Raging Vitality:
Whenever you are raging, the morale bonus to your Constitution increases by +2. Your rage does not end if you become unconscious. While unconscious you must still expend rounds of rage per day each round.

Remove Blindness is a 3rd level witch spell. You should be able to learn and cast it.

If it helps for now... remember you can touch to deliver targeted spells while blinded.

Do not overthink it good sir! I think that it is how its supposed to be. Single creature encounter with all the party winning initiative on a creature with no special defenses. And aside from Yavenee I think all of our characters have evolved to be big damage dealers. On the other side we lack a lot on defense, and I fear we are going to suffer a lot against big casters.

I don't think our damage is that significant. We had to use Teleport AND Haste AND Sunday had to successfully CH to do that damage output. Granted, Valonia hadn't actually stepped into combat yet but still.
Worth noting (and remembering) as well that Outflank would have given anyone flanking along with Sunday a free AoO as well (assuming he accepted Rage Song)

Being down a cleric hurts though, but I think we can manage.

I wasn't complaining, it was more of an amazement really. If you are able to put out that damage, then yes, the enemies are going to be able to put out a bigger amount as well.

There was a mass shooting around where I live and work. I'm fine, but my activity might dip over the next few days or so as I might get called into work to handle some overtime as our department occasionally steps in to handle crisis efforts.

Hey guys! Can you believe it's been longer than three years since I've taken over? I literally thought it almost two years, ha! Where does the time go?

Anyway, I just wanted to reach out to everyone because the game has been dragging on recently. Maybe it's dragging on me because my other games are posting at a much faster pace than this one, or maybe its the fact that this one feels very disconnected for some reason. I dunno!

How is everyone else feeling? I know we talked awhile ago and said we'd reconnect after Rannick, but I pushed us through that and a few more chapters to get us to the end of the book. Well, we're here now - this is the last dungeon in this chapter of book three. I committed to seeing us through this book, and I intend to fulfill that. The question is, what happens afterwards?

I feel like I've tried to keep us going, but it's feeling a lot like an uphill battle. I'm not sure if my GMing style doesn't mesh well your guys play style or if it's something else I can't figure out.

If the interest has waned and this is more of an exercise or work than it is fun, we can drop it right here. We are all multi-year veterans of the Paizo forums and understand things happen, there is no hard feelings from my side at all.

I can fast forward to get us to main content of this dungeon and skip the trivial encounters so we can wrap it up, tie a bow around it and say you guys played through three full books.

If everyone is all of the sudden quite interested in reinvigorating the campaign then we can run the rest of the book as planned. At our current posting rate this would take us several months to accomplish.

Talk to me, please! We've been together long enough that I want your honest thoughts and feedback on the matter. As your GM I stepped in to take over, I was the new guy. But now I've been here twice as long as any of your previous GM's and I feel comfortable saying that it's my game instead of theirs at this point.

I am still very committed to this game, the only reason I don't post more often is because of time being less readily available since I changed jobs two years ago tomorrow...holy crap it's two years tomorrow! i can't reliably post from work and when I can post I can't always look things up that I need to. Having said that i would dearly love to see this to completion but I understand if others would prefer differently.

I think it might help to speed through the dungeon crawls a fair bit. I'm not saying skip them completely but maybe bypass most/some of the encounters. It seems like these always are the points where we really get slowed down at.

I'm definitely all for continuing on. As a caster, my options are currently a bit limited with silence emanating from the combat.

I've been going through a whole lot lately, so I'm sorry if my posting has been negligent, I'll work on doing better. And yeah, I've yet to see a dungeon crawl not lag in PBP

I'm still happy to continue on. Agree with the others that dungeon crawls are the biggest lull in PbP games. I know that Rise of the Runelords kinda has these, but they do tend to slow things down.

This current fight is a little grindy as as I said earlier, Silence really cripples me as well, since Skalds rely heavily on Raging Song to handle themselves in combat.

The AC 12 (or 17 for that matter) is a known issue, I did already point out the lack of attention to equipment a year ago and how it would become more problematic as we advance, but rather than improving it has gone worse. Now he has yet to apply the last level up to his profile stats after 2 months.

We just have to assume this is a slow paced game. At good times we are doing a round of combat or party decision each 3-4 days. It makes feeling attached to the AP and characters more difficult, but if attention is put when we get to post, I believe it is still possible to have a pleasing campaign anyway, as long as the GM keeps pushing the action of course.

What I think is really taking ShadowLord back the most is the lack of a rich inter party interaction. Now, I could cite many things on that regard, like loose motivations on the plot from our characters, continuous character rotation, the unstructured linking of the different parts of this Book, or the too much hidden undergoing plot, but I do think it is in the end a problem of our personalities not mingling properly, either character or player personalities I don't know, but after 3 books we keep failing to build up any kind of friendship between our characters.

I don't think dungeon crawling is an issue here. On the contrary, we have not been in anything considerable as a dungeon since we finished Fort Rannick a year ago. I think it is lack of commitment from us, the players, either by lack of appeal, time, skill or compatibility.

I am committed to keep pushing the game as much as possible for Delendir hands, and to keep updating the loot sheet and trying to bring up topics to talk about. But as a matter of preference, I would prefer to wrap things up at the end of this book and get some sense of accomplishment, rather than letting things swamp to a crawling death at the middle of the next one.

And yeah the lack of inter-party interaction is playing a part.

There's been quite a bit of it recently, but you're right that the constant replacement of characters does keep hitting reset on character interaction.

It's definitely something to work on, though most of the best character interaction comes during downtime, rest, watch, stuff like that. If nothing happens until third watch, the first and second watch groups can still get a couple of posts in to bond.

So while I agree that typically dungeon crawls are a slog in PbP, I actually find that our group does better in them than out of them. Posts are primarily coming from combat actions when people are up and there is a general lack of posts from character interaction and development outside of combat. I feel like when I leave space for that there is no activity and I have to dive back in to push the game forward. That type of player on player roleplay seems to be lacking for whatever reason, I'm not insinuating that there is fault that needs to be assigned to someone.

Life gets busy and it's harder to find time to make quality posts so you simply make the required post when it's your turn with minimal investment. I get it, I play characters on the board as well and I know exactly what it can feel like.

For now I intend to push us through to the close of this book and we'll see how things play out these next few months. If things are more or less the same at that point, like Delendir says it may be best to wrap things up and close it down. By no means am I saying I don't want to run this game any more, I'm just letting you know that the feeling has been pretty blah recently. If we're not just going through the motions and things change however, I'm not opposed to continuing on at all. It's very, very hard to get games into the fourth book in PbP and I don't want to discount that fact. Years into a game you are expected to encounter hurdles like this.
