I'm aware of the Paladin of freedom, I may look at the differences and update it provided the differences aren't just based in flavor. Then again with it being Gestalt I don't worry much about it.

How would you feel about one-half of the gestalt being an unfettered Eidelon (basically, a Summoner on one half, but without the summoner and his spells). I created Shi here for a game and he was fun to play (Hi Lord Manticore, glad to see you back!). He would fit rather well into WotR, given his back ground...

Silver Crusade

The half-elf favored class bonus means

half elves get two favored classes if they make each side of the gestalt a favored class then do they get double favored class bonuses every level?

I am currently looking at Paladin/Warlord (path of war)

have not planned out beyond level 2 or 3 really I would rather let the game dictate my character's direction.

For an Ustalav-ish campaign with this character? Depends on the rules, really. XD That could be a fun alternate, and I do enjoy Mythos things. Do we have any build rules, or should I just stay on the lookout for a recruitment thread?

(Also, how many players do you plan to look for in that game? As a PbP GM myself, I've usually found 3-4 players to work best - any more than that and things often slow down too much.)

I disagree, I usually suggest recruiting 5 or 6. Primarily because you need 4 or 5 to keep the game going, and usually you lose one or two shortly after the game starts. Slightly over-recruiting prevents having to re-recruit a little way in.

Perhaps I should have specified "3-4 active players" - there is indeed a certain value in recruiting one more just in the expectation that someone drops. XD

Half-Elf Favored Class Bonuses DO apply in this case, given their Multitalented ability's wording.

As for the Mythos campaign, it would be 4 players.

Shi'vatha, you may submit that character for perusal, once you get him updated to the proper guidelines, of course.

Yes, making the character, create new core in the pathfinder society section?

The Indestructible, what do you mean?

I'm trying to figure out how you set everything up, like how to set the stats at the top of the page on the character, etc, is it in the create new pathfinder society character under register core character? Or is that specifically for pathfinder society.

Silver Crusade

As far as tech goes, I wasn't that interested in that aspect of things. But good to know still, thank you! I had a whim on the concept and decided to run with it, I kind of like what came out. Here's a link to the alias. I'm not sold on the picture (I'm reusing an alias that I never did anything with) so will probably change that out.

Here's what I have so far.

Mostly done at this point. I need a second trait still, couple background things fleshed out, and to double check the mechanics for accuracy. But hopefully enough to judge on.

Make an Alias for your account, then edit it. The various forms on the side, for character info, can also be used to add stuff to the stat bar.

Thank you, I have found it, and after running into problems I'm changing it to a gestalt Drunken Master Monk Brew Master. Much more synergy

*eye twitches* I just spent the last three hours building my character. Only for me to press save, it to tell me I tried to go back to far, and now I have nothing. The entire character, gone.

Yeah, there's a limit on what this board remembers. It's best to build in a word processor, and/or copy the character before you post, just in case you need to paste it in again.

There are also some plugins for Chrome and Firefox that will save form data so that you can retrieve it again if things go awry. Helps with game posts in threads.

Another option is to use a form fillable PDF character sheet, upload it to google drive, and drop a link in the thread.

I usually do that personally, as the form fill sheet keeps the cascading math for me. :)

To our prospective GM: I know you said all official Paizo classes and archetypes are OK, but I wanted to double-check about characters using primal (formerly known as wild :) ) magic, because that's asking a bit more of a GM when magic goes weird, and I wouldn't want to get too far into fleshing out the character. I'm thinking, tentatively, of a Primalist wizard / Spellscar-mystery Oracle cross, for the power of ALL THE CHAOS! (Cackles madly.)

Could you recommend a good one. None of the ones I've tried saved data.

Badass Bandana Studios is the one I use. Unfortunately, he's no longer updating it, but it works.

Lord Manticore, considering that I will be using Mythic versions of the demons in the campaign, due to loving their signature abilities, I would hardly find it fair denying Mythic options from the same publisher. The options are awesome anyway. Consider the Mythic options from Legendary Games available for your use!

As for Skill Unlocks and Scale-able Items, are they on the SRD? I do not have Pathfinder Unchained, unfortunately. :/

@Glory: Unfortunately, while skill unlocks are mentioned in the Unchained Rogue entry on the site, the owner has not gotten around to adding either the skill unlocks or the scalable items to his database. :( Personally, I think that the skill unlocks adds at least some additional benefits to each skill, but if you don't have access to it, I completely understand, and won't force the issue further. Also, I've created the character that I am submitting, although I have not yet written up a back story. I'll post here under the avatar name of Grimli.

@Shi'Vatha: Hey dude, long time no see. :) I'm not sure if I'm going to run another PbP anytime soon, but I still have you on my short list.

@Glory: I can personally vouch for Shi'Vatha's character. He ran it in my Slumbering Tsar PbP campaign last year, and while the campaign petered out from lack of characters (and RL issues on my end), his 'unique' character was very good and he does role-play his part very well. IF it came down to choosing between him and me for a spot, I'd choose him without reservation. Just my 2cp.

I bless you in the name of Cayden Cailean, may your tankard be ever full.

Good to hear (the short list part). And while I like the compliment in the second part, part of why I applied was I saw you in the list. :) Would like to play with you.

You are more than welcome. :)

@Glory - How are you handling multiclassing while gestalting? I've seen some GM's forbid it outright, some restrict it (You can multiclass one of your classes, but not the other) and some who didn't care one way or the other.

Good day everyone!

I just wanted to put my 2cp into the ring and see what happens! My stats are linked to my profile at this point, the backstory will come down the road a spell.

Does anyone need a good band-aid, perchance? o_O

So, if we can get in the group together, does this mean that I can ride your back? You run, and I'll bring the boom!!

Thanks for the compliment, Shi. I would be quite happy to play with you, in this campaign or any other. You're just that good.

LOL, thanks. :) As to the riding, not for a bit at least. That's a pool point to be ridable, and they are in short supply at low level. Plus I think he'd need to be Medium sized to be ridable by a gnome.

Fair point. You might only a head or two taller than me at this point. Not to worry, enlarge per..plant grow...grow thing can do the job just fine. *Looking around "Has anyone got a scroll of eidolon growth?"

Child of the Crusade: His mother was a member of the crusade, as were her parents before her. The righteousness of the crusades sometimes feels as if it runs in his very blood, and it bolsters him against demonic influence. His mother died last year, but he grew up knowing her, though, and her zeal and devotion to the crusade is the primary reason he feel the same way. She told him of other family members who have also been involved in the crusade, and it would not be uncommon for him to meet a distant cousin or long-lost aunt, uncle, or other family member while traveling among the border towns of Mendev. This strong family tie bolsters his mind and sense of belonging to the crusade. Once per day when he fails a saving throw against an effect created by a demon that would possess or incapacitate him mentally, he may immediately reroll that saving throw as a free action. He must take the second result, even if it is worse. Associated Mythic Path: Marshal.
Unscathed: Add 2 to all racial energy resistances
Armor Expert: Reduce the armor check penalty for any armor worn by 1.

Overprotective: If one of your allies should fall unconscious from hit point damage, you take a –2 penalty on attack rolls and skill checks as long as you are farther than 10 feet away from your fallen ally.

Soul Seer: Deathwatch at will; r: 30' cone, d: 10 min/lvl; know if creatures in range are dead, fragile (less than 3hp), fighting off death (4+ hp), healthy, undead, or neither alive nor dead.

SQ:

Aura of Good: has an aura of good equal to his level
Bardic Knowledge: He adds ½ level to all Knowledge checks and may make such check untrained
Bardic Performance: 7 rnds/day; begin as standard action, maintained as free action
Countersong (Su): He can counter magic effects that depend on sound. Each round of countersong, he makes a Perform (Keyboard, Percussion, Wind, String, or Sing) check. Any creature within 30ft that is affected by a sonic or language- dependent magical attack may use his Perform check in place of its saving throw if, after it is rolled, the Perform check is higher. If a creature within range of the countersong is already under the effect of a non-instantaneous sonic or language-dependent magical attack, it gains another save against the effect each round it hears the countersong, but it must use his Perform check. Does not work against effects that don’t allow saves. (Audible components)
Distraction (Su): He can use his performance to counter magic effects that depend on sight. Each round of the Distraction, he makes a Perform (Act, Comedy, Dance, or Oratory) check. Any creature within 30ft that is affected by an illusion (pattern) or (figment) magical attack may use his Perform check result in place of its save if, after the save is rolled, the Perform check is higher. If a creature within range if the Distraction is already under the effect of a non-instantaneous illusion (pattern) or (figment) magical attack, it gains another save against the effects each round it sees the Distraction, but it must use his Perform check. Does not work against effects that don’t allow saves. (Visual components)
Fascinate (Su): He can use his performance to cause one or more creatures to become fascinated with him. Each creature to be Fascinated must be within 90ft, able to see and hear him, and capable of paying attention to him. He must also be able to see the creatures affected. The distraction of a nearby combat or other dangers prevents the ability from working. For every 3 levels after 1st, he can target 1 additional creature. Each creature within range makes a Will (DC 13) (10+1/2 level +Cha) to negate. If the save succeeds, the creature cannot be affected for 24 hours. If it fails, the creature sits quietly and observes the performance for as long as he continues to maintain it. While Fascinated, a target takes a -4 penalty on skill checks made as reactions, such as Perception. Any potential threat to the target allows the target to make a new save. Any obvious threat, such as someone drawing a weapon, casting a spell, or aiming a weapon at the target, automatically breaks the effect. This is an enchantment(compulsion) mind-affecting ability. (Audible/Visual components)
Naturalist (Ex): if he has identified a creature with a knowledge check, he can use performance to share strategies for defeating it with allies in combat. He and any allies within 30ft gain a +1 insight bonus to AC & Attacks, and saves against Extraordinary, Supernatural and Spell-like abilities used by that specific type of creature. This increases by +1 at 5th lvl and every 6 levels thereafter. This ability is Language-dependent and requires visual and audible components. Replaces Inspire Courage.
Detect Evil: at will; As move action, gain knowledge of strength of aura about 1 item/individual within 60' as if he had studied it for 3 rounds of concentration.
Smite Evil: 1/day; add +3 (Cha) to attack, add +1 (level) to damage vs. 1 chosen opponent until they or he is defeated. If evil outsider, dragon or undead, gain +2 (2 x level) to damage instead, ignores DR.
He also gains a deflection bonus to AC vs. attacks from the target equal to his Cha mod (+3)

Glad you liked the character, and yes that is what I was referring to for Half-Elf favored classes bonuses. Some GM's don't let it work for gestalt (I've read a few threads about it). Doesn't matter much for the character I'm using, since I decided to go with human anyway and take the focused study alternate racial trait. I'll probably regret that when I'm hit with a sleep spell... but ah well.

One other question, as far as the campaign trait goes, would it be possible to re-flavor it a bit, rather than alter Thuvius' background. It doesn't make much sense for him to have been anywhere near the worldwound as a kid. My thoughts are A) the incident happened much more recently, but for whatever reasons magical or mundane his memories are very vague, or B) it happened in Ustalav when he was a child, as theere are plenty of horrible things he could have gotten in trouble with there as well.

Oh yeah, for clarification, I chose the Chance Encounter trait.

And the plagiarism bit... It was just that one time, I swear! Writing term papers is hard when you're hung-over all the time, and not entirely sure where you are when you wake up.

Sovereign Court

Yes, I will be submitting the Taurian Fighter/Bloodrager. Let me know about the hook, I am writing my backstory now.

Also, in relation to a question above, skill unlocks are on d20pfsrd, listed under the specific skills.

Hmmm, I keep wanting to play in this. Let's see what I can wrangle.

Heya Rednal. We need to stop applying for all the same games...and joining each others games...and being each other's GM's...people will talk!

OK, several questions.

First, do you allow the Master of Many Styles Archetype to function with the Unchained Monk? It works, rules wise, but it seems best to check.

Secondly, and related, do you allow the Variant Mulitclassing system from Unchained?

And finally, would you allow the Giant Bloodline from Kobold Press?

My plan is to make a Goliath Druid (didn't see that coming, did you?) with levels in Monk for some fun unarmed stuff and the bonus to AC, which the Giant bloodline will partially continue when I switch class.

Pretty much the character is all about getting big and fighting monsters on there own terms. Because nothing says 'fun' like Shoryukening the Dragon out.

Hello everyone!

I might just submit a character that I have been thinking about for a while now, a gestalt swordsman utilizing one of the Path of War classes, likely the Warblade or Zealot, and the Synthesist Summoner to make a multiarmed warrior of pure destructive capability.

His basic backstory would be that he is a warrior seeking a challenge and what better place for a challenge than a place where demons roam in hordes?

If there are any PCs who do not want weapons, he would be pleased to take them, even relatively weak ones, due to MULTIPLE ARMS! He will shy away from using holy and unholy weapons, however, due to them not being as useful to him.

Dark Archive

Thanks GM Glory! I hope you liked my oracle/paladin, which I plan to take on the Evangelist prestige path :) as much as there's a lot of cool third party stuff, I like playing the Paizo only character and having fun with it. It's strong enough already. I like some of the funny options we have been seeing here at the topic... It sounds like a great and exotic party is forming! Plus, I'd love to play with some other players from other games, like Galahad (always a blast to play with you, my friend).

I'm still writing my background, and I'll have it ready this week. I'm using the Touched by Divinity trait, so if anyone wants the same campaign trait, let me know and we can tie up a little bit of our back stories as the module suggests.

With an active GM and the group I see appearing here, it sure will be a blast ;)

Glory, if you prefer, I can create the alias already, btw :)

Hey, still recruiting? I've got a great character idea if it's not too late!

I'll have to update crunch, but this glasswright has a sister to save.

still 5 days or so until decision is made Timeswift, if I understood it right. Any restrictions on availability of weapons? I have a previous character concept that might go well with this revolving around hidden weapons. And one of the ones I want is an eastern weapon.

Dot for interest. Also how do you feel about wordcasting?

DM Gazebo God wrote:

Ooh, wordcasting would be fun, have you ever considered translating those words into another language for flavor?

I haven't, however that could definitely be cool. In that case I'll most likely be playing a sorcerer/arcanist focussing on blasting With some summoning involved.

DM Gazebo God wrote:

It's something I've considered doing, but haven't played a spellcaster with a word casting concept since it came out.

Scratch that. At this point thinking of doing more or less the same thing but Oracle instead of arcanist.

I found Hebrew worked well for Wordcasting when I used it.

JonGarrett wrote:

For a classical feeling I'd probably choose latin.

Thanks. :)

Never mind on the weapons question, I have no way to get sleight of hand without taking a criminal background that doesn't fit my current character.

Been thinking (dangerous, I know). I think I will change my weapon focus from Shortbow to unarmed; I will be using a Longbow so WF:Shortbow is wasted, but unarmed might be useful if forced into melee (at least until I get Point Blank Master at 3rd level).

Varisian Wanderer Trait allows you to get Slight of Hand as a class skill, basically part of a circus...
