Xantrius! Long time no crusade! :D I just finished overdosing on nostalgia by re-reading our old thread (here, if anyone's curious) - I wish it could have lasted too! It hurt so bad having to retire Anarya afterwards. I've always wanted to get her back into a game.

My instinct is Paladin since that works both thematically and mechanically with her powers as a "blessed soul" and healer. I've actually gestalted her with one once before, and came up with an interesting build into Holy Vindicator at higher levels. The stigmata/holy blood thing really fits her.

Ahhh, good old Baradesh. I miss him a little, but he didn't feel right for gestalt.

Heya Xantrius, Anarya.

Silver Dragon is a very difficult class to sort into melee/caster/ranged, on one side Valam has a breath attack usable every 1d4 rounds, on the other side, he's Tiny and only is able to hit adjacent enemies with his bite attack. Luckily his gestalt class is a spellcaster, so that does make it easier to define his role, however he's still full BAB, with a d12 HD (but due to his curse really doesn't*), three good saves, and plenty of skills (10 ranks at level 1, since I put FCB into it).

*:
Valam has 14 hit points at level 1, however every time he takes lethal damage, he takes additional nonlethal damage equal to half the lethal damage. This means that if he's hit for 6 damage, he really took 9, and if he took 10 damage, he's unconscious (but stable). The nonlethal heals easier, but the result is still the same regardless of any amount of healing, If Valam ever has 10 lethal damage, he'll be unconsious, so his hit points are really somewhere between 9 and 10 rather then 14, making him more of a d8 class then d12.

Kel is melee focused. He's a zone controller. Combat Reflexes, Bodyguard and a Reach weapon. It's not apparent yet, but eventually he's going to be able to take damage for everyone near him and punish any enemy dumb enough to try to get past him.

He's also an Oracle, but his spells are primarily going to go toward buffing and healing,

@Gavmania: I would say that I am providing mainly support (via skills and spells), but the ranged doesn't work, as I don't get the bomb making ability of a pure alchemist. I would be best placed in the Caster category.

I considered making a slightly more "balanced" gestalt character but decided on going (almost) full-tilt caster. I'm not sure that would be so good in a party of four, but we have a real wide variety of characters in this.

Sadly for those among us who don't make the cut, I don't see there being another game to place these high powered characters into.

If it makes you feel better, I plan to open a gestalt Legendary Planet campaign once the Kickstarter gets going. XD I don't think it's a full mythic campaign, but characters will ascend...

Is it wrong that i initially read that as Captain Planet?

Silver Crusade

My plan for Shimmer is melee focused, with casting for support as needed, so spot on.

Well, he is a hero... but I think Gozreh would get mad at us if we tried that. XD

I was always worried where that one kids was going to find all the hearts he promised...

Vraxis is a melee combatant, short and sweet.

from Vraxis' page...

"warpriest or irori 1"

I don't think I would need to put that "or" in there. I would be a level 1 irori all day, every day.

:D

just having a lil fun with a typo...

What can I say, if I could spell I woulda been a wizard.

Silver Crusade

Hey Jon, sorry I missed you. Who are you playing now? Ah, the Goliath Druid/Monk! Hmmm, if both of us get chosen, we're going to have to try a "fastball special" sometime! ;)

Yes, yes we are.

Where'd everyone go? :D

I'm off to bed so I can get up in 5 hours.

Why did the campaign go inactive? That's odd. Let me fix this before I respond.

I'm almost finished! I mostly just need to figure out the name, write out the backstory properly, and put it all into a profile.

Seems quite lively and active to me... 47 posts while I was at work!

Ok, so let me repost what I posted yesterday, which was apparently eaten.

Kingmaker isn't so bad. I actually made a nice list that covered each hex at each level possible in that book. If PCs didn't cover a hex, which only happened like twice in the entire campaign, I simply made a new array of encounters for it at the next range of levels. If you would like, you may PM me for suggestions on these, since I made it work with what is probably the most zig-zaggy party ever when it comes to hex maps. To give you an idea of the types of changes I make, let me tell you about one encounter in another hex-based game. The scripted encounter was for a Troll. They were about 4 levels below it, which is to say that they were in the TPK zone. Well, instead of them fighting the single Troll, I had them come across a burning glade where a wizard had fought and killed the Troll. The Troll was warped by fey energies, so even in death it still had a sort of life. The unburnt portions of it 'budded off' into Trollings, little baby Trolls that were listed in the Iron Kingdoms' 'Monsternomicon' and had fast healing instead of regeneration, though said fast healing was pretty high all things considered. It ended up being a little easier than I thought, primarily because the Wizard cast a spell to bring a burning tree down on two of the Trollings, but that was simply an intelligent use of the environment that was well rewarded.

No custom races allowed. I normally have no issues with custom races, if this was a standard campaign, but it isn't. As it stands right now, I much prefer known races for this AP.

Unchained Rogue and Occult Adventure material are allowed.

26 submissions so far! I do not envy your decision making process, GM Glory.

Gotta say, doesn't look like anybody half-arsed it.

They sure didn't. Wish I was still the only guy with Rogue. Way less competition...

yep, Least I got group drunk locked down. Though I'm not sure if that's a positive or negative.

Too bad group doesn't equal party

Do you mean party..., OR PAAAARRRTY!?!?

Party? I assumed the GM wanted a whole army to send on her personal crusade. That's why we're up to 10 pages in the recruitment.

It should be rather interesting this weekend...at least I got the gnome locked down tight :) That being said, not sure where that puts me in line at the reception hall...

I updated Allyo to focus much more on his healing side; I basically changed the mystery to Life and revelation to Channel, but keeping the Lore Spirit. I just decided to give him a more clear path :)

Outside. Nobody likes gnomes. They talk to much and are prone to rather destructive accidents. :)

I really hope I get the chance to punch evil in the face with my magical fists.

Punching evil in the face with my magical fists would be really cool.

You sir, are obviously getting my species mixed up with those 'other' types (i.e. garden, or even... tinker gnomes *shudder) For the record, I belong to the 'common' gnome variety (in Latin, we are Akermannus sapiens profundo), whereas garden gnomes don't exist in your 'World,' and those others...well, it's like that Star Trek: DS9 episode, where Worf runs into a bunch of those old '60's style' Klingons..."We don't talk about them..."

Please, keep your obvious racial bias out of these forums, and with the rest of your 'blueneck' compatriots, if you please. o_O

I have been going through the applicants, and like some others, I to, am compiling my "short list" of those that I think would do well with Sabrina.

though I rather not say who is on the list nor who is being considered, yet.

but considering I am confident that Sabrina is NOT on anyone else's list of hopeful companions, I guess a list of my own is the best bet at the moment.

Arkus Shaleskin is ready to go! You'll find his character sheet, build plan, background, appearance, and personality all in his character profile.

If you look at his build plan, you'll note that his combat role is solely ranged until level 6, at which point he becomes melee-focused with optional ranged support. This, of course, requires some retraining, but I'm sure that we can work out some downtime or something. Out of combat, he's a decent trap finder/disabler.

I know he seems like a bit of an odd choice for WotR, but I envision him being a sort of tragic hero type who counterbalances the party.

GM Glory, do you use Hero Lab? If so, let us know and those of us that have it can just send you the .por files of our characters.

Can you make a gestalt character in herolab?

yes you can if you have the 3rd party add-on

I don't remember the link for that though, sorry.

It's one of the things ShadowChemosh made - should be available with his other creations. ^^

Yes, I added it and it works perfectly.

Wow, every time I turn around, it's a ton of posts in here. :(

Makes me worry that I'm not posting enough in the recruitment thread and might be considered 'blase' about it. Just busy is all (life is hectic lately, those who have played with me know why).

S'cool Shi'Vatha. The community as a whole acknowledges that there is a world beyond the shiny box in front of us, and that sometimes it intrudes.

Darros Ironhorn wrote:

I've seen some issues, especially when you are using some of the 3rd party stuff. But overall it works well.

Alright, I've settled on a Purifier Oracle of Life/Sacred Shield Paladin gestalt for Anarya. She will work up to heavy armor and a big shield, and those within the light of her halo will always find themselves protected from the ravages of evil. She is a healer and a protector first and foremost, leveraging her Life Link revelation, shield other spells, and her Bastion of Good ability from Sacred Shield to protect her allies, while healing them (and herself) with Lay on Hands and Channel Energy.

Also, she's going to channel force demons like there's no tomorrow. The finishing touches to her level 1 build will be completed shortly.

Mythic Path will be Hierophant, and she will be taking levels in Holy Vindicator at higher levels.

A sample of the character's roleplaying from a prior WotR campaign can be found here, if interested.

Actually I add support the entire time, or I can depending on my choices, I just get a lot better at it later.

Looks like Arkus got missed on your lists. He's ranged til level 6, at which he becomes melee with ranged support. He can also disable magical and mundane traps with a decent bonus, and can do it at range at level 2. He also serves as a bit of a tank with high HP/AC.
