Elaqis starts as the mummy moves up and stares at him. Thoughts enter into his mind, but the summoner shakes them off. Raging, the gnome launches a spell of his own at the creature. {Draconic} "Nice try, but I see through your slippery tongue. Now let's see if you see through this!"
Casting Glitterdust right behind him. He needs a DC 19 Will save of his own or is blinded
"Get it Amar. Lay it to rest!"

Amar N'Ugnuna |

"My pleasure." Amar replies as he steps to the mummy and punches three more times at it, trying to rake past its wrappings and into its desiccated flesh.

GM, as I don't know if either of my two AoOs 'popped' an image, or if the people going before me will, I'll leave the mirror image miss chance to you to roll if you don't mind.

I'm goin to say that more than 9 minutes went by in between fights. Searching the body, finding and reading the note, moving the eggs, figuring out the puzzle door, readying yourselves, and then opening the door. A lot happened.
No worries. I just thought I'd check.
The hasted paladin dashes across the room to smite the mummy, shouting "Foul perversion, your death will be permenant this time!"Power Attack: 1d20 + 14 - 3 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 14 - 3 + 2 + 3 = 17
Nope. Also, just an fyi but with the haste spell and my armor of the champion, my AC is 33 against the mummy.

Unnvar shakes of the gloom...Uhh...what is happening here, fight the thing, why am I so afraid! He will himself to join the battle.

Amar swings and hits as the mummy moves into place and then hits an image as the mummy tries to enchant Elaqis.
Elaqis shakes off the effect, and bathes the undead in glitter.

Unnvar shakes away his despair and moves forward, swinging hard and dissipating another image.
Sarsczek zips around and bites at the creature.

Elaqis begins casting:
Unnvar swings his greatsword, missing with his first 2 swings, but finally connecting with his 3rd attack and hitting solid on the body, removing a piece of the undead with it.
Sarsczek takes a couple bites at the creature and swings his claws at it. The claws scratch harmlessly against its hide, but he's able to sink his teeth into the undead both times.
By the might of Iomedae, Owyn's first swing cuts the serpentfolk mummy's head clean off, the second swing misses the head that's no longer there, but the final strike cleaves the creature in half lengthwise as Glorymane jumps out of his shield catching the skull in its mouth and crushing it. The mummy is relegated to dust. All that remains is a few of the wrappings still burning from Owyn's sword.
End of Combat.
Well done! I'll wrap up this room shortly.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

As you search the room, you find a platinum coffer that contains 4 scrolls of Remove Curse, 2000gp, and a treatise on the worship of Ydersius written on a series of serpentskin scrolls.
Amongst the dust that once was Kariska The Spiteful, a serpentfolk mummy, you find bracers of armor +2, cloak of resistance +2, ring of protection +1, and 2,750 gp.
As you make your way out past the hatchery, that now contains the eggs, like it is supposed to, and into the family cave you find there is a group discussion with the entire Lizardfolk clan. Amongst the discussion is, of course, Essviss and Oosthic, and several warriors who have just returned to find the Aspis in their home defeated. As the group pauses briefly at the sight of the discussion, Essviss comes over and lets you know that there will be a feast in your honor. . . .

![]() |

August recovers his composure only to feel exceptionally embarrassed about having been so rattled at the sight of the enemy. He can't even speak or look at anyone while the party retreats.
Even at the mention of food, August stays very quiet and to himself and keeps fiddling with his backpack, armor or his weapons.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

. . . During the feast several of the lizardfolk come over and thank the group for their help ridding them of the smooth-skin invaders, including Oosthic, who thanks you for saving the eggs, and keeping them all intact, and Essviss who thanks everyone personally. Anytime the subject of an alliance against the Aspis comes up, they all seem a little put off by the idea. At the end of the feast, Essviss comes to the group to thank you once again. . .
At this time, choose someone to make a Diplomacy check to convince the Muckmouth Lizardfolk to ally with the Pathfinders. Those not making the check can aid (as long as you are able to make a DC 20 Diplomacy check).
Once decided, make all the aid checks first, then the actual diplomacy check.
A word of warning, and I don't like the way they did this, but the Diplomacy check is an all or nothing roll for the 2nd Prestige Point.

![]() |

August continues to stay quiet. I can't hit a 20 on a Diplo check.

![]() |

Unnvar has a -1 diplomacy, so he won't be any help here.
Seeing August being downtrodden, Unnvar attempts to lift his spirits.
Don't worry August, I froze at the sight of that thing too. It was horrible looking wasn't it. You more than earned your keep around here the way you dispatched the Aspis woman. Man the way her arm came straight off. That was fine work. Unnvar clasps the dwarf on the back to cheer him.

![]() |

Wonder if Elaqis takes a 10, for 29; then Owyn aids taking 10 for 25; would give us a 31...wonder if that's enough. Can anyone else aid?

![]() |

Sarsczek smiles a toothy grin when the word 'feast' is uttered. He picks some mummy wrapping out of his teeth and responds "I already ate a bit, but mummy dust not very filling. Lets party with our new scaly friends!"
Sarsczek will opt not to attempt a -3 Diplomacy check, and instead will attempt to dance.
Perform (Dance): 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (17) - 3 = 14

![]() |

Well, good to know there's no pressure then.
"Please , thanks are not neccessary. As we said, we saw you in trouble and were able to help. That's one of the Pahtfinder Society's core creeds you know: Cooperate. And you did: you helped give us valuable warning and information about the Aspis that let us take them down without any harm coming to the eggs. Working together the job got done perfectly."
"Now I'm not sure when I will be back here again, but I know other Pathfinders will be around this land soon, doing the other two parts of our motto: Exploring and Reporting. We understand that you and your clan have your ways. We don't want to disrupt that. Either way, we will try to help you and let you be. But if you want to help us along the way, to let us know a bit of what you know and work together from time to time when teamwork is needed to push the Aspis back off this land, then I can assure you that it would not go forgotten or unappreciated."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (15) + 19 = 34
With Owyn, that makes 36.

Woot! Great role and roll Elaqis!

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Sarsczek starts dancing at the end of the feast to show his enthusiasm. Though the lizardfolk aren't quite sure what to make of him, his performance is rather endearing, and gets several smiles and laughs.
As the feast comes to an end and Essviss approaches the group to thank them, Elaqis speaks to the lizardfolk. Though skeptical a moment ago, as soon as the gnome speaks his presence draws their attention and they are enthralled by his words. Essviss and Oosthic both nod throughout the speech.
Essviss approaches, "You all are most definitely not the like the smooth skins that invaded our home we have watched you carefully and taken note of your deeds.
"August and Clandelve, dwarves of honor and integrity whose skill with your weapons goes unmatched." Looking directly at August, "It seems one or two of our next generation has you thank, as we heard it was you that put Durra down just as she was about to smash one of our eggs.
Unnvar and Sarsczek, scouting ahead so nothing can take anyone by surprise, then time after time showing skill with your blade and . . .claws."
"Owyn, character and integrity guide your blade dealing swift justice to those that wronged us . . . and silencing the undead as well."
Essviss then looks to Elaqis, "Your words have eased us of the Pathfinders presence ever since you stepped into the Muckmouth. We thank you for showing us what smooth-skins are truly like. We will fight with you and your Pathfinder clan against the Aspis smooth-skins. We thank you for freeing us and saving the next generation of our clan. May Gozreh watch over you in your travels."
You bid the lizardfolk of the Muckmouth goodbye and make your way back across through the tomb and to your planar eddy. You teleport back to the Pathfinder Headquartes in Absolom and report your findings regarding the Aspis presence, how the Aspis may have gained access to the tapestry; the serpentfolk mummy; and the new alliance with the lizardfolk, giving the Pathfinders a foothold in Hao Jin's realm. . .
End of Scenario.
With bonuses for making friends along the way, and killing Durra before she started breaking eggs, Elaqis destroyed the Diplomacy DC.

We sure did, you saved the eggs and now the lizardfolks are are friends August. Well done.
