Yep, I enjoy them. Sometimes I don't get to them right away (especially as I often post from work), but I always make a point to go back and check them out. The soundtrack is always very thematic.
I like Aduard's approach. I'm going to have to try that.
Aduard Bookman |
Have fun :)
I'm good for a scene change and to head to Morast. Not sure we need to rp through hiring a secretary and giving a list of tasks. Seems like it might be a bit too much like my work ;)
If there's a way to go there which let's Aduard get some sleep, he'll take it - even if it isn't a full 8 hours. Boat would be best. I suspect a carriage might work, but probably not count 1:1. Horseriding obviously doesn't work.
Arruk Karras |
Work is giving me a kicking at the moment. I'm probably not able to post before Friday, so bot me as needed.
Arruk Karras |
Uh oh. I haven't been keeping up with it. Brogol had the cursed hand ax and that was about it, iirc.
Doc has no loot from the adventure.
Arruk Karras |
OK, I updated the sheet with the latest loot. I wasn't sure where the gold should go so I just put it on the loot list.
Greatsword, keen edge to Radag? Bodybalm to Esta? Ghost sound to Aduard or sell?
Aduard, do you want my gun for this island? Doc will load it for you, just point and pull the trigger.
Aduard Bookman |
Thanks @Arruk!
Don't take Aduard's whining too much to heart, he's very conservative. If you push him he has three attack spells, a floating +4CL and hero points. He doesn't have defences, and he's down to using spell slots he tries to keep free. He's not going to be an amazing combatant, but he's not too badly off.
@GM ROBOGEISHA
I know Radag did a bunch of work - not sure if he used a different spreadsheet. If we end up having to go back through posts I suggest
(A) If Radag's posts are as up to date as I think, just use his for everything up to Embreth.
(B) Pick a gp limit, maybe a few special items, just hand out that and we start going again.
Either way, from now on how about whenever we find loot someone records it in the spreadsheet and posts to discussion?
GM R0B0GEISHA |
Apologies for the somewhat unorthodox 'spoilers-only' state of the gameplay thread. I want the investigation to feel more like your characters are piecing it together than me pointing you in a specific direction.
On a similar note, I've added a "Clues" tab to the Loot List. I think that I've updated it with everything you've uncovered so far, but if I've forgotten anything, please feel free to edit.

Hi All,
Sorry I've been absent, had a pet die last week and then a job interview yesterday, so life's been pretty hectic. I'll get caught up now...
Arruk Karras |
Hi all, my sincere apologies for the absence. A combination of traveling for the holidays, sickness running through my family, and a second interview in San Diego this coming Wednesday (and the associated prep - academic interviews are one or two day marathons) has left me stressed for time.
I plan on being back in action on Thursday or Friday. Please bot as needed.
Radag Irefist |
I've been travelling for work and originally thought I'd be able to keep up, but I'm finding little time for keeping up. Please bare with my lulled activity a couple more days and then things should be back to normal.
Arruk Karras |
My brother looooooooooooooovvvvvvvvveeeeeees Red Dead 2. I don't have a console so I haven't been able to play it yet.
I take it you're enjoying it, R0B0?
GM R0B0GEISHA |
Ugh, sorry it took so long for me to get back to this. Yes, I'm really enjoying it. It's slow, but it's easily the most detailed world I've experienced in a video game, so the slow pace lets me drink it all in. I'm also a big fan of Westerns, so...
On a different note, we have new scene music at the top of the campaign!
Arruk Karras |
Hehe no worries. I'm a big fan of westerns too.
I'm headed to Colombia for the holidays and will be back 1/3. I expect to have wifi, but posting may be spotty. Please bot as needed.
Arruk Karras |
I lived down there for a couple of years, and have a Colombian "family" that took me in when I was down there.
I'm a midwesterner too, and was back in MO this past Thanksgiving. I found out I've acclimated to the weather in Texas ;)
Also, I got my dates wrong - I'm back 1/4.
Aduard Bookman |
It's really good - thank you :)
I like the breaking it up into sections!
Hmmm. Aduard has knowledges and some social skills, but he actually failed every perception check on the island. I'd be tempted to either suggest the doctor (going for learnedness) or Esta (going for appeal). I'd like to use Esta to undermine the "the beast is dangerous" argument.
I'm also a bit worried we don't have a coherent story - I'm hoping Adivion can work it into a counter theory.
Esta Vyrelian |
I like the long post. I really enjoy descriptive narratives. :)
And I'd be willing to do that, unless Karras wants to do it instead.
Arruk Karras |
I think that the only story we have is that Adam was never in Morast - though we never asked him if he was, if I recall correctly :/
We can throw some doubt into the prosecution with the blood caiman wound - or lack thereof, on Adam's body. Everything else is theory. Isn't our narrative that there's a necromancer on the loose, who is/was using Morast's island and cemetery for his nefarious ends, and as such may have other creations like Adam out there, including the one that plagued Morast and was killed by the gator?
Am I missing anything?
It is flimsy. Hopefully some more evidence will present itself over the next couple of days.
Any yes, that post was most excellent, GM!
GM R0B0GEISHA |
You're not missing anything, FC. All the evidence you've gathered up to this point suggests that at some point in the past, the island was occupied by likely graverobbers—the empty graves, tools, and campsite—and that it wasn't Adam—the extract of darkvision.
Also the Beast that was driven into the swamp couldn't be Adam, because Adam doesn't have scarring from a blood caimin.
Arruk Karras |
Ah yes, I forgot about the darkvision vial. Thanks for the reminder, GM!
Aduard Bookman |
I'm okay with the focus, if we rotate.
Otherwise, I'm okay with the group being called as a 'composite' witness to prevent having to recall members.
Radag Irefist |
I agree that the focus is good, giving Karras a moment to give his version of the account and expressing it. True, it might seem like it slows things down a bit, but I'm enjoying how everything is coming together. That being said, I'm pretty easy going when it comes to play styles and can go either way on it.
Arruk Karras |
I'm in Mexico City this week but anticipate being able to post regularly until Friday.
But, given the vagaries of travel, internet connectivity etc., I would feel better about everyone being involved!
Arruk Karras |
Just so I remember correctly, we are not mentioning our relationship with the one judge, right?
