I have rebuilt the ability scores to reflect a 30 point buy. At level 1, Dex and Con were both increased by 1 to get them to 16's with the variant human trait, and a feat was taken. At level 4, +2 was added to Dex, bringing it to 18. There were no ability adjustments at level 6 because a second feat was taken instead.

Oh, right, I forgot to mention, you 3 vaguely know each other. Since Marcus mentioned something about 2 strangers in his character. You might not know their names, but your allies are some of the last people you saw before 10.3 years went by.
Anyway, I have D&D this afternoon, and I left my PHB there, so I'll recover it while there. and tell you what your equipment it is

Yep, underestimated cr 1 creatures. Anyway, that was the only room that had more than 4 monsters at one time. Most of the other encounters are actually underpowered, ie, you'd fight like 2 cr 2s in a room. Most of these encounters were meant to wear down your resources not kill you. I also have to remember, difficulty can also depend upon what classes there are that the party has. An evocation wizard for example could cast fireball around all his allies and deal 8d6 dmg to all creatures in the area, and the average dmg would kill them. Other spell casters could cast burning hands or thunderwave in a direction can kill off a wave in an average of 2 rounds, assuming you use level 1 spells. An eldritch knight fighter could take out a wave in 2 rounds, doing slightly better than burning hands dmg. I'm not saying change your fighter Marcus. I also had this prewritten for 5 people, thus I never got onto adjusting things for a party of 3, but still overpowered.
This fight is going to be painful, so I'll have that hobgoblin intervene and end the fight so we can get on with the game. I just have to think about how the interlog that takes place so you can move onto other rooms, so it will take me a few hours.
Then I'll check the rest of the fights using that website.

Okay, with some minor adjustments, most encounters don't go past medium, exception being do not enter signs. One of the do not enter doors is dooable, it is slightly above hard, but not to the deadly area. Luckily though you get to see what is behind the door, as combat does not start until you enter a room, not when you open a door, and then the door closes on you, so be sure you want to fight it before going in. Go ahead, try attacking the creatures from a distance outside the door, oh by the way, the door closes in on the arrow, for anyone thinking about a loophole. The other creatures are in here, just have every construct in the toystore to make it complete, except for like 1 golem, but you find it later in the story. If your heart desires to fight the deadly encounters, by all means I'm not going to stop you, but keep in mind in this game, you can also revisit areas as you wish, so wait till you are stronger. Also keep in mind in-game time, from your new location, it might take 6 hours to reach the toy store.

Y'know I might be more effective now that I actually took a look at my freekin' spell list. ^_^
Hey, is casting in melee an AoO still? Moving through is, but I can't see it addressed in spellcasting.

Level 7 seems to be pretty boring for clerics. All we really get is one 4th level spell, and all of them are pretty freekin' l4m3XorZ. At least, none of them seem better than a 4th level Cure.

Guys, I am going to drop out of this one. It has nothing to do with all of you as players and GM. It is just that the story line is not what I expected. That is probably my fault for not seeing it for what it was. You all have done an excellent job. Good luck moving forward.

There is actually more twists to it, the game is just moving slowly. There are still some things about your character you don't know, or misinformation. Yes you were away from home for 10.3 years, or were you? There are still more twists up my sleeve. You sure you don't want to stay to find out the twists?

Game closed and here are some things to explain below.
Well considering I only recruited three to begin with, recruiting another would be hard, so this game lasted, but I'm going to have to cancel. When I saw the idea, I'd thought I'd take it over.
The idea of adventurers not knowing who they were, for whatever reasons. Some DMs could run a storyline well with that, others cannot. There have been other versions of a storyline like this run successfully.
this If you read through this, it does show how some DMs did it successfully, but it is tricky to pull off.
Anyway, here is the rest of the twists/plot. The game will look like you had lives for the past 10.3 years, because you were cloned. Your clones were evil, so as you enter some cities that are friendly, they will attack you on sight or jail you. And Marcus's dad was cloned. Marcus was an evil war hero along with his dad, Aelar lived multiple lives, he worked for the black market in secret and was a famous author, thus he wouldn't be attacked on sight, but he would have had strange job requests. Bannock was involved in dark necromancy spells and lead an army of undead siege attack, also had advanced command spells, to make even healthy living warriors do his dirty work. Your clones got there before you all did, because another faster rocket ship was built while the one you were all on traveled in space. It took 10.3 years to get you all back to there planet, while on your planet, it took 1 year to build a faster rocket ship, by a hobgoblin that stayed on your planet, while your clones did their dirty work. This rocket ship was built in secret, so only that goblin and your clones knew it had been built. It then took 6.3 years to get that ship to the planet, so your clones beat you to this planet by 3 years. Fey and monstrosities worked with demons and devils. Monstrosities were created by them. Fey were always around. There were also an underground group of people, this mimics the second movie of planet of the apes. This group has been underground for several years since the last war, thus the forbidden zone. They have no idea about the Demons and Devils, but they are at war with the goblins and giants. And yes, just like in the movie, they do look human, but they eventually take off their masks, and to mimic the mind reading abilities, they are actually mind flayers. They do however, know about evil Fey as evil Fey have been around for centuries, though they were never a huge threat to any one group, but something to watch out for. The object would be to get back to your home planet, and of course, you would be attacked by people you knew and would have to prove your innocence, or it would be eventually proven through science, thus DNA does exist and clones only have a 98% match to you, so they would know something is wrong, but they wouldn't know what.
I say if you can all find another DM to do this, it could be successful, the problem is finding a DM who wants to run with the idea.
