With her spell, Wren sees the room is full of webs! Worse, is what almost certainly created the webs: an immense purple spider with a legspan of nearly 40 feet and a hideously bloated body!
It's a Leng spider...
And I think with that, we'll go into initiative. And just to be clear and make sure we're all on the same page: you're all flying 60 feet up, under the ceiling of a 90-foot-tall room apparently filled with invisible webs that only Wren knows about. The spider that only Wren can see is about 40 feet up, so about 50 feet away from you.

Wren realizes that she doesn't have a lot of options for allowing others to be as gloriously wise and thoughtful as she is.

Wren chitters angrily at the situation, unable to open the eyes of Elena.
She does offer a simple Scorching Ray (actually 3 of them), before flying off, out of sight.

Elena, unable to see a target, hesitates as Wren blasts away with fire. Though no one can see it except for Wren, she hits it perfectly. But she's also the only one to see as it gestures with its legs -- and everyone suddenly slowly drops to the ground except Wren! It cast a targeted dispel magic on Wren's flight, which got the mass fly affecting everyone. But that kicked in the stupid feather fall effect, so I didn't get to punish all of you. But Wren doubled up with overland flight too. As you begin to fall, you can all see the spider appear, hanging in mid-air in the room above.

Quick clarification; I made some edits in the first version of the post, as Wren pointed out a couple errors. You're now all safely on the floor, while Wren is flying 60 feet up, under the FLOOR of a 90-foot-tall room apparently filled with invisible webs that only Wren knows about. The access to the room above is through the hole in the floor that the Bone Stair leads through, though you can also fly through it. The spider is now visible, as I'm treating that as an attack.
The party is up
Vladlena |
Also I note that Lena is on her Broom of flying, as she uses that instead of the Mass fly.
Seeing the dispel hit the party, and Wren rabbit away, as usual, Lena reacts nearly instinctively, speaking in tongues that emulated flames. She moves five feet lower while doing this

He has both his swords out and tries to interpose himself between the spider and the female members of the party.

Casting Burst of Brilliance in the area Wren indicates. With a 10-foot radius, I am hoping that a close enough miss will still hit, but that's up to you, oh beneficent GM.

Wren's spell meanwhile creates a shimmering web of lights throughout the lower part of the room, which you realize would catch you if you go very far in. It also illuminates a monstrous spider, which lets out a screech and begins climbing higher into the room, moving up 20 feet, before waving its legs again -- and causing Wren's spell to suddenly end. It got a 28 on its dispel check, which I believe is enough to affect Wren's spell unless you have someway to boost your Caster Level.

Whiskey and Adder continue climbing the bone staircase, reaching the entrance to the room above as Bronin leads the way into the room with Elena on his fly behind him. It's hard going through the webs I'm going to treat it as difficult terrain, since Bronin is free, but having to cut the webs off everything else but they make some progress.
Above them, they can see the spider outlined in Wren's spell, which gives Lena a chance to open fire on it, fiery blasts hitting it hard -- though the webs give it enough cover to avoid one of the beams. Unfortunately, that's not enough to kill it, and it seems to pull a strand of the webs and blades that you hadn't noticed suddenly start swinging across the bottom of the room. Bronin's armor holds firm, but Elena and the pegasus aren't so lucky 20 hp to both of them.
The spider, meanwhile, seems to rear back one of its arms and tosses a ball of webbing toward Bronin. It hits with a painful thump 9 hp.

The blades are a trap that covers a 40-foot square in the bottom of the room. The blades are continuing to swing (though you can't tell how long they will continue to swing for). Anyone in that square at the end of their turn -- and remember the webs will slow things down -- risks getting hit. Elena and Bronin are in the upper room; everyone else is basically right below the floor.

Bronin continues upward. He tries his best to cut the webs, but there are just so many of them!
Of course we'd get caught in the blade trap as we are trying to avoid the web trap! Vestal Lena! Heal yourself or drink a potion I have on my belt, those blades will probably slice us up some more.
I imagine we are still in the trap this round and possibly out next round. My full action is helping the fly move upward. @Gm, please move me as far as the pegasus movement in "rough terrain" will allow.

As you look around, you don't find anything else of note in here, and continue upward, following the Bone Stair. It ascends onto a balcony clinging to Gallowspire’s sides before continuing its spiral around the rising tower. Cold, hard rain pelts down onto the exposed parapet, and the howls of the dead echo from the dark stone of the tower’s walls. Despite the rain, pale blue fire glows brightly in four huge braziers at each corner of the balcony, casting eerie shadows that seem to move and shift as if possessed of their own free will.
Despite your immediate worries, the flames seem to be nothing more than they appear, and you continue upward. The outer sheath of Gallowspire falls away, leaving the main core of the tower to rise alone to dizzying heights, the undulating stair of yellowed bone still encircling its sharp and bladed exterior.
You're now outside the tower, and now if you fly too far from the Bone Stair, you'll likely face some of the horrible phantoms that continue to swirl around the exterior. The stairs reenter the tower 170 feet up. I think only Bronin/Elena, Wren and Lena are flying currently.
