This is the place to discuss levels, character options, or anything else related to metagame or real-life issues (a common use is telling the other players when you won't be "as available").
If you look at the top of this thread, you'll see some tabs. The "Gameplay" tab (when I open it) is where the actual gameplay will happen.
Since many of you are new to PbP, I would suggest reading This Post. It has lots of information about how to format and proper PbP etiquette.
I will try to judge the pacing here by the players. From what I see, it could be 1/day post or more... probably not less. Minimum of 1/day posting is typical common etiquette, or at the very least checking the thread once/day. Of course, we can be more relaxed about that if people are out or on weekends. Let me know (in this discussion thread) if you think my pacing is off. I won't be offended (especially since this is my first PbP game I've GMed) :)
You will (most likely) being using the actual PFS character alias to post. It's a good idea to have a "stat line." You can place this is many of the fields on your character profile (class, gender, etc.) I don't care where, as long as it appears underneath your character name when your character posts. This is important so that I know whether I have hit your character or not when I do attacks. You can even change it up as your AC changes (like mage armor, etc.) Here's an example of one of my stat lines for a character:
Half-Orc Spiritualist (Onmyoji) 1 | HP 10/10 | AC 12 | T 10 | FF 12 | CMD 10 | Fort +6 | Ref +2 | Will +9 | Init +2 | Perception +5 | Sense Motive +5 | Level 1 Spells: 3/3
It's also a good idea to have a copy of your character's stats etc. either in the profile of the character or a link to the sheet in the character's profile. Scanned works for me if you don't have it digitally and don't want to type it up. :)
If you have a companion, feel free to make an alternate alias for them with all their stats too! :)
The last thing to talk about is initiative. Initiative in PbP is... relative. Basically, I will be rolling all initiative at once when combat breaks out and ordering it myself, and then will bold the names that are allowed to post their actions in combat. You don't necessarily have to post in order if your name is bolded. Descriptive actions and flourishing are heavily encouraged, but if you don't have the time to make that type of post, that's OK as well.
Other than that, have fun! The best thing about PbP is the fact that you have time to think about your actions, have in-character dialog, and have character introductions that people can remember. (And the fact that you can always look back at the mission briefing should you forget it)
For people who are stumbling upon this thread...sorry, but players are already determined for this game.

will post house rules later.
glancing through the mod, 1st part has investigation type stuff, 2nd a little more nature/outside, and 3rd fun.
so standard party roles (some social, some skills, combat, magic, some healing).
GM Seyonne |
i am hoping to make this a more creepy, horror like game...so take that into account.
from what i can tell, most classes are fine to play. however, i would suggest not specializing in anti-undead...not unless you want to use the character in/if we play something else afterwards.
not sure how you all want to do backstories. the game takes place in and around the Isgeri town of Saringallow.
there isnt any advantage to being from here. being of chelish descent could be...interesting roleplay wise.
since we have new players, we are starting at level 1. the home rules link list out the creation details. basically like pfs (20 point buy, 150 starting gold, full hp first level).
when building your character, please do it in google docs and share it.
yiroep, do you have a handy template you can share? i like the format you use, not sure if it is the standard paizo one or not.
i hope to start this early next week, but still need to get characters sorted first. once we get going, i hope we can do at least one post a day.

almost want to use the shortened skill list. however, not sure how i feel about umd being int based instead of cha.
going to suggest twilamk to use unchained barbarian. seems like it will be easier to manage.
GM Seyonne |
for new people, do you think the consolidated skill system is better yiroep? it would be less numbers floating around.
GM Seyonne |
Looks like they actually have rules for how to handle traits and skill focus. Will fill it out in home rules and post a link.

for blueringlady
archtypes for sorcerer . Search for Sylvan. It isnt as blasty as dragon blood line, but gets you an animal companion.
GM Seyonne |
so consolidated skills has two outliers that bug me...umd and handle animal. both become int skills. might try coming up with a tweak for those.
GM Seyonne |
I will get you a template build tonight. Then we can walk through feats, skills, equipment, and spells. also traits ha.
spells with sorcerer tend to go one of two ways. First super focused at one thing, which can get you in trouble when that one thing doesnt work. The second way is to pick flexible spells. Say one main damage spell at each level and one utility spell. Group will probably counting on you to take down swarms with something like burning hands.
GM Seyonne |
oh, everyone gets one set of free clothing (not the rich clothes though)...i also count clothing against carrying capacity, casters should like that.
GM Seyonne |
looks like you can help the barbarian with being tired from raging. Some reason i thought they made it so you couldnt get ride of the fatigue, guess i was wrong...or maybe thinking of one of the vigilantes.

above link has good tips for how to post.
game is starting with intros, please see game thread.
you all have answered the mayor's desperate call for help.
GM Seyonne |
blueringlady has some life stuff going on. she will join us sometime next week.
where we are at now is a chance for lots of roleplay, a chance to get a feel for the town (and for me to breath some of my own flavor/life into it).
if things go really well, maybe we can do Stranger Aeons.
Isu Ramose |
Btw, this just got sanctioned, so we can get PFS credit at certain parts now. :)
Doesn't affect gameplay but still cool.
GM Seyonne |
can you get credit even if you use home game urls?
also, i apologize for being bad about moving the story along. i plan on getting things moving along again during this week.
GM Seyonne |
So i am getting ready to roll off my current project. I want to try starting this back up this weekend.
