Bill Lumberg |
"To be perfectly honest and frank, I don't wish you all luck."
"I wish you dire misfortune."
"For every head that rolls my chances of to survive the culling increase. It's nothing personal, but I wish myself luck and hope many of you fall prematurely once the list begins to cull itself and strike us off into a void of non-existence."
"Being reincarnated for a fourth recruitment of this game would drive me quite mad."
Clap, clap, clap!
Gwyndolin Maulsen |
Price discreetly slides a stack of gold Crowns and the thumb of a teenage girl across the table...
"Does this simplify your deliberations?"
"Bribery? Do you honestly wish to go that route?"
A petite girl plops a pouch full of coins down on the table, followed by several bracelets, another couple of pouches and a very nice looking dagger.
"That is how you bribe someone."
There gasps and shouts as several people realize that some of their valuables have gone missing. Your purse is also gone, and your clothes don't seem to be hanging right. It also seems to have gotten a bit draftier.
The simple looking dagger the girl is twirling might have something to do with the latter two problems, not that the girl would ever admit to it.
Talyon, The Talon |
By the time you turn around to see what the thumps on the table were, a blonde man is standing over the body of a petite girl, wiping the blood from his daggers. He gives you a half smile and shrug, before pushing the treasurers to your side of the table.
The glint of the girls dagger catches his eye, and he quickly grabs it " Nice dagger, could always use another blade" He then moves to the side, back against the wall, surveying the room.
Vladimir Velrusso |
The gaunt ashen skinned man brushes back his silver hair and arches his eyebrow at the ghostly figure before very simply stating "I don't mean to be rude, but I do believe not stealing his daggers was well....obviously your mistake. Apparently a quite...costly... one at that." with a smirk.
"A lesson well learned, perhaps with a little less attention paid to riffling through others pockets or shamelessly prostrating before the gods with feeble gifts and minor trinkets and a little more attention paid to the daggers at your back your misfortune may have been averted." he muses coldly as he leans his own back firmly against a stone wall and keeps careful eye on his comrades.
He nods respectfully towards Talon, "Competency should be rewarded and I do believe that nice dagger is sufficient. I complement you on a task well executed, but I would impart advice. If you wish to keep such bauble as well as your life expel any such thought of attempting the same towards me should it happen wander into your mind. Or see the bloodstained trinket fall from hers, to your, to mine."

Good luck to everyone and I look forward to reading another "Way of the Wicked" pbp.
I agree that there are great options to choose from.

Terran Khaine |
Exactly," Khaine says to Bea. "This is the problem with people in our line of work. They think that they have to conform to some ridiculous idea of mustache twirling evil." Khaine pulls out a dagger and cuts a long score onto his arm. "This is evil. I do not care about the pain. I do not care." Khaine grabs a random person from the tavern and brings him back to the wall against which he had previously leaned. He clamps his hand over the man's mouth and stabs him over and over again, he hand muffling the man's scream. "That is evil. My only regret is that I did not draw his death out longer. And that I only got...two silver out of it. Zon-Kuthon's pierced balls, two silver! He deserved to die."
Bea |
Beatrix grunts at the masochistic display. "You're as bad as they are, trying to show off. As if this is some kind of absurd contest to decide who's the most evil. Now we have to deal with the stench." And with that, she tosses her hair over her shoulder and steps over the body to find a new wall to occupy.

Thanks, Gary! Thanks also for writing an awesome adventure for us. :)
Black Jack |
By the Devil's trident, what a sad bunch of misfits. I guess I will have to make due if I want out...
Yo, people! Save those daggers for the guards. They are going to be here pretty soon and its not soup they bring.
Wait for the first few to die and steal a sword. You are not gona have a better chance out of this $&!@hole Jack, no your not.
...
Better die with a blade in hand.
Smiling.
Maybe you can even kill an old comrade or two.

Love the role playing, everyone. Thanks for being such a spirited group of supplicants...er, applicants.
Having seen that another Way of the Wicked AP has opened recruiting, I think I'll go ahead and announce the roster now. This way, those not selected can go ahead and apply for the other game, if desired.
Here are the five PCs...
Price
Gwyndolin Maulsen
Xanos
Kalina Jakes
Cain
Notorious villains all. With only five slots to fill, I had to sadly leave some other really good prospects by the wayside. I wish all of you the best, and offer my thanks for your interest.
Discussion thread goes live tomorrow!

Putting on my tinfoil hat tagged with a post-it that says "Tactical Jean-yus"... Xanos, can you channel positive energy?
I figure the good guys are not going to surrender immediately - if only to save face - so some healing for Team Evil might be in order. I'm happy to take CLW but I can only fire it off twice a day.

Arrrrrgh, all that work for naught! And those fools in the other thread want entirely diabolic characters. What fools, thinking evil is only the work of the damned. Think of it in abstract terms, evil personified, enacted, perpetrated.
Evil is what you do, make the most of it. Good job all, thanks for the opportunity.
