Hey guys, seeing as we're looking to step into another word-heavy exchange, I wanted to let you all know a bit ahead of time that I'll be off camping/gaming this weekend. I'll be up in a mountain cabin running an ongoing D&D campaign that started back when 3.0 was the newest version of the rules aaaaand it's basically the best weekend of the year.

If we're not through the checkpoint by the time I leave (Thursday afternoon) or Del's charming way with words is needed before I get back (sometime Monday), any one of you please feel free to step in and co-pilot Del for me. Just say some flowery things, have him smile like a doof, and bribe the dicebot to roll big on any bluff or diplomacy checks you make by proxy. =)

J I have a question about the feat spell mastery.
I can choose 5 spells that I can learn without my spell book, do I have to choose all 5 together or can I choose say 4 and add another one later as I learn more spells?

Sorry Elleros, it's the 'already know' clause that limits the feat. It is still an excellent feat though.

Fair enough , can I delay taking the feat.
As in, we've levelled up but I haven't fully levelled up. So I won't get the benefit of it Yet.

No you can't sorry Elleros. That's all part of it. Basically you either take the feat now or at level 7

Fair enough. I'll add endure elements to the feat instead of knock.
So spells I've added to this feat are, magic missile, dispel magic, scorching Ray,mirror image and endure elements.

I do want to take it now at level 5.
I intended to learn knock before taking this feat but haven't had a chance to get a scroll of it before we rested. So I will choose endure elements instead, prob more useful given where we are.

Have managed to resurrect a graveyard machine, have lost an inch of screen but this one has glowy keys ^.^


The glowy keys and fact it is lightweight are the only things I like about the Mac I use in work

Yep. Phone for me too. I find it ok just a pain if you want to reference any text like checking rules or spells. But I don't have to worry about spells. I got a big axe!

When we work out our gold total I think we need to get the following:

Flame arrow scroll for dell
Protection against energy scrolls for us all
Tangle burn bags for Greyston
Alchemist fire
A way to make Nas, sapphire and especially Corums weapons flaming. (I'm not sure how to do this, there is an inquisitor spell but I can't see another spell that does this. Is there an oil or something? )
Possibly a wand of scorching Ray
Some way to heal - likely potions

And anything else anyone else wants or can think of :)

How about +1 bardiche, bull's strength and Enlarged Corum. That's one back up plan. Stuffed if the dragon flies though. Unless I grapple it...

Sapphire can enhance her weapon to make it flaming, and also flies. I think we should grab a scroll or two of fly for Nasrin and Corum in case the dragon takes to the skies. I can't think of a good way to keep it grounded given the spells we have access to :/

we have a *ton* of potions and scrolls under the Party Loot link in my profile that we've never sold, so we can use those without needing to buy more, take a look and shout out if anyone wants to grab any of them.

I make it about 15 potions of clw. I'll take 4 if no one objects. Also a potion of enlarge person and one of resist cold.

Resist cold, with my class ability will give me 15 cold resistance for 10 mins. Nice!

We also have Cold Res pots in the loot; so I will keep that in mind when I reselect my spells. However, there is relatively little I can do to *affect* the dragon. :/ Maybe Barkskin to mitigate the trolls damage :)


It seems like there are a couple of decisions to make regarding shopping/prep before we move on.

The next section will be approaching the clock tower so best to get all this stuff out of the way before you get there rather than saying "Ah well I intended to by such-and-such" or me saying "XYZ isn't available" when you're faced with a troll.

I will move on to the street approaching the clocktower in round about 24 hours time. I'd like everything to be sewn up by then if possible, unless you tell me to move on earlier than that

It occurred to me while updating Del's profile with his new cloak and items that I seem to have calculated my hp's differently than others amongst the group.

I've been doing Del's hp as just equal to 1/2 his hit die while others look to be doing 1/2 hit die +1.

Have I been shorting myself of precious, precious hps this whole time, JZ?! Should I have been getting 6 per level instead of 5?!


Yeah half +1. As d10 you should be getting 6 hp per level

Elleross, aside from the party loot split detailed above, we've kept approx 950 gp for 'sundries' (bribes, celebratory rounds of drink etc ;)
