Alright; been thinking about ghosts.

I was going to see about getting the doctor a lesser restoration, but have just realised we have had a wand and a scroll this whole time!

Who has the badge, please? I think it is Esta, and a lesser ectoplasmic rod might be pretty handy if we're about to hit spooksville!

As I said before, I've switched Aduard to a new set of spells, for ghosts.
At will—Light, Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Disrupt undead
1st—Magic Missile, Magic Missile, Mage Armour, Magic Weapon, Mage Armour
2nd—False Life, Bestow Insight, BLANK

Not sure if disrupt undead works on ghosts, but here's hoping. @GM ROBOGEISHA?
He still has Magic Weapon - though as Radag has a magic mace it is likely this is going to end up on the doctor's pepperbox.
2 Mage Armours - I remember Esta has one as well. Some ghosts can ignore normal armour, so even our more armoured members may want a dash.
2 Magic Missiles (and hope not to need another one).


Disrupt undead affects ghosts, since they're considered undead.

Am I missing something?

Doesn't explicitly call out that it effects incorporeal fully, which means it is halved (like acid).
Makes no sense to me - a ray of positive energy isn't an environmental effect like fire or acid - but I believe only force is called out as being of full effect against the incorporeal.
Even so, 1d6 halved is as good as 1d3, I suppose.

Yeah, I did a little research into it and it does seem like an oversight.

I'll rule that Disrupt Undead does full damage to all undead, incorporeal or not.

Mage armor probably wont stack with Radag's current armor so someone else should probably take that.

It won't; but if you get attacked by something incorporeal Mage Armour will work, and I do not think normal armour will.

On another note, I've been sucked into Conan Survivors which came out on PS4 prime this month, or was it last month? The game is hitting all the right solo adventuring buttons for me and Ive been putting more hours than would be considered reasonable into playing it. None of this matters so far as to say if anyone else here has said game too, let me know cause it would be fun to play online with people that aren't trying to kill me.


I'm tempted to try it out. I've some experience with survival games but the few PVP ones that I've tried are usually pretty awful experiences. Is it hard to make a go of it on your own?

Not hard at all once you get the hang of it. All Dungeons, bosses and legendary creatures can be killed solo with the right preparation. Grouping up just means being able to take on greater challenges at earlier equipment and character levels.

You can opt for player vs environment servers, restricted pvp servers, or run your own solo/co-op server if PVP isnt your thing. PVP just adds a lot of exciting drama for me personally, but I dont absoluyely need it. The game does have a number of buggy issues but the low magic setting, exploration, building and adventure keep me engaged. Let me know if you spring for it and we can talk at each other while stabbing and building stuff.

For now, we'll continue playing as though he were returning. I gave Dashil the same treatment, considering my own hiatus from this game.

Also, I know the conversation with the sisters hinted that the children of Hergstag became wraithspawn, but I like the concept of attic whisperers more.

Also, how annoying would six separate incorporeal encounters be?

Hi All,

I'm very sorry that I dropped off the face of the earth (and even moreso now that I realize my last post was about being sick - ugh). I've had a hell of a last couple of months.

Trials and travails:
I got knocked down and out and immediately had to leave to present at a conference while still convalescing. Then I got home and found out I had a proposal for a book chapter accepted (some good news), with a draft now due August 4th (got moved back and the chapter is almost there, some more good news). On the other hand, I also lost a very important employee at work, and have had to pick up the slack while we fill that position, which never goes quickly in academia. And to top everything off, we had our first offer on our house sale for our Texas home fall through, and a second offer find a problem with our roof that cost a lot of money and time, and built a lot of stress. We had to reconfigure our finances and take a loss on our home, which set my wife and I back significantly and caused discord in our relationship.

I kept intending to get back to Paizo, but things kept snowballing, and it became harder and harder to do so, and I felt worse and worse about ghosting, which in turn made it harder and harder to come back the more I felt worse about it. I've come to realize that people who ghost on things - commitments, jobs, whatever - may often feel like they're drowning in stress and responsibility. At least I did.

So I'm back to apologize to everyone I've gamed with, because I value the relationships that I've formed here.

Again, my sincere apologies.


Welcome back! I completely understand the stress of returning after ghosting on a game, but I'm just pleased you're okay. After you dropped off the map with the illness, I feared the worst.

I'm so happy to hear from you! I also feared the worst after you said you were sick, so I'm really glad to hear otherwise. I'm sorry things have been such a roller coaster for you lately, and I also understand how hard it is to come back to something when you've been gone because of real life responsibilities. I hope you're back for good, but if not, I get it.

You're certainly welcome to return! It would be hypocritical of me to deny you some leeway with disappearing considering my own history with this game.

With FC back, I think I will wait on recruitment for a bit — maybe to revisit when the party is back in Lepidstadt. It was always going to be a stretch on how you'd meet somebody in this literal ghost town anyways.
