Two gods backing us up? I think we will do just fine here. "I was told fungus was an issue down here. Is this the sort of thing you meant? Smells like a dying mushroom on a misty fall morning," Poshment remarks as he pulls a kerchief from his breast pocket to cover his mouth and nose. Now slightly muffled, he continues, "Let's carry on then."

Vivianne follows after, keeping her free hand on the hilt of her sword as she goes. Sniffing the air on occasion, she grimaces slightly and covers her mouth with a hand. "Reminds me of an old abandoned barn from back home, except it smells even stuffier. I'm not sure of what's where, so I'll leave it to those who know this place."


There appears to be a plant within the moss that is moving

A reminder to Daniel, please let me know if we were successful in retrieving Gerrol's corpse or if we were all horribly killed by that mold - we had left it a few days ago because we didn't know how clear it. Don't forget we need markers for the map for Poshment and Vivianne.

As usual, your beady-eyed companion appraises the room carefully.

Perception take 10 - for 21. Please remind me - is this the same mold that killed Gerrol? If so, would fire work on cleansing it?

Zimdoz nods at Vivianne and Poshment "Yep, there are two major hazards: weird monsters -including fungus things - and robots. Also, we were almost killed by an electrified floor. Also, that mossy plant is moving so be ready for something horrible."

Vivianne just stares at the strange plant moving towards them, looking over at the rest of the party with an expression of 'what in the Hell is that?'. Shaking her head, she just draws her sword and watches the thing as it gets closer.

"No need to say more!" Poshment says as he takes a step back to make sure his stronger companions have clear access to the plant. Just in case, he raises his shield too. I'll have to look into getting a wand with an every day spell in it...

Seeing that the plant is hostile, Grezzag goes up to the strange and slashes at it with a double handed strike.

Keeping his shield in the direction of the plant, Poshment works up the courage to enter the room. Oh... It's just that little thing? Relaxing just a hair, he steps out of the way of the door. "Now that's a swing Grezzag! Vivianne, why don't you give it the business as well?!"

Vivanne rolls her eyes and moves forward more cautiously, taking up a position by Grezzag's side as she eyes the creature. Bringing her sword arm back, she brings it across diagonally towards the plants stem. "If I knew I was going to be fighting plants, I would have brought a scythe."

Between Vivianne and Grezzag's attacks the plant is torn to shreds. Looking around you see four bodies in advanced stages of decay and fungal infestation.

Grezzag carefully picks through the bodies. "Looks like an unlucky group of explorers. Maybe from the same church. You recognise the symbol?" He shows the holy symbols to the more religiously minded members. "Some other useful stuff as well. But what's all this plant stuff? How long've they been here?"

I have normal chain mail so MW is an upgrade, but someone else should take it if they can.

Sorry, the weekend got unexpectedly busy on me

Alldur appears stunned initially at the plant creature creeping towards him. Seeing his companions cut the thing down quickly, he shakes it off and carefully studies both the mold and the creature.

Zimdoz blinks as the creature falls, "These poor people... should we try burning away the rest of this mold? I don't know if we can destroy this too by burning, but I think so." Zimdoz peeks into the adjoining rooms (C6a-d) and checks them to see if there's anything else of note or value, but not before using his extract of heightened awareness.

Use heightened awareness, then take 10 to look in rooms, Perception 22


Alldur, you think the mould on the bodies is just standard mould, it appears to be part of the flooring. The plant was a weedwhip, a type of carnivorous plant.

Zimdoz, the other side rooms from this room appear empty, apart from more of the mould

"From prior experience, I'd suggest we get to burning when we don't feel like breathing the air in here anymore. Perhaps on our way out?" Poshment offers. He takes a moment to say a soft prayer for the deceased clergymen May your lives have been taken for a worthy cause.

Looking over the silvery masks, the Gnome shrugs. "I can't say who these symbols are for. Haven't spent much time around these parts, though I aim to! Before we get going again, Grezzag, I've got something for you," he explains.

He pulls a shiny platinum ring out of his pocket and takes a knee in front of the Half-Orc, likely only coming up to his knee now. "Grezzag, my mighty warrior and slayer of things, will you marry- HAHA! Ok, I can't take it anymore," he says, dusting his clothes of any dirt they might have accumulated. "Put this on though, I'm going to cast a spell that'll make things hurt you less," he explains.

Vivianne sighs, wiping her sword clean on her pants leg before returning it to its place at her hip. Glancing at Zimzdoz, she gives a shrug before turning and giving Grezzag a sheepish smile. "I can't say I know them either... Most of my training was hands on, I only learned to read so I could read the holy word." Stifling a laugh at Poshment's antics, she looked around the room and settled in to wait for their next move, leaning on her flag's pole.

'Never cared much to study religeon' Alldur casts a quick spell and begins to scan the room. 'The mold is relatively harmless, but yes, we should be wary if breathing gets harder.'

Grezzag puts the symbols in his pack. "Well, someone in town'll probably know, 'specially if they made themselves known before coming down."

His eyebrows raise at Poshment's proposal, and looks slightly relieved when it's not. "Heh, thought you'd gone a bit mad from breathing in some of these plants." he grinned. He slides the ring onto a finger adding, "Or you're rushin' into things too fast. Gotta find out the bad stuff about someone before getting stuck with 'em for life."

"Well, if I've got this ring, anyone want this other one?" He proffers the ring obtained from the explorers. "Don't worry, I'm not rushing into any commitments either."

Glancing at Grezzag, Vivianne looked at the ring for a moment before shrugging, taking it and examining it. Sliding it onto a finger, she wiggles it and looks at it from a couple directions. "I'm assuming it's magical, otherwise I'd be wondering why you're giving up some jewelry. What does it do?"

"You're not my type anyways!" Poshment playfully retorts before turning to the matters at hand. "How shall we proceed? Really, as long as we get the job done, I'm willing to follow the group on this without question."

Why not C8?

Zimdoz pulls out a vial from his bandolier with a twist-off cap, unscrews it and quaffs it quickly. He seems to move faster and speak more quickly. He also drinks from another vial, concentrates briefly, and you notice that his fur seems to take on an oily sheen.

”Well, well, I’m ready to scout now, yes. Do not be troubled by appearance. I experimented with toxicology recently and found a way to synthesize a debilitating toxin from some samples I found recently. It doesn’t cause long term effects but it does punish creatures that attack me. So I have been scouting for us for a while - we found that if you all don’t stay back, there’s a decent chance that you’ll be hurt. The things here are extremely complex and I only understand half of it. Alldur knows about the other half. I like to think that I’m the engineer and he’s the scientist. Anyway, just don’t bunch up behind me, I’ll be safe... mostly.” Zimdoz grins a rattish smile at the party.

Zimdoz activates his mutagen, ant haul, and his toxicant poison. Zimdoz searches the nearest door to C8 for traps, take 10 for 21.


Zimdoz, you do not find any traps. This room reeks of stagnant water and decaying vegetation. A long trough of water runs along the walls of this room; a layer of brown scum and algae grows on the water's surface and on the walls. A single workstation sits in the middle of the room connected to a large machine made of tubes and bubbling tanks of water. Standing in the room is a small green creature wielding a hammer

Grezzag changes into the well-made armor. "Hope it does me better than it did you." he remarks to the body he took it off.

He waits, watches and listens as Zimdoz scouts, ready to charge forward if needed.

He wants to go alone, head first into the danger? I commend his bravery, certainly, but by Milani I hope he knows what he is doing! "As you wish, I shall remain right in this spot. But, do make some noise if you need us to come after you," Poshment responds, clearly content to hang around a little while someone else checks for danger.

While he waits, Poshment takes a seat in one of the chairs by the table and inspects his clothes, beginning with his hat and working his way down to his shoes. I've scarcely been out and everything is so filthy already! I'll have to work in some laundry time when we get back. Does a revolutionary no good to be a dirty mess when trying to raise support for the pending revolt!

”Hello, I am Zimdoz. My companions and I are travelers. We are just examining these ruins to see if we can fix the Torch that is broken in the town above. Who are you?”


I am Vrilledt. I know nothing of the Torch. Take me and my fellows to the caves and I will give you this weapon (indicating his hammer)

Zimdoz motions for the others to come over, "His name is Vrilledt, and he'd like an escort to the caves, I'm not sure which. I'll ask."

"Oh, which caves are those? We can escort you somewhere if you'd like."

Do you mean the big cave where we fought the four-armed undead?


The caves where the skulks live, there is a small passage to the Underdark there. In the Underdark we can make a home.

Vivianne gives the little green creature a curious look, crouching down a bit while still holding her flag to get a closer look. "I wouldn't be adverse to helping him. Little fellow's kind of cute in an... odd way. Does he know anything about what's going on in here though?"
