Kappi Matarito
Just FYI, Kappi's youth and uncertainty make him one of the more memorable and awesome characters I can recall encountering - via D&D or professional published writing. I love the way you are portraying him. Keep it up!
Thanks, I've only had a few characters in pbp. But he is my favorite too. All of our "8th grade" shenanigans are a large source of inspiration for Kappi.

Ali closes with the troll...very nervous about her current wounds, but not willing to leave Kappi in there alone. before closing, though, she pops out the wand of Shield and uses it on herself, then drops it...
* retrieve wand (free action); cast Shield; move.
Very nice practice of your Drunken Boxing technique, Kappi!! she throws him a wink before eyeing the troll.

Thirded. It's fun to picture in my mind's eye — like watching myself as a young pup do stupid things. LOL
Davosh's quick thinking stops the regeneration on the trollhound!
Kappi moves into the room, almost immeidately thinking better of his actions!
Ali activates a wand and closes in, immediately putting the rogue in a more comfortable state of mind!

Furious at the loss of his pet, the troll goes into full attack mode on Ali!

Ali you were totally healed before we opened the door.
Round 2
Seeing the demise of the regenerating dog took some worry off of Edward. He steps to the right and takes a careful aim at the axe hurling troll.
Longbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Kappi Matarito
I'm a little confused on order. I think Vojtek goes before Kappi but here goes anyway.
Round ?
Very nice practice of your Drunken Boxing technique, Kappi!! she throws him a wink before eyeing the troll.
Kappi gives the elf warrior an odd look. Clearly her joke goes completely over the Varisian lad's scarf wrapped head.
The rogue watches the elf and ice troll meet in battle. Ali seems to be holding her own, at least for the moment. Though clearly more than she seems, the elf maid looks like such a slight force standing against the troll.
Standing on the far side of the table Kappi feels like a bit of a coward watching Ali fight alone. Giving him some grit in his gut the lad manages to move around the table (without bumping it) and get into flanking position.
Kappi moves in his strange quick, but awkward jerkiness trying to dodge the ice troll's long reach as he moves in to strike.
Acrobatics 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
flanking attack 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 9 + 2 = 26
sh sword 1d6 + 6 + 3d6 ⇒ (1) + 6 + (1, 5, 6) = 19
On flanking attack, gives the "bewildered" effect. For 1 round the creature struck has a -2 AC to party members and a -4 to Kappi.
RAGING VOJTEK!!!!
(Insert battle bugle sound here)
Vojtek sees his opening and drops his head and shoulders down. He sprints forward in a raging, galloping, greatsword-wielding charge!
Power Attack with Greatsword: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 11 - 2 = 17 for 2d6 + 11 + 6 ⇒ (4, 5) + 11 + 6 = 26 damage. Damage x 2 for charge.
GM thunderspirit
The ice troll beholds Davosh's wicked eye!
DC 18 Will save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 Nope.
Edward's arrow bounces harmlessly off the ice troll's metal armor!
Ali makes breezes in the air! Her movement to close with the beast provokes!
AoO: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 Nope.
AoO dmg: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 5) + 4 = 10
Kappi deftly moves about the ice troll, and his flanking attack is successful!
The ice troll is bewildered...but not bewildered enough to be hit by the raging Vojtek!
Even as its wounds begin to heal, the ice troll flings open the door to his north with a Move action.
Inside can be seen a room with three prison cells along the north wall, alongside which stands a seven-foot-tall, thick-bodied, white-furred humanoid adorned in bearskins and bearing an axe made of ice and bone.
Tactically sound, the ice troll moves to eliminate his opponents' advantage.
CMB check vs. Kappi: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Kappi takes 4 points of nonlethal damage and is knocked prone five feet away from the ice troll, whereupon it takes a five-foot step into the space Kappi involuntarily vacated.
You guys are up!

Kappi lays on the ground and blinks. It happened so fast he hardly registered what happened. Then a touch of rage comes over the lad. By the STD ridden vag of a Calistrian whore! . The rogue rolls to his feet and eats the AoO . Kappi tries to savagely slice the troll's leg as he regains stands.

Round 3
Edward feels the slight draw of healing that flows to Kappi. Kappi heal your 4 non lethal. With a few steps and a quick prayer to Apsu Edward releases yet another arrow.

Does my arrow get the benefit of Kappi's bewilder?
It does. Like Ali's swing, though, it misses.
RAGING VOJTEK!!!!
Phil texted me that I'm the hold up here - sorry!
Vojtek ducks and weaves nimbly, then spots his chance and shuffles forward to make a ferocious attack, just at the moment when the foe seems distracted by the exchange from the other room.
With deftly timed footwork, Vojtek's blade and wartooth are brought to bear on the foul beast!
Power Attack with Greatsword: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 11 - 2 = 27 for 2d6 + 11 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 11 + 6 = 23 damage with Wartooth gnash: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 for 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 damage.

AoO: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
AoO dmg: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 2) + 4 = 9
Then the barbarian's blade lands in the ice troll's hide! His bite, however, draws little but metal from the troll's armor!
It then retaliates, even as the wounds start to heal, with a full attack on Vojtek!
battleaxe: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Bursting through the door, the white-furred humanoid from the other room charges through the door at Ali with a huge, crude crook of sharpened metal!

I think it is round 4?
Somewhat frustrated by getting knocked off his feet and not being able to flank the bastitch ice troll, Kappi jukes left then right. While the Varisian lad manages to avoid the troll's ire, he is not happy to see his good friend Vojtek take the brunt of the troll's fury. Though just armed with a small sword and dagger the lad goes full attack on the ice troll.

RAGING VOJTEK!!!!
When he sunk his teeth into the beast, he clamped down mightily, even through its attack on Ali.
Vojtek releases his jaw, and with bits of blood a white fur clinging to his chin, the crazed barbarian follows up immediately with a massive downward strike with his Greatsword!
After the forward momentum of the sword strike carried him closers to the beast again, Vojtek's gnarly wartooth again sought the creature's lifeblood.
Power Attack with Greatsword: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 11 - 2 = 15 for 2d6 + 11 + 6 ⇒ (2, 2) + 11 + 6 = 21 damage with Wartooth gnash: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 for 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 damage.

"Liska, see to this rude intruder."
The winter fox leaves the safety of her master's robes and springs forward. The fox's snout brings with it a dark cloud of crackling energy. She darts between Ali's legs and uses her snout to boop Bonepick in the leg: Touch Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19.
The cloud leaves her snout and enters the creature at the heart, squeezing it. Negative Energy DMG: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9 Bonepick is also Staggered for 1 round.

As if jogged into action by Davosh's command, the awkwardly nimble rogue hops over the dead troll's legs and brings his short sword around in a deceptively looping attack, which then turns to a sharp thrusting movement.

Davosh the Wanderer
That ought to do it! I actually really like this fight. Not sure why. I'm also glad I finally cast Stricken Heart. It FEELS like a witch spell I suppose.
GM thunderspirit
Bonepick is distracted by the rogue tripping over the dead troll long enough to find Vojek's blade taking his head clean off!
Out of combat!
Bonepick had a suit of studded leather armor, rank but well-constructed (mwk); and a necklace made of severed fingers. A small pouch also holds a trio of blue quartz gems (75 total gpv). The ice troll wore a necklace with smaller blue quartzes (100 gpv). He also had a masterwork Large battleaxe and a Large mithral chain shirt!
The room from which Bonepick came has cells along the north wall, each holding children, who are wide-eyed at the five of you.
This is not the same fight, by the way, Vojtek. You entered the tower back then, but this is a separate encounter (though twice now the NPCs have triggered a second encounter in combination).

The speaker-to-ancients knows full well he'll frighten them if he talks, so he looks to Edward. Instad he searches for magic in the items... and then turns his detection spell on the children, just in case.

Not sure which is funnier: Davosh's reaction to kids, or the idea of cutting their heads off with a morningstar...

"AH! Devil children! We must cut their heads off!"

.
Kappi lets out a breath he didnt realize he was holding and his stomach settles down. He was about to throw up hearing that they must murder all these kids. The young rogue believes Davosh to truly be "touched" by the ancients or something and treats his words as gospel. Kappi is really glad that Ali and Edward convinced Davosh the kids are alright.
Not being much for words either. The rogue pulls out three old winter apples. To put the children a bit more at ease he begins to juggle them. He is able to toss them quite high in the air and even manage to spin around and still be in time to catch them. Trying not to push his luck too much the lad brings them in and deftly slices the apples up and gives each child a piece. With one left over, he tosses it to Wartooth.

Munchkinny treasure-related question. Armor for a Lg humanoid is double the price. Does the cost of the mithral also get doubled (since the weight is also doubled)?
Kappi Matarito
Kappi might kinda like the mwk studded leather, anyone else?
How many kids are there?
The young rogue kinda wonders what to do with them. He mentions to the party about leading the kids to a safe place. Or have them stay there while the party continues to explore. The rogue thinks the last unexplored door should lead to a stairwell.
GM thunderspirit
Ali: the cost/value is also doubled, but you'd have to find a buyer on the black market...or a smith to work it into a Medium-sized shirt.
Kappi: there are a half-dozen children here, between 6 and 12. The littlest ones are fascinated by Kappi's antics, though the two older ones begin to softly plead for release.
Vojtek Wartooth
Vojtek moves to free them. Do the cages seem smashable? Vojtek starts examining the cages with a kindly wink in their direction.
Kappi Matarito
oh whoops, I thought we had already freed them.

....but they COULD have been devil children.....
-Posted with Wayfinder
GM thunderspirit
They COULD have been. I've heard other witches find human children to be good eatin'.
A large ring on the back of the entry door contains a handful of keys, one of which fits a different cage. In addition to the three along the north wall, there is a fourth cage, empty, to the east. The oldest child states that there were a pair of children in that one too, but they were taken away a couple of days ago and have not been seen since.
Once freed, the youngest cling to your legs in a mixture of gratitude and desperation. A few more questions reveals that they are orphans and runaways captured by — and in one case simply a strong-willed child that was given to — a certain Granny Nan, who locked them in these cages. Bonepick loved to come in and terrorize them, as he was doig when the party arrived.
