I apologize - I've been slammed at work all week and it is all coming to a head tomorrow, so the slamming will continue until tomorrow evening (Central US time). Sorry for my extended, unexcused, unexplained absence. I have been feeling burnt out. But not specifically on my games; feeling burnt out on pretty much all of my normal routines. I'm taking steps to snap out of it over the next few days and I hope to resume posting soon.

Just a heads up in case you haven't already seen it: Paizo has started another Humble Bundle deal. PDFs of a couple of dozen 1st edition splatbooks from the Campaign Setting and Player Companion lines with the theme of "Monster Lore," including the hardcover compilation of Book of the Damned. There's some good stuff here for a great price, if you don't already have it all.
Already grabbed it! I was just looking at buying the Monster Summoner's book the other day, and glad I didn't as that was at least 1/3 the cost of the whole bundle.

Silas, so sorry to see you go, but I am certainly familiar with the ups and downs of life and it's affect on long term gaming, so I wish you well and hope you find the balance you need.
For everyone else, I think we have stalled - doesn't help that my last post was written as if in character... it should not have been bold and quoted. I don't know what had me distracted, but there have been many possibilities lately.
Anyway, at this point, we are waiting for those other than Miculaie to make perception checks to wake up and react. Since no one has (probably wan't very clear), I will make the rolls now.
TBF, I've also been really distracted--family and work have been taking up a lot of time, so I haven't pushed in any of the campaigns that were already moving slowly.

I'm still really burnt out. I'm hoping it will pass, but this is still less important to me than getting some other things in my life sorted (hopefully those things will make play by post easier for me also).

After some consideration I have decided I need to take an indefinite hiatus from nearly all of my games. Please continue without me. If that means there is not a spot for me when I return, I will understand. You can bot me or just remove me from scenes as you see fit; whatever is best for the party. If my PC dies due to botting decisions I will not be too aggrieved.
My energy levels are just too low and my burnout and disinterest is just too high. I need to be able to focus on taking care of myself without pressure from myself to return to my games. Things will probably get better once I get into a habit of regular exercise, which could be as soon as a few weeks from now.
Don't worry about me, though. I am doing okay. I live with my wife and 3 kids and that helps keep me from being totally dejected. Taking care of them, spending time with them, etc. Continues to bring a lot of meaning and purpose to me life. I also talk to a therapist every two weeks and have some other friends I keep in touch with.

Hello everyone, I am going to need a week to recover from everything that is going on in my life. My husband's beloved grandmother had an aneurysm Friday afternoon, where we all expected her to pass, due to the fact that she was in acoma for over 48 hours and was not passing any of the test that the doctors and nurses were preforming. On their way to remove the respirator this afternoon, she woke up and is able to wiggle both sets of toes, follow commands and look both ways as well recognize her husband and daughter. We are waiting on surgery which will be performed tomorrow morning to see how optimistic we should be.
In addition to this emotional whiplash, my car was broken into this weekend, and while only a small amount of coin was taken, it was just another scoop on a s&~@ sundae that I did not need.

So Tara, Sophie and Silas are out - although I think Tara will return soon. This AP seems to be more of a Scooby doo adventure - open sandbox looking for clues. So from that perspective, you don't really need more players that bad... although some fresh interest might help.
What do you all want to do? Know anyone that wants to jump in?
I think we can keep going, botting all three in the short term, and keep our eyes open for anyone else who might be interested.

Regarding the possession, it is hard to say. There is very little information on the mechanism used, and none on how to end it - which is weird since it does mention "if the party drives out the spirit"... so give me you best shot and we'll see what makes sense. Again, this is one of those very interesting parts of the AP that is unlikely to ever get explained to the players. I like the backstory, but don't like that the players miss out, so I will try to find a way to introduce more of the story somehow.
Meanwhile, possessed or not, you seem to be out of harm's way.
... Protection from evil? Does anyone have that prepared currently? I do think holding a recruitment thread for at least 2 players might be helpful.
Hello, I am back; We are still in a holding pattern where news fluctuates from stable and fine to she only has a day left to live, all in the same 24 hours.
Pontia doesn't have prot/evil prepared, but she has an open slot for it and the Fast Study arcane discovery--she can prepare it in a minute.

On PvE - that makes sense to me. I can’t think of anything more likely to work that we could manage (or that the writers would expect an 8th level party to have access to).
I just discovered that paizo published an alternate domain ability for the repose domain that was made specifically to remove possession in 2016, but I opted for the aoe deathward for 8 rounds a day. However since this AP was printed in 2011, I'm sure that the writers presumed we doing the regular murder-hobo route and never uncover the possession.
@everyone: thank you for the kind words and patience, Niculaie is correct in the draining aspect of this. Luckily she is at a top hospital for aneurysms and she appears to be currently stable, conscious and able to communicate.

I think at least one of the two, yes. Both would be fine, but we could also take one full martial and something else, although I think we do have pretty much all of the other classic party roles covered plus Niculaie as support.
Having looked at the two possible concepts being pitched in the recruitment thread, I would like to express my concern. Mostly as the cleric of Pharasma, I do not think that the Inquisitor of the whispering way seems like a poor choice for this AP and would cause unnecessary inner party conflicts.
Tara, I think that the character is a Pharasmin inquisitor whose duties draw them into conflict with the Whispering Way...at least, that's how I read it.
