevoy? Far away and with no inhabitants! Perfect! He would venture forth to these ‘Stolen Lands,’ far from whoever had tracked him down. This burgeoning kingdom in the wild had need of Councilors, Diplomats, Magisters…it didn’t really matter, so long as he could get out of here.
Hurrying to grab some cases of scrolls, his pipe, and of course, his familiar Ripley, the gnome rushed out into the night, never to return again. His new life would be in the Stolen Lands, as ‘Mr. Copperpot.’
Mr. Copperpot is, in a word, paranoid. He suffers from a long-standing pattern of pervasive distrust and suspiciousness of others. He will nearly always believe that other people’s motives are suspect or even malevolent. He worries that others will exploit, harm, or deceive him, even if little or no evidence exists to support this expectation. Mr. Copperpot is hypervigilant for potential threats, and often acts in a guarded, secretive, or devious manner. To protect himself, he uses his powerful illusions to create a veil he lives behind. He can be anything…anyone.
Although often he may appear to be cooperative, rational, and unemotional, under the surface boil hostility, stubbornness, and sarcastic expressions. What caused this inherent distrust? Can he learn to cooperate and trust others? Can he make friends and contribute? All of this remains to be seen, and Mr. Copperpot does not share many answers. Who could he trust to share them with?
Halfling Mourning his Dead Horse
Halfling Stuntman Humming a Tune
I'd very much love a spot in this and won't disappoint as a player!

Character #2 for Eddv, the master trader, and certainly not traitor!, Gresham Lake
Background: Gresham Lake is anything but small-time, and that's a fact. You might think the fact that he was born into a wandering band of Varisian gypsies, complete with harrowers and tumbler and all the dogs that go with it would make you think of him but nothing more than a street rat and that would be unwise. Gresham Lake began running with Varisian swindlers as a child and learned all the tricks of the trade. and he would tell you himself that he was leading that gang from age 8! His role in the gang was that of fencing the stolen goods, often using his good looks
Recently he came into a windfall. They managed to swindle a merchant out of his cart and all the trade goods inside of it! Of course, they also got caught! All of them except Gresham. Some would tell you its because he fell asleep in the cart while everyone else moved on to the next job, but the truth is he knew the fuzz was hot on their trail and wisely hid in plain sight. With his gang behind bars (for now!) and Gresham in sole possession of a yak and a whole load of low value but definitely marketable goods...but where to market them? That's when he came up with the brilliant idea to take them to the frontier, an idea that he definitely didn't lift from a flier calling for people to go on an expedition to the Stolen Lands, no sir. He made a bet with himself that he could turn a single wagon full of goods into a fortune able to sustain a trade empire. The truly great thieves never have to steal anything at all - they call them merchants and it's got a much better life expectancy and quality of living!
Description : A short and thin waif of a boy with a mop of slicked back black hair and a bare face, borne with dark brown eyes. He wears an outfit of bright red cloth to call attention to himself and his wares.
Age: 17
Role in the Party Melee Skirmisher, support, some knowledge
Role Out of Combat Face, specialized in trade
 Kingdom Role Treasurer

Raven leans casually against the frigid stone wall of the Tipsy Kobold. The winter months were always hard, but they seemed to have hit her home harder than usual. Her mother looked at her with tired, pleading eyes, her auburn hair swept up in a bun. "Please, Raven, won't you stay for the winter? I need the extra help. With Janil leaving, I can barely make ends meet..."
Raven shook her head, sighing. "Mother... that's exactly the reason I need to leave! Even if I stayed to help, the Kobold wouldn't keep afloat for much longer. You need the extra money."
Raven's mother hung her head, downcast and defeated. "I'm just worried about you, my little autumn tree."
Stepping forward to embrace her mother, Raven whispered in her ear,"I know, mother. I know."
Raven casually wipes the blood from her mouth as the scarred orcs surrounding her and her compatriots growled. Wasting no time with banter, Raven analyzes the stance of the one with an eyepatch, her finely tuned mind zeroing in on its weaknesses.
Move action to Studied Target the orc with the eyepatch.
With almost superhuman speed, the young warrior lashes out with her massive sword towards the orc.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (5, 5) + 7 = 17
Raven is ready and reporting for duty.

Submissions are definitely continuing at a steady pace! I'm going to spend some time this weekend tackling the mountain of reading I have to do and updating the Submission Roster with anyone that hasn't added themselves (no worries if you haven't, I just need to start on the book keeping for this monster.) I've mostly just been spot checking / skimming so far and haven't had time for an in-depth analysis except when people have asked me specific questions. If anyone does have questions, don't hesitate to ask.
I have had received lot of questions of "Is this class feature ok?" or "Is this background hook ok?" Generally speaking, if people are willing to work with me to tweak details, they shouldn't be determining factors for the selection process. If someone does has character / backstory elements that you feel that are unmutable / vital to the character's identity that would have a direct impact on the gameplay ("I've lived in the Æther all my life and have the entirity of it mapped!" or "This feat is banned in PFS but I'm basing my character around it") We should talk. Everybody should expect some minor modifications though. I'm going to work with everyone selected to massage character backgrounds a bit (my plan is that everyone in the group would know at 1-2 group members prior to the expedition.)
Anyway, time for me to crank up some epic music playlists and pour through characters!

Ozak is a Slayer who uses an orc double axe. I always wanted to play a character who uses an orc double axe and I think the slayer class makes it viable.
Furthermore Ozak also is somewhat optimized for Intimidate skill... he will eventually be quite good at it but that requires feats he doesn't have yet. As a slayer he has a decent compliment of skills.

You clearly put a ton of work into this and I think just everyone wants to be a part of it.

Iff here, with my second submission. All necessary information is in the character profile.
Character summary
Bogdan is my ‘oddball’ entry for this campaign, even though he’s human and wouldn’t have trouble fitting into any group. The point of the character is, that he’s a mercenary at the moment, despite your call for characters driven to leave a legacy. I’m hoping that Bogdan will provide some down-to-earth counterweight in the early campaign for all the overly ambitious characters in the beginning of the campaign, while being able to grow into his own potential through playing.
I’m not ashamed to admit that this character is inspired in part by Han Solo, although he’s not a scoundrel by any means. Instead, I’d like to borrow from his interaction with Leia in Star Wars. Bogdan would fit best if he can be paired with someone whom he’s supposed to protect, despite her (or his) objection. Bonus points if she’s nobility and they collide at first, while possible growing closer as the campaign progresses (maybe even ending up as consort?) Alternatively, in a crew full of big personalities who are just getting to know each other, he could provide the glue in the party, making sure that they get the job done.
Mechanically, Bogdan fills a ranged striker combat role*, with a range of physical skills and some practical party leadership if it’s needed. When it comes to kingdom building the leadership roles I see him fulfilling are Marshal, General or Royal Enforcer. Warden fits thematically, but seems to be a mismatch for Bogdan’s stats. I’d be up for Consort as well, if it develops naturally.
* I'm aware that the Slayer (and especially the Vanguard) has a bit a of bad reputation for being too good/optimized. I don't think that's the case with this character, being focused on crossbow-style and having a balanced approach to stats and skills.
About me
I haven't been on this forum for very long, although I have been roleplaying for quite some years. I've finished a couple of PFS scenario's on PbP here and have recently been lucky enough to be selected into GM Giuseppe's Quest for the Everflame. The experience of an 'actual' campaign with selected characters has been very rewarding, thus far. I've chosen two posts from that campaign to show about my posting style, both out of combat and in combat. (Link1) and (Link2). The rest of the thread should hopefully show my posting frequency and consistency, if you would like to dig into that.

This is Aest's second submission. She's an unchained rogue with the Vexing Dodger archetype for Shadow of the Colossus shenanigans. I'll be going with one level of Swashbuckler with the Mouser archetype and then the prestige class Halfling Opportunist for even more fun!
In terms of story, she's a former arena fighter from Tymon who, after being caught cheating, ran to Restov. See the alias for more details.
Of the two, this is the one I'd want to play more, just because the combats have so much potential to be interesting and unique.
Good luck to all!

Aside from a few equipment purchases, this character is pretty much done. I'll perhaps write up a writing sample, but one is already present on my first application for Lucius Baradain which should give you an idea as to my writing style.
Edit - Wolfspirit, the correct character sheet is linked now.

Well, I can definitely say that you guys aren't going to make choosing the final party easy on me. At this point there have been enough excellent characters submitted already that I could send four groups out into the Stolen Lands! And I know there's a few people that haven't even submitted yet!
(No, I'm not going to send a rag-tag group of level 1s to brave Mammoths. That would be cruel, no matter how funny it would be.)
Anyway, back to reading I go.

I think this character is basically done. I'm a little torn on a few things though, especially his alignment; should he be CG or NG? hmmm...
What do you think Kingmaker Wolfspirit, can a NG wizard cast infernal healing?
How about using planar binding on evil outsiders?
How about using planar binding on evil outsiders and mind controlling them to work for free?
How about using planar binding on evil outsiders and making a deal but then betraying said outsiders? (I'm pretty sure this last one is deserving of chaotic at least)
Just a few things percolating through my brain...

Hello Wolfspirit, I am intending to submit the crunch on my character today (Reknar, posted on the interest thread).
I intend to eventually make him a Battle Herald, but wanted to ask you one thing first - will you accept skills gained through Versatile Performance as filling the pre-requisite for entering the Prestige Class?

Okay, so I finally got around to choosing my background skills. So I now have a rank in Profession (Chef) and Profession (Brewer) as I figured they went well together and means I could create both the food and drink each time.
As I had a spare skill point remaining too, I also put a rank into bluff so that I can tell the truth but leave dangerous bits out easier. (example : a player kills NPC {dave} by mistake and we are questioned about it. "Dave was attacked and we saw the whole thing, it was unexpected.")
