The cold blast only skims the top of her head, causing her red mane to take on a coat of rime as she scrambles up into position--easily, thanks to the magical Slippers!

DMTS--what is the blue triangle? that matters before I commit to a move, please...
EDIT--that's the cold breath, innit? if that's the case, i'll move now.

Ali: yes, the blue triangle is was the breath weapon. Still takes a full-round action to get through the trap door, though, so while I'll let the guidance slide, even though I told ya she only got a Move action :-P, she's only going to get a five foot step.

Vojtek still has a full-round action!

Thanks for letting it slide, Everyone had their next d20 roll with Guidance from either Davosh or I, unless Ali can cast it too. Was in my prep post.

My bad, then, I missed that.

Character Sheet | Tactical Map | XP

Vojtek five foots diagonally (trait that allows normal movement on ice) and freaks out on the dragon!

Power Attack with Greatsword: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 11 - 2 = 10 for 2d6 + 11 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 11 + 6 = 23 damage with Wartooth gnash: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 for 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 damage.

Clearly his fury has worsened his aim, unfortunately.

Vojtek's furious frenzy fails!

Kappi's head sticks through the trapdoor as he makes his way up. He sees the dragon breathe again!
(DC 18 Reflex save; Kappi gets a +2 on his Reflex save — Ali does not this time.)
cold dmg: 8d4 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 1, 4, 1, 1, 1) = 17
Vojtek, please keep track of your protection from cold damage.

AoO dmg: 2d6 + 11 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 11 + 6 = 24
He roars in pain, as he departs, stopping just off the ledge some thirty feet above the platform. Come, little ones! his dragon voice booms above the howling winds. Your death has a name, and it is LOGRIVICH!

Edward
Vojtek

Ali, Vojtek, and Kappi are up! Edward will come in for next round. The white area is all ice, so will cost double movement on the ground and add 5 to the DC of Acrobatics checks for those who need to make them.

Reminder to those who are or will be flying: to remain airborne at the end of your turn you'll need to make a DC 15 Fly check to hover or else you will need to land. (Logrivich makes this check automatically.)

Reflex save vs dragon's breath 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 2 = 13
Kappi has evasion for 1/2 damage.

Resist Energy 2 points left.

Kappi climbs up through the trapdoor and is caught in the open as the dragon breaths its cold breath. Though the lad is hit w/ it, he drops and rolls at the last moment to shed a good bit of the blast.
The lad feels the icy cold breath descend on him in more of a wave than a cloud. Though its deathly cold, he barely feels it. Then with a grin he remembers the Potion of Resist Cold he drank moments before going up the ladder.
The rogue moves over to the other side of the room.

It absorbs 12 points of cold damage per caster level. Its a third level spell. So a cleric would have to be minimum of 5th level to cast it. So good for 60 damage of cold. I think...

This time, Ali is not so lucky, and takes the full force of the icy breath. She grits her teeth against the burning cold, but feels Edward's goodly magic preventing the attack from being catastrophic to being only "really really bad."

She has an arrow nocked...but sees an opening to cast a spell before Vojtek closes.

Ali casts Stone Call over the dragon, catching only it, in the air--so there will be no difficult terrain for anyone to worry about!

No SR, no save. Suck it, Loggie!!

Vojtek handles the awkwardness of flying for the first time well, and finds it an exhilarating experience. Why he never thought of doing this before, he will never know.

The daylight effect shines off the barbarian through the cloaked black of night as he hurtles forward, chasing the shadows that surround the dragon away temporarily. Vojtek's charge lands his blade into the side of Logrivich, who howls in pain and turns his full fury onto the Northman!

Seeing the situation change with the fall of Vojtek, Edward has to put the smiting of Logrivich on hold.

Logrivish I've never seen a dragon surrender his lair so quickly. I think we might see what we can find in here. While you titter about out there. Edward yells hoping to draw the dragon in so it's breath doesn't flow over the fallen barbarian yet again.

Kappi stands stock still for a few moments in disbelief...

Then he suddenly raised both hands in the air in wild-eyed amazement and victory!
Then just as quickly as it came, the lad remembers Vojtek is also down and not moving. Emotion running high Kappi runs over his barbarian friend and then sliding on the ice he almost goes off the edge.
Only a last second impulse, the lad jams his dagger down in the ice and manages to slow his slide to a stop, and then anchor the blade in. Even then the lad's legs were dangling over the edge. Kappi nimbly scrambles back up and the few feet over to the downed Vojtek.

Whether its the elation of killing a dragon, almost plummeting to his own death over the side of an icy drop-off, or his true feelings for his friend... The Varisian lad has tears running down his face and is trying to sniff huge slots back up into his nose.
No, no Vojtek, you are going to be okay. The lad rips off his backpack and starts rummaging through it. I think I had one last potion of healing in here... I think... I'm pretty sure...
He now just up ends the pack and dumps everything out all over the ice. As he frantically searches through it.
The potion he searches for isn't there and he finally stops and starts sobbing a little harder. By this time Davosh moves to Vojtek's side and begins his strange Ancient's type of healing.

Then Kappi suddenly stops crying (though he still has snots all over), Wait! That bottle was in my pouch, not pack! And sure enough a millisecond later he has a small bottle in hand and carefully uncorks it with his teeth as he bubbles snot out of one of his nostrils.
The lad hands it to Davosh, who then unceremoniously pours it down Vojtek's gullet.

So the question now is, does the party — and Vojtek's player — want to raise Vojtek, or carry on with a replacement?

AS the party checks on the barbarian, the remnants of his chain armor lie about him, turned into ribbons by the dragon's claws. Kappi also notes that his trusted, worn greatsword is snapped in two beneath his akimbo body.

Davosh exhales first, noting the gentle rise and fall of the Northman's chest. Wounded, near death's door...but alive.

Kappi kneels on the ice pathetically sobbing next to his friend's lifeless corpse. It was difficult but he looked further at Vojtek's dragon torn flesh. His chainmail shirt was destroyed. The dragon's teeth and claws went through it like paper. An entire section of his thigh was completely gone leaving exposed bone. But maybe the worst part was where one of the dragon's claws had cut right into Vojtek's chest, just opened it right up. The claw sliced right through his heart. With no heart how could he be healed? It was too late for their friend.

The lad started sobbing again for a few minutes. Davosh came and knelt by his side, some sort of strange muttering under his breath. Though weird and in almost every way off putting, Kappi was somehow comforted by the Speaker of the Ancients. Kappi mind drifted for a moment about all the crazy knowledge that Davosh must have heard over the years listening to long dead spirits.
Something steeled in the lad. He leaned away from Vojtek and snot rocketed till his nose was somewhat clear. He wiped the rest on his sleeves.
Davosh, you must know some way. There must be some way we can bring Vojtek back. Kappi turns and looks back at Edward and Ali standing behind him. Maybe he is imagining it, but he thinks they press him on. Yes, Davosh I know his heart was destroyed. But there must be a way. Please... Whatever the price is it will be paid...
Kappi knelt for a long moment staring at the strange witch. Yes, you must...

Ali places a strong hand on Kapi's shoulder. Tears stream freely down her cheeks, but any sobs that try to leap from her throat are choked back. She will be as strong as she can, to honor the might of the fallen Warrior, and to support her young, grieving friend.
