About Mossri Lillibottom

Backstory:
The roar of the crowd filled Mossri’s ears as she clung to her opponent’s shoulders, legs swinging out behind her as the huge half-ogre turned and twisted. She swung, using the big fighter’s momentum to get her legs under her and shoving her rapier into the huge hunch on his back, a spurt of blood rushing out to drench her face. She rode her foe down as he fell, screaming theatrically, and raised her arms in victory as the crowd cheered. As she was borne up on the shoulders of the cheering masses, keeper of the arena planted a ceremonial kiss on her brow, then another, and another…

”Stop. Stop!” Mossri woke up in darkness, the mud squelching up beneath her cloak as she pushed Bumpback’s snout and her questing tongue away from her face with a sleepy shove. She shivered and looked out from beneath her makeshift tent at the rainy spring morning. ”Hells…”

As she packed up in the downpour, she found the time to toss an apple Bumpback’s way, much to the spotted, swaybacked pony’s delight. In her haste to get out of Tymon, she’d purchased the first nag she could find, not wanting to be caught by those who’d bet against her in the arena. Bumpback had, of course, proven to live up to her name; a miserable mount even through the saddle, with a rolling gait and a penchant for seemingly falling asleep on the move. Nonetheless, their journey across the River Kingdoms was almost over.

”Soon…” She grimaced as she climbed into the saddle, sore legs screaming in pain and protest. ”Soon, we’ll be in Restov, and I can sell you and live out my days in anonymous luxury.” She looked back as she nudged Bumpback into a reluctant trot, imagining the down beds she’d slept in before as she turned her back on the patch of mud that had served as last night’s bed.

Mossri Lillibottom was once Lylt the Flying Blade, a gladiator performing in Tymon’s myriad small arenas. Though she lost almost as often as she won, her small stature and penchant for fighting against much-larger opponents, using their arms, legs, and sometimes even the spikes on their armor as ladders and ramps to get the elevation for a killing blow, made her a darling of the crowds, and she was often injured but never outright killed. However, Mossri’s dreamed of winning against Ullorth Ungin, the Champion of Tymon, and began scheming out a way to make it happen. By paying most of her winnings to her opponents in exchange for thrown fights, she intended to bribe her way to the top; from there, it would be just one fair fight to the title, the crown of the city, and the luxury it afforded. Even better, no one (Mossri included) would need to die. Well, except Ungin, but that couldn’t be helped.

Her plan worked well, for a while. She moved up from the small arenas to the Arena of Aroden, and was scheduled to begin her first fight there, but the day before, her opponent began spreading rumors (truthfully, as it turned out) that she was rigging fights. Enraged, many of those who’d gambled on her fights and lost turned out to bring her to justice, and she escaped from the city on the back of a swaybacked old mare, a plain grey cloak taking the place of her bold black-and-red fighter’s cloak.

A few years have passed since Mossri finished her month-long ride across the River Kingdoms and into Brevoy, and she’s started to once again hear things. Rumors of a fighter her size who cheated in the arenas, and a price on her...or her head. She hasn’t dared use her skills for those years for fear she’d be unmasked, but nonetheless, it seems someone knows who she was. A few nights past, she received a letter, addressed to “Flying-Blade Lylt”, from someone claiming to be a Swordlord. Inside was an invitation and a charter; explore the Stolen Lands, hunt down some bandits, and most importantly, be out of sight for a few months or years.

Appearance and Personality:

Eyes: Brown, wide-eyed, Hair: Dark Brown/Black, curly and long, Skin: Pale, with a blush and scars on her face, Height: 2’11”, Weight: 26 lbs, Birthday: 17th of Pharast, Age: 28, Portrait: Mossri without Goggles

Mossri stands waist-high on most humans, with long, thin limbs and a slim body. The only hints of gender when she’s geared up for a fight are her full lips and long, curly hair, which reaches down to mid-back. Her combat gear consists of what she once wore in the arena; white-dyed leather breastplate, a few thin steel plates over the shoulders and elbows, and goggles to help protect her eyes. Underneath that, she wears a simple traveler’s outfit; off-white woolen split-skirts, cotton leggings, and a plain cotton blouse. A battered old cloak, grey and threadbare, offers her some measure of stealth.

Future Plans?:

Top Three Leadership Roles:
Spymaster: The one she'd be best at. She's been a schemer for a long time, and she's got some idea of how criminal circles work, both of which would be good for the job.

Ruler: The one she wants most. Before her fall from grace in Tymon, she had a goal of leading that city, but a new kingdom far from prying eyes would be fun too!

Marshal: The one she'd do. She wouldn't love it, but she'd certainly do it.
