Female Kobold

Sorry, I had to spend $40 and four hours I could've spent sleeping to be told that it'll cost me $2,000-4,000 to start taking Ritalin because I live in America, Land of the Free, nice and safe from those darn Canadian wait times.

What I'm getting at here is that I'm too tired and cranky to get a post up. Tomorrow! :)

I'm going to visit family for a couple days without my PC. I'll follow on my phone, but I won't be doing any substantive posting until Saturday evening probably.

Ummm. That's weird in Gameplay. Test.

Fixed?

Female Kobold

Damn it, did I forget Farrukh was invisible again?

But I didn't give him an extract this time...

Also, why is it Farrukh's always the one who encounters weirdness like this?

RPG Superstar 2010 Top 32, 2011 Top 4

To be fair, I assumed it was another arbitrary message board ban, so it just being a fluke is much nicer.

Every time combat breaks out in this campaign, I keep worrying "Who's going to die this time?"

I wonder if that's a testament more to how difficult the AP is or how much of a killer GM KC is...

Adjusted my spot on the map to include that 5 ft. step.

These dragons are pretty tiny, all things considered.

Female Kobold

They're just li'l babbies.

...now I'm starting to feel sorry for them.

I'm sure they'd have turned out better had their parental figure not been brutally murdered by a wrasslin' Kordite.

Would I be able to use my dispelling bombs to remove the fog cloud?

Liberty's Edge

Male Underpowered Warrior 1

Huh, it looks like we don't actually benefit from Aegis while Farrukh's in the fog cloud.

Correct.

Weirdly, it also cuts out if we're ever in a zone of Silence or something. I think the flavor is supposed to be I'm calling out advice to allies and whatnot to direct them, but I generally only do that IC when I'm using a Counter to protect someone.

Finals Week is upon us and I have four essays to complete on top of work. I'll be taking a one-week break from PbPs. See you all Thursday!

Posting this in all my games: My father passed away a couple days ago. I’m going to be occupied helping my siblings make the usual arrangements and get his estate in order. I apologize for the absence. Please bot me as needed. If this is a game I’m GMing, just hang tight and I’ll catch up with everything when I can.

Sorry to hear that man. My condolences.

Female Kobold

Aw, shoot, I'm sorry, Feral. I hope the arrangements go smoothly.

Female Kobold

I like to imagine Cuetzpalli and Tanith revving up to fight when this monster showed up, really psyched, like, "Oh, thank god, we can finally just kill something without it talking our ears off about social etiquette—" and then it opened its mouth and just started chattering away.

How did dead week go?

Liberty's Edge

As I alluded to, KC is in the midst of finals right now. We can expect a return to our normal pace this month! (But not this week.)

I figured as much, T'is the season for crunch, after all!

I'm alive! I'm alive, and I passed my classes! Sure, I got about 40% of my paid work done, and literally forgot my PbPs existed for a few weeks, and had to get extensions on half the major assignments, and had to write 14k on the last day of the month to catch up in NaNoWriMo, but it was all worth it. I think.

Okay, seriously, I'm going to get a big post up tomorrow. Busy cooking fudge and peanut brittle for Hollyday cards today, but tomorrow I'm getting everything resettled and moving this to the next stage of the scene. Sorry this scene got dragged out—it honestly wasn't supposed to take half so long.

Yowch. I think you might have bitten off more than you should have participating in NaNoWriMo with all the rest of that. I barely write much more than that in a WEEK and I'm getting paid for it.

Liberty's Edge

Male Underpowered Warrior 1

Oh! Are you also working as a freelancer, then?

14k in a day is insane. I feel like if I actually had the discipline to make myself write 1k a day I'd have a book done in no time.

Liberty's Edge

Male Underpowered Warrior 1

I've spent the last four months on a report that clocks in at a low 5k...

That makes me feel slightly better about myself. I busted out my capstone University research project (25 pages, ~5.5k words) in a few days. But I find writing non-fiction much easier than writing fiction. I also had done quite a bit of research before I started writing.

The thing is, I've got a really good streak going, so I really can't bring myself to break it. Next year, I'll try to ease up on the freelancing, maybe. Although I'll be student teaching then, which may be lighter on the homework. Or heavier? Hey, we'll see.

My wordcount actually gets much lower when I'm writing anything "scholarly". Fiction I don't have to worry about sources or professionalism, so I write it pretty fast once I get going. As y'all might have noticed in these games, it's the "getting going" that's the trick. I can write 3k in 75 minutes and yet struggle to write a 200-word post in two days.

Yeah, though things have been slow lately. Been in a "feast or famine" cycle all year, and this is definitely one of the latter times.

I feel you. I feel like a lot of the time I spend more time formatting and researching than actually writing, which is generally what saps my energy to get started in the first place.

Meant to participate in NaNoWriMo this year too but I was in a bad funk most of November.
