Yeah, that's certainly handy! If I had a smart phone that'd probably make sense to do. I generally just use my computer/laptop, and only use my iPad when traveling, so I mostly use dropbox/gdrive to pass stuff around as needed, and usually rely on memory for to-do lists and the like, which mostly works :p

Dretches are the worst.
I've never thought about Google docs... but our router at work is kind of dumb and will start acting up in regards to Google on occasion. I -do- like the Google list of things to do idea.
Oh my goodness, Isilme! I thought I was the only person on earth without a smart phone!

Hahaha.
I don't think my job is possible without a smart phone, or at least a tablet. :P
Though I have wowed older professionals with tech before. Have someone ask a question about a study or whatever while we're out rounding and me be like - "One sec, I have it saved on google drive. *BLAM* Instant knowledge!"
They're always like - no way you can do that?
I'm always like pffftt, I can have all the knowledge at my fingertips at all times, so I do, duh.

Google Docs is the only thing that keeps all of my school work in one place. And it lets me work on my personal computer and print things off the school network.

Home with PJs, two medium sized slices of red velvet cake (I didn't want a big piece...) and a comfortable bed. Let's do this.

I keep lots of papers available on my iPad for work for that reason. I also use it as my lab notebook, although it's still not perfect in that respect. It's pretty convenient for looking up/reading papers though!
Ary: Glad to hear you share that too! I've been wondering the same thing myself ;)
As far as smart phones go, I've always just considered them sub-par computers, and I've got access to a computer roughly 95% of the time. I use my wife's phone from time to time, so I know they've come a long way however. One of these years I'll probably break down and get one, likely when they stop offering dirt-cheap bottom-line phones that I can get for 'free' when my previous phone dies. ;p
Going home from work (for the last time!), later!
GM Kiora |
Well, they are weak computers, but if all you need to do is open a pdf or perform a calculation, they're more convenient than opening up a laptop at a patient's bedside ;)
Though if a patient is present I prefer the tablet, because sometimes patients assume you're texting or facebooking or something haha. With the big screen on the tablet they can tell what you're doing :P

I'm with Isilme on the smartphones - my phone is still pretty dumb, and it's survived 3 years of abuse.
I don't need the kinds of distractions that come from always having the internet at my beck and call.

A home stands in an empty field.
Four walls, fallen, chimney stands tall.
Amidst a grove that is but a ruined echo,
Time marches on,
Until everywhere we have been becomes a place we can never return.
We move forward in ways we do not understand for reasons we can not comprehend.
We go through the motions, day by day,
Casually discarding seconds, minutes, hours, leaving behind a trail of breadcrumbs to nowhere.
We hope for tomorrow to be better,
For this moment to last forever,
To make it through one more day.
But what is time beyond fleeting?
We move through today, into tomorrow, into forever, until everywhere we've been becomes one more place we can never return.
:) Seems fitting, no?
What Markus said, too. If I had a smart phone... data charges apply. :|
Valaria Alazario |
I'm practically giddy. Things are going to be fun~

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS MEANS!!!
Also, were you including my favored terrain bonus earlier? :P
I completely forgot I have favored terrain. :|
GM Kiora |
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS MEANS!!!
Oh? You're in for a treat, then.
No, the terrain there was Mountain (because that includes Hills). The terrain down with the vermleks was considered a swamp.
The forests are all in the eastern side of Mendev. There's a few forests in the Worldwound, though.
Isilme |
Ary, I love it, it really captures the feelings I've been having the past week or so.
Kiora: Yeah, tablet is good for that, and it's a use that doesn't overlap with the role I see computers filling. If I could just find a stylus that doesn't stink I'd really be sold on the tablet-as-notebook thing. There's a new WACOM one that's electronic that's supposed to be much more precise, may give that a try in the near future.
I'm excited to see how our first venture into the worldwound goes : )
Off to dinner, back later!

Ary is thinking cure serious for Isilme cause she's blazingly fast. Likewise, the barkskin for her and Hina because Hina, in theory, will be dealing with the heavy, and because Isilme is -not- tanky.
Hina should also have the big potion in case she needs it. Also. She'll likely look quite vulnerable compared to everyone else with her lack of armor and such.
Can Annabelle use potions?
If an enemy is charging and Ary shield slams them and her bull rush takes effect, what happens?
I wrote it when Ary and I were somewhat in sync. Driving to the hospital to see my mom each day, and having guilt trips laid on me for leaving, being able to leave, not wanting to be there, etc... while driving past the place I lived when I was most happy was a bit heartbreaking. 'Driving past good memories to make new bad ones.'
Man, I'm an emokid.
Regardless, with luck, you'll start right off with good memories. :)
GM Kiora |

1. Yes. They're magic, not drugs ;)
2. The shield slam would happen first, it'd interrupt the charge and bounce them off however far you rolled. They'd lose their action, pretty much, unless they had a swift/free to do.
Markus Coffinborn |
Annabelle is an undead and thus can only be healed by inflict spells and is harmed by cure spells.
She is immune to mind-affecting things so something like a potion of bless wouldn't work... but barkskin would.
Ary Bishop |
Yup. But I knew she couldn't eat food or drink wine, and wanted to double check that she -could- use a barkskin or shield of faith if she chose to do so. :)
GM Kiora |
She is immune to mind-affecting things so something like a potion of bless wouldn't work... but barkskin would.
Yes.
Though, only spells with a range of touch can be brewed into potions.
Though I have caught potions that don't in official Paizo stuff before. Such as that potion of silence you guys had earlier.

The only restriction on what can/cannot be a potion is that it can't have a range of personal, IIRC. A potion of good hope is on the sample potion table, for example.
Since the drinker of a potion is both the caster and the target, I was under the impression that Isilme would have had an emanation of silence around her, which in hindsight, would have totally screwed that entire scenario over for us. :/
Ary Bishop |
But it would have worked -amazingly- for howlers! :)
Isilme |
It would have! But I have countersong now, which is even better against howlers : )

So, for my lack of posting for 24h I will be posting at least twice more tonight! Why do I write this here, before putting down things usually gives the necessary motivation to do it!
Also, sorry for the delay, many unexpected things lasted much longer than they should have!
On the topic of phones and technology, I am almost a dinosaur, my wife makes fun of me for being barely proficient with her smart phone.

Does a Brimorak Breaker Barbarian with Body Bludgeon get to set a dead gnome on fire and gain bonus damage when he wields it against you?

How is us talking going to be interpreted amongst the group? Are we hearing the other people respond, or should we put our stuff in spoilers or?

Side note: Despite being a little underwhelmed with the level of care that went into Occult Adventures... I really, really want occult origins now.
Also, as confusing as Ghostrider is, the cavalier order from that book is spectacular. How well would Order of the Eastern Star fit into an Iron Gods campaign?
Ary Bishop |
Without too many spoilers... are aberrations common? Cause I totally consider aberrations to be occult. have you fricking seen akata?

Alrighty! Thanks!
Sort of a shame, because I really need to play something that uses this picture. :P
And an Android Cavalier fits it really well, in my mind.
