There was a time when I wanted everything resolved instantly when I was writing. It made me a horrible writer. Since I've been married I have become enlightened to the wonders of the prolonged tease. I have since become slightly better at writing. By the way, my wife lurks on this thread, but doesn't have her own account. She says hello, and appreciates the antics in the discussion as much as the story.
Moving is rough. I like to help people move, but I don't think my minivan would make it to Australia. So I'll have to settle for well-wishing.

Two of the PCs today have purchased the vanity from a certain scenario that allowed them to become Blakroses. Kiyomi Blakros, kitsune rogue, and Lilith Blakros, human cleric of Lamashtu, will be having such fun. To be fair, I think Lilith will just spend most of her time tormenting Nigel Aldain, and Kiyomi will be wishing she was somewhere else.
I actually promised to run this for Denzil (our VC) after he got that boon, and he's been waiting months. So this Monday gone, at our Dragon's Demand game, he goes "So, Sunday is Valentine's Day. Ronnie, do you think Saturday is a good day for a certain red wedding?"

I used to be like that, until I realized pretty much any time I have to help friends move, theyve decided to live about as high up the building as possible. Climbing stairs all day with heavy furniture when you are my size is a chore.

Running into taller people who are noticably taller than myself really screws with me. Im just so used to either looking straight ahead or looking down when talking to people, having to look up feels weird.

I used to exclusively date really short girls too. Other than the first one that was 5'6, they were all 5'3 and shorter. After a particularly bad break up, dad sidles up to me and says the only relationship advice I ever received from him directly. "Why don't you ever date a tall girl?" So I did. Now I have a Ms. Oterisk who's nearly 5'11" and I've never been happier.
I'm not saying that all short girls are bad, I just have trouble picking good ones because I'm tall and nearsighted. Once I found one within a decent visual range I was able to see that she was good before I asked her out.

Zoh, spider-killing is a man's job. However, in my household, I'm the default spider-killer, not because I'm a particularly manly woman, but because I tend to wear boots more often than not. If they're not on my feet, they're right by my bedroom door. Doc Martens are good spider-smashers!
Freekin spiders man. On my list of freakouts, that one time I woke in my bed on a saturday and just lay there with squinty eyes ranks pretty high. Why? Because out of my peripheral vision on the wall my head rest against, I see this blurry black spot which I somehow thought moved. So I squint a little more, focus my eyes, and less than a foot from my face, the fattest, hairiest spider ive ever seen is perched. Ive never gotten out of bed so fast.
Skinny spiders are total bros, but the fat hairy ones? Ugh!
Spiders, meh. I like them. I escort them outside, unharmed.

I have very few things on my list of freakouts. Elevators. I hate them. Use the stairs unless I have to go very high indeed, and then I practice deep breathing to calm myself down. I've been known to walk up 20 flights of stairs to get to the gaming room of a convention.
God, the "to" spider had me waiting for it to leap at the camera for some reason.
I don't really get scared of anything. But I am pretty squeamish when it comes my own blood. Well, the wifey's blood too. I nearly passed out when they couldn't find a vein when they were giving her an IV during one of her deliveries. I also did pass out when they pulled the fluid out of my elbow.
I liked the ones that were eating birds and reptiles the best.
I have a spider story, too. It's not from the exact place I live, though. It's from South Carolina or Florida or something. There was this house on a golf course that had been foreclosed on and not resold for a long time. Eventually, the price was low enough (foreclosures are super cheap) that someone just bought it without even looking at it. So, they show up for inspection. 5,000+ brown recluse spiders.
I don't remember how it resolved, but I remember being a bit freaked out for a couple of days.

If it makes you feel any better, she also drives a powder blue Hyundai i30 with eyelashes, wears shoes with bows on them, and drinks chai lattes. I love my mum, and I'm never embarrassed by her, but she does my head in sometimes.

My mum gets me on a level very few people do. You can't half-tell I'm her daughter when she ribs me over the way I organize my CD collection (alphabetically by artist, then chronologically) and I turn around and give her s@&~ for having her shoes sorted by height and colour. (And then pinch a pair, because she's been collecting Hot Chocolate Designs, and they are so cute*)
