Aelar chuckles at the casual mention of danger. "I'm sorry that was rude of me, My name is Aelar pleasure to meet you. If you would happen to have some mead it would be much appreciated."

Aelar heads towards the table after relaxing for a bit."Excuse me are you the individuals who need help?"

DungeonMaster

Aelar, which group do you approach? they all have different quests for you. You may talk to them all if you wish, but which group do you approach first?

Moon elf Rouge (assassin) 6 l Passive Perception 10 l Init +3 l AC 15 l HP: 27/33 l Saves: Dex +6, Int +6.

And I'm talking to the humans.

DungeonMaster

When Bannock talks to the humans. Well, our house is full of rats. We would call an exterminator, but they are busy. Would you clear out the basement and attic for us? Oh, yeah and our backyard which is fence in has a crocodile in it, don't know how he got in there, but we would be honored if you do this for us.

When Aelar talks to the elves. Have a seat. You heard of fiends roaming around haven't you? Well, they are roaming around with some fey and other creatures, taking over the cold city of Helen and the mountains, approximately three miles from here and yes it is cold there, because of the altitude change and magical factors involved, even though this town is just above cold, about 40 degrees here, but it almost never reaches above 20 degrees there. Yes, this mimics part but not all of book 1 one reign of winter with many changes, you will only being doing about 1/3 to 1/2 the book.

Marcus sips his drink and listens to the please for help, both mundane and supernatural. When his friends return to the table.

Well, where are we headed? I assume someone needs us nearby?

Bannock excuses himself and huddles with Marcus and Aelar. "The humans here have a straight-forward job for us; the clearing out of rats from a basement. Not epic, to be sure, but maybe it will lets us gather either more coin or more gear, then we can move up to loftier climes. What say you?"

Bannock returns to the table of humans, wetting his whistle with a quick drink. "Well, my companions are intrigued by your offer, but they will need a reward to inspire them. What are you paying for the extermination of these pests?"

For lack of opposition, Bannock finishes his meal and drowns the last of his pitcher. "Tallly ho, then! Good sirs," he says to the humans, "Lead us on to thy horrid basement! And make ready your payments, whatever they may be!"

It looks like the Paizo's servers are better now. Let's go kill some rats to get our momentum back. =)

I concur!

Should be fun. Let's have at it, then.

DungeonMaster

As you get to the house, You realize the kitchen is a mess, which is the first room you walk into. Connected to the kitchen is the gameroom, and the bathroom. Pots and pans everywhere, the food lying on the floor, dishes not done, enough of a mess that it practically invites rats.

Why haven't you told us how much they are paying us to do this?

"Well, lads, in truth I was expecting rats of the larger sort, perhaps even dire. It looks like they just need to enroll the services of cleaning crew. Well, they're paying us to see to their basement and attic, so let's at least at least poke our heads in there."

Bannock leads the party downstairs.

Marcus follows quickly on his heels, drawing his sword as he goes.

Moon elf Rouge (assassin) 6 l Passive Perception 10 l Init +3 l AC 15 l HP: 27/33 l Saves: Dex +6, Int +6.

Oh s@@# I'm so sorry, My campaign tab didn't tell me anything about the updates.

"Good Idea Bannock I'm in no rush to go outside dressed like this."

"What a mess" Aelar says upon seeing everything. "How did it ever get this bad?"

Aelar shakes it off before following Bannock downstairs.

DungeonMaster

As you rush through the game room, you ignore more messes that are there. There is also a wasps nest in the game room, and these wasps decided to blend in as part of gaming decorations. You head down to the basement. It is cold in here, but with about 40 degrees fahrenheit you can all manage well. In the basement you see dusty bottles of wine on racks. There is a cat cowering in the corner as about 500 rats, 5 swarms taunt him. There is also a rat hole 15 feet from that corner.

Human Male Fighter Duelist (Soldier)/3; AC: 19 (20 MaA); HP: 24/28; passive perception 12; Init +3; Saves: Str +2, Con +4; HD 3/3, 0/1 2nd Wind, 0/1 Act Surge, 4/4 Sup Dice

Marcus backs up a bit.

Ok, guys, I am not going to be much help against these swarms of rats. Does anyone have something that can kill many of them at once?

"No. No I do not. Indeed, I do not think any force or power I have access to would be of any help here. Aelar, are you in agreement?" Bannock also backs up, ready to leave as fast as he can unless the thief objects.

"Had we an arcane caster with us, this would be simple. As we do not, it's a bit out of the question. Let's return to the bar, give the humans the bad news, and see what the elves want!"

Boys and girls, this is why a good breakfast and a balanced party is important. =)

DungeonMaster

Couldn't take care of the problem, it was only a few swarms of rats and you call yourselves adventures. Also, did you clean up our mess? we can't clean it up ourselves, because the mess is enchanted requires dc 15 will saves, you may also find some useful stuff among the mess. Not to mention our backyard with the crocodile in it, with useful stuff in there if you can clear that out. And the attic full of bats, I swear someone cursed our house.

Just then you see an advertisement for terminator supplies on the wall. Burrow our supplies for 500 gold and keep them for up to 4 hours per payment. Comes with a fully loaded flamethrower, a shrink ray to allow you become the size of a rat, protective gear that makes you resistant to disease and you resist damage from bats and rats. And a wand of magic missiles. Warning, Wand of MM has 7 charges, if you spend all 7 charges, there is a 5% chance it will explode on you, if the wand gets destroyed, you will owe us 25,000 gold for a replacement. One charge does 3 magic missiles, 2 charges does 4, 3 charges does 5, etc. Normally a wand takes 24 hours to recharge, but with our advanced technology, it will take 4 hours once your return it to us. (Warning, we do have built in tracking devices on all of our stuff, and if our stuff goes missing for more than 24 hours, we track you down, so don't think about stealing the supplies.)

Bannock almost snaps his neck as soon as he sees the advertisement out of the corner of his eye. 'Flamethrower, hm?' He didn't know what the hell that was, but somehow he knew he'd pay all of the moneies for a chance to use one. He goes over to examine the poster, then comes back to the humans, his eyes red with rage, FINE! WE'LL CLEAN UP YOUR MESS BUT YOU AIN'T SAID ONE WORD ABOUT PAYMENT SE WE GONNA KEEP ANYTHING WE CLEAN!"

He turns to his companions. "C'mon guys."

As they get out of earshot he mumbles, "Um, the wand we probably won't even use, but do we have 500 gold to rent the flamethrower?"
