WTF?!?!

Umm..send my prayers and all of that to the family. The GM is a nice person, who was willing to take on the task of this 1-12 level endeavor.

As far as the scenario, it is 4-4. “The Storval Stairs”. If you cannot find a GM, can we just get it ruled that the scerio is completed cause we are on the final encounter anyways? Saves the hassle for all involved. I can “fake” some chronicles if that be the case?

That is so awful. I like him a great deal. What a loss for all of us, and most especially for his family.

I'm very moved. I never knew him personally but he was my very first PbP GM (when I joined this campaign, in fact). I've been playing in one or more campaigns with him for just over four years now. It feels like losing a personal friend. Even if he were to never return here, I dearly hope he somehow beats the odds and comes back from the coma. I will say prayers for him and for his family.

Oh man. That was shocking to read. I just recently joined this campaign and it has been my favorite run since playing pbp. Harker was running a truly great game and, though I never spoke or contacted him outside of this board, seemed to be a genuinely nice guy. Thank you for letting us know Redelia and please let his family know that I am sorry for their tragedy and only hope for the best possible outcome for Harker and his family. I would also like to just say thank you to Harker for working so hard so that all of us in his game had an enjoyable experience when we logged on.

So not what I was expecting when I hit this thread today...

Let his family know he was very appreciated as a person in this games. I am very sorry for their tragedy. Even if little, I hope there is one chance he gets out of the comma and in good health.

As for the game... I personally do not feel the heart to continue with this campaign without him... I would prefer the game is just left in halt, it would not make it justice for anyone else to pick up his work...

My heart goes out the family. I agree to retire this in his name. I was here from the beginning and he was such a good person. He kept the games fun and enjoyable. I hope he rolls some great dice wherever he is at up there.

I will wait personally, but I cannot speak for the others. My vote would be to report the scenario (thank you for allowing it and whomever made the decision). I may retire Valik afterwards as a tribute to our DM.

So terribly sad. My heart goes out to Justin's family. What a truly terrible loss for our community. Harker was a prime example of what a special group of people populate these boards. Willing to give his time to make sure other people enjoyed a game we all love. He was only in my life for a brief amount of time all thing considered and though I did not know him personally I will indeed miss him in my life. I have really enjoyed this board over the last year. Thank you Harker, your time and effort made my life better.

I concur with the thoughts of Valik and Vailis. In honor of Harker, this campaign should end. Red, thank you for offering to report this game and issue chronicles and that would be my vote complete this game. Thank you for keeping us informed as well. I very much appreciate your efforts as well.

As to my fellow players on this board, thank you all as well. I truly enjoyed my games with all of you. Hopping on this board to make my post was very often one of the highlights of my day and something a looked forward to every day. I hope to adventure with all of you again someday. Thank you for putting up with Heccan's haughtiness and indulging my character's quirks and arcs. When I say that this community is special, you all are a big reason of why I say it. Just a suggestion: Perhaps instead of giving up on him outright, you could take the occasion for Valik to take a "dark turn" of sorts, and retrain one of your Archetypes as proof of his profound change (Ki Mystic could be replaced with Black Asp, Spirit Master, Hungry Ghost Monk, or even Scarred Monk all without interfering with Sensei, or you could even take a "total fall" one one or another type as a Martial Artist or Sin Monk)?

Bummer. Why's it never the ones who deserve it? If I were Pharasma (or Whomever), I should bloody-well get a new dartboard and throw the one I'd been using these past 4-ish years AWAY...

Faction Objective: May I "serve as mentor" (as per Liberty's Edge, Season 6) to the tortured captive we used the heal scroll on (especially since I was the one to insist on it being used for him)? I spend 2 Prestige for him if so - and that'll make my very first fully-completed Faction Objective card!

Valik, unfortunately there's no way to mark a character as retired, only as dead. I can do this if you would like, but there's no way to undo it. Please let me know what you want me to do about this.

Also, if you want the character marked dead, do you want them to die in the narrative summary? If that is what would be most meaningful, I can do so.

I now have the information I need for chronicles and reporting for three characters, as well as the PFS number for your GM. I'll wait a bit more to hear from the others, if they're OK with this solution.

I understand completely that some of you are having trouble making decisions or dealing with the business side of this, and that is fine. I just would like to take care of the business side before everyone's attention goes to other things. That is the way I've come up with that I can show my respect.

I would be glad to add the rest to the reporting and make you chronicles, also, if you want. If not, don't worry about it; this is a special circumstance, so I'm not going to insist that everyone must take credit.

I gave a quick narrative end. It seemed that keeping it very brief was the best way to respect your wishes to let the campaign end out of respect for GM Harker, while still bringing the story to an end.

At this point, I am not going to be continuing to check on this campaign, but please send me a private message if there is anything I can do to help you.

It will be several months before this campaign goes inactive on its own, so if you wish to remove it from your campaign list, you will need to hide it. PM me if you need instructions on how to do this.

I also want to express my sympathy for your loss. Someone who you game with online for years can certainly be a friend, even if you never met in person. Our community is poorer for the loss of GM Harker.

Wow, that really is sad! He was not my first PbP GM, but one of the first. And yes, he was definitely my favorite. He was so tolerant of our quirks/absences. And he was very patient as I slowly learned the mechanics of a magus.

He planned to take a single group of characters through all of season 4. Even though it was just PbP, this thread gave me a sense of home and family, like a regular face-to-face gaming group. I'm going to miss him.

Please post the exact text of the condition you want to check on? I don't think I have access to the season 6 cards. Also, please post a link to any posts in gameplay I should look at.

Serve as a mentor to a named NPC slave whom you freed, effectively training him or her to join your faction. Doing so

requires you to purchase a follower vanity (Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Pathfinder Society Field Guide 60 or Pathfinder
Player Companion: Pathfinder Society Primer 28 for options) and have your protégé serve as the follower. As an additional
follower option, the freed slave can be an Assistant who can automatically succeed at the aid another action once per
game session to assist you in combat or on a skill check; this follower type costs 2 Prestige Points.

I have just printed my Chronicle, and thereby noticed that this just so happened to be Scenario #4-04.

They kind of lost an opportunity, here; instead of an epic battle against Evil for a staircase, it should have been more of a "fetch the trinket" adventure that ends bittersweetly when the party discovers that their long-sought prize is nowhere to be found....

Apologies for jumping in here gang - I'm a fellow player who was also in another game with Justin/Harker.

I've set up this thread asking about the potential of an "In-Memoriam" section of the website where members of our community who have passed away can be remembered.

Not sure if this is something that strikes a cord with any of you, but if so - any support of this would be appreciated.

How do we turn the lights out on this thread?

You can do three things.

1. Wait. After a certain length of time (I think it's about 3 months) of no one posting in gameplay, a thread gets treated as inactive.

2. 'Hide' the campaign. Send me a PM if you need instructions for how to do this.

3. Ask customer service to mark the campaign as inactive.
